Can you just go in and re-Weigh? Maybe wear heavy clothes?

So I visited a sleeve site just for the heck of it. And of course they scared me with all their talk of the lap band failure. Can some of you tell me how long you have successfully had your band? I was completely pro band and still am. I'm sure the people on the sleeve site are there because they are the ones who had major problems. But it would reassure me to know there are some people out there with successful banding after multiple years. Thanks,

HOly cow you are gorgeous just think how hot you will feel when you are at your goal! Use that thought to get you through! Worst part is over!

Aside from the many benefits of getting banded. I'm doing so for my horses sake Wondering how soon you were back up on the horse after surgery.

Oh lord I trust my doctor. But lets face it. It never hurts to ask questions. All doctors are capable of making mistakes they are indeed human beings. They aren't perfect. Obviously I wouldn't go under the knife if I didn't trust my doctor. Thanks for your opinions.

Right, maybe I'm coming off a bit uneducated but I do realize I need to trust my surgeon. I do realize it's not like going to a buffet. Like I said before. Just asking questions. Thanks for your help.

Right I get what you are saying. But who's to say my surgeon is correct. Always helps to get other people's opinions. Sorry if this was a dumb question.

Well of course I am going to ask! I'm just getting opinions here. Just because I have a certain dr. picked out doesn't mean I want to hear everyone else's opinions. I want to make sure I do everything right and was just using this board to get multiple opinions. Therefore asking here is doing me a lot of good.

I guess rather then the morality of it I was just curious to the science behind it. I honestly wasn't aware of the shrinking liver detail. That makes a lot of sense. I just think that we all have had issues with food here and a liquid diet is daunting even with the change in lifestyle. If we all had such great willpower we wouldn't be overweight would we? I'm really glad I found this forum. I think it is important to be mentally ready for this. Thanks for all of your responses!

Hello everyone so happy to be a member of this community. I just had my consult yesterday and will be getting the band soon. I guess I'm wondering if you started losing weight before the 1st fill of your band. I'm guessing after surgery you are on liquids. I don't have all of the info yet. Just curious how soon I can expect to lose after the surgery? Just excited for the losing to begin.

Wow thanks! I'm hoping mind goes as smoothly as yours! Some of these people have such a long recovery. I have a high pain tolerance so we shall see. Looking forward to losing weight. The pain will be worth it!
