Frustrated....what happened to my support???
lmmore replied to kalex21211's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Sounds like you two could use counseling. It would have been good if you confronted him with "why doesn't he think this is gonna be it".......these issues need to be discussed. And why is he forcing you to figure out the money? You're married, right? -
It might just go away now. I was pre-diabetic, and I just had my blood work completed 6 weeks after surgery. Everything is now in normal range. Go figure.
-
You'll be fine. Don't worry. My doctor let me eat that at two weeks out, but you should follow what your guidelines are. Everybody's different. What's your weight loss at?
-
Goodlife brings up some excellent points......i get hiccups now, but they go away quickly. I weighed 5lbs more when I checked out of the hospital, than when I checked in. You are fine, and doing the right things. Are you taking a PPI? That really helps, like Prilosec or nexium. I was luckily that I didnt have the gas problems that many have initially...but they will go away. You will feel much better everyday. Promise. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

lmmore replied to sickofrollercoaster's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I hope you made it home safe without dehydration. You had a challenging trip regardless of having surgery. Great that your mom was with you. Best wishes. -
Did you drink Alcohol? what are you eating? It seems very odd......need more info.

i use Dreamfields pasta (i think Tifff recommened), and that has low absorbable carbs. Vegatables.

Finally Orientation date
lmmore replied to BlaqBeary's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good for you. I went through Kaiser. Don't bother losing anything now, because they only start counting the weight on your first weigh in. And every weigh in after that you must show you have lost weight. So, For the first day, wear your heavy clothes to give yourself some breathing room to lose that 10%. They are very strict about it. Best of luck. -
baby food works too

lmmore replied to mp8btpc's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just curious.....how are you managing to get them to do this with such a low BMI? You don't appear to be too overweight......has dieting not helped at all? -
I am 6 weeks in, and I am tired and fatigued. My doctor says it's due to losing the weight so fast. I also and sticking to low calories, 600-800 because I want to lose the weight as fast as I can, and i am will to be a little tired to get there.

Calling out to Tiffykins..
lmmore replied to Curvyjudy's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm curious Curvyjudy, why you would want to fly across the United States? There are Bariatric Centers of excellence back East. I tell you, I would not want to fly for hours and hours only 3 days after having this procedure. It wipes you out. Granted you feel fine in a week or two, but that first week is hard. -
How much food can you really eat?
lmmore replied to JillianMarie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Also, don't forget that you can't just go and start eating everything right off the bat. You should wait a couple of months before the dense meats, and no raw vegatables until 3 months out. And then of course it is always stay away from sugar as much as possible. Right now, don't worry too much about your eating, you most likely will not have much an appetite after surgery. Many of us have to remind ourselves to eat. -
Any of you guys had any problems with peeing after surgery? It's been a little painful there ever since they took the cathater out. I went in to test for infection, and they gave me antibiotics. but the tests were negative. It's been six weeks now, which seems a long time for that to heal.

were you taking your Iron perhaps at the same time as with you calcium? i believe they are supposed to be 2 hours apart

HELP! I don't know what to do.
lmmore replied to Lillie24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is probably real bad advice, but i would go with it, and then take antibiotics if I had to afterwords. Just think, it's a perfect time for chicken soup -
Weird Pain please help
lmmore replied to HEARTONMYSLEEVE's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wonder sometimes if it's our bodies adjusting the quick weight loss. I just got a sharp pain today under my shoulder blade. and I haven't lifted anything. But if I reach hi in the cuboard i get a sharp pain that goes away as soon as I lower my arm. I wonder if some fat left an area open for a boney part. All of my body is going through major adjustments. :001_unsure:) -
Thanks so much. And the best of luck for you in June! Let me know how you do...cuz I will be right behind you
-
Wonderful. I can't wait until the day I hit Onederland. That's one of my major milestones...

you will have more success if you stick to the protein, but if you're going to feel awful, it isn't worth it. Talk to your nutritionist, may be if you stick to protein and simple carbs that will help your head. Best of luck.

lmmore replied to ouroborous's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so glad to hear you are doing so well. I told you it's that first week that's the hardest. Hang in there. You will be able to eat soon, and that will again make you feel even better. -
Anti-Depressants, Smoking, post WLS
lmmore replied to Tiffykins's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Tiff, a long time ago I was a smoker too. I found quitting smoking was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life! I tried everything. I finally went to the AHA, and their program is set up for "whatever works for you". It was very positive. I decided on an unorthodox way to quit. I asked my doctor for valium, just for a month. Whenever I got jittery, nervous, etc. the valium calmed me down, and i could make it. After a few weeks the withdrawals went away, and I was left with a valium habit. KIDDING. No, it just worked for me, and now it's been 15 years since I quit! I am not one of those reformed smokers that say "get that smoke away from me". I just treat myself with a nice inhale, and I'm fine. The key after you go through this, is never pick up one cigarette, ever. Good luck! -
Today I went to see my back surgeon to schedule my back fusion. He wouln't do it until I lost 50 lbs. Now that I lost the weight, he commented on how great I looked, but that he cannot perform the surgery until I have lost most my weight, because a surgery right now wouldn't be healthy for me, and I would be supceptive to infection because my immune system is down due to the starving of the body that comes with this procedure. So I am fxxxxd. He says he will do in October, but I have been off work on disability for 5 months, and I know they will want to fire me if I don't get back to work by 6/15..........so, i have a lot of things to figure out. :001_unsure:( Thanks for listening.
