Can you tell me what's going on......
lmmore replied to tia_1417's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you need to see your PCP. If you are getting 60-70 g of protein, drinking 64 oz. of fluids. and keeping your calories at 500-600, then you should be losing weight. Good luck. -
I don't weigh until after I poop. I want to be sure I am the lightes. )

My boss says I have to wait until November before she will approve me off for surgery
lmmore replied to Mollie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You boss may be ignorant of what "elective" surgery is. It just means that it is not a surgery that is caused by say a heart attach, or a car accident or something. It doesnt' mean that you just elect to go in for a spa treatment. You are covered by a host of HR laws that will allow you to have this surgery when you need it. Go through HR like Tiffy mentioned, and get your paperwork started and sent to FMLA. FMLA will approve you for time off to take care of yourself. Keep strong, and good luck. The sooner you have this done, the better off you will be for the rest of your life. -
Quitting smoking is the hardest thing in the world to do. And, it puts sooo much stress on you right now. Good for you for doing this for yourself. Now go out and buy a couple of tops that fit.......yes you are going in for surgery, but you will still be wearing these for a few weeks. Feel comfortable and pretty. It's all going to be better soon. Trust me.

Frustrated and Date-Less
lmmore replied to Morgandobes's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Fight it ! Become a pain in the ass. They have no right to do this to you. I would go above him and make a complaint. This is your life, and you should have this taken care of quickly regardless of layoffs. You had a deal. A verbal contract if you will. Go for it. -
when i left the hospital, 3 days out, I had gained 3 lbs. 5 days out I was the same weight as when I went into the hospital. The I lost 2 lbs a day for two weeks. Weird.

Speak up those with leaks & infections!
lmmore replied to Can.sleeved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
But why did it take so long to discover? How did you end up knowing you had a leak? -
Gosh. Am I the only one who thinks he may have missed that you have had surgery. It happens, especially if there is a lot going on. You Prince charming doesn't come banging on the front door dress in his armor on a steed. Give the guy a chance and find out. It may all be a misunderstanding. Write to him.

Enough already! This thread is supposed to be about peoples experiences.........this is not a debate team -
Usually they have you on a pre-op diet for a while, and that is to lose some stomach and liver weight, so that when they blow up your tummy to get the instruments in, they have enough room to work, and the liver is lighter to lift. Les

I don't know Tiffy. I looked and looked, and I couldn't find those X rated photos anywhere. )

The same thing happened to me after two weeks. i went 6 days without losing, but now i am back to losing just under a lb a day again. I think this is quite common, but I know first hand how it makes you nervous, like 'am I every going to lose again? You'll be fine, just need to be patient. Les

The pure protein frosty shake comes in a can (like cola), is that not allowed for medical reasons?. if they would allow that then you don't have to shake, they are premade and tast pretty good.

Three Month Update with Photo
lmmore replied to Garyb_58's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good for you ! You've worked hard to get here, and you WILL make it all the way. -
Congrats, and good luck! Everyone is different when it comes to this procedure. I could not have gone back to work. I felt real crummy (like flu symptoms), tired and weak for about a week and a half. But, so many people here have had no problem. I think it's easier the younger you are are. I am 59, so it took me longer to feel better. But feel better you will! You won't regret getting the sleeve. I almost went with the banding, and I am so glad I didn't do that now.

Welcome. It's good you found this forum. The people here will fill you in on anything and everything you need to know. You will most likely not be hungry after surgery, and getting all the liquids you need will be a challenge, but it gets easier everyday. you'll do fine. -
Glad to hear you are doing well. Good for you! And you are so lucky to have someone there with you who cares. Just wonderful.

10:30 tomorrow morning - surgery begins for sleeve
lmmore replied to DeeDee58's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I was on a 1000 calorie a day diet pre-op, but the last week i said goodbye to all my favorite foods. KFC, Japanese Food, Popcorn, Fajitas, Filet Mignon, and PASTA. Anyway, i tried to stay mum about it to my surgeon, and when he asked the question, my partner blurted out, oh he has been on a whirl wind tour of saying goodbyes to all his favorite foods. Busted.
