Good morning everyone Today is my surgery day! I can't believe it! I know there is at least one other person getting banded today, but I'm not sure who. Whoever you are, good luck!

Anyone have any suggestions of things to bring to the hospital? I've heard Gas-X strips, and a heating pad.. Anything else?

I'm on Aug 6th too!

It's day 5, and things really are getting easier, thank you guys so much for the support! Yesterday was definitely the worst day so far, with me having to be at work for 16 hours straight (im a nurse) and see my co workers and clients eating. I also had to make dinner for the unit! Rough day, but if i can make it through that day, any other day should be manageable only 10 days to go!!

late afternoon and I am doing pretty good! Getting lots of laundry done and such. I think my stomach is starting to catch on that solid food isn't on it's way any time soon lol

Today is my day one of the liquid diet, and it also marks 2 weeks before my surgery! So far I'm doing pretty good, but then again it;s only 10:48am on day 1 lol. Anyone have any good liquid diet tips? Any specific broth people prefer?

Your post struck me because my inspiration is also a psych nurse in MA who got banded several years ago. His name is Sean Kirby -- seanmkirby@hotmail.com. (I don't think he's on this site.) He's a great guy, loves getting to know new people, and would enjoy hearing from you (and, you probably have friends in common...)

I just went to my last appointment today! Lucky for me, my sleep apnea is mild and when I called the pulmonologist to tell him that the cpap machine was a little expensive, he told me to just "screw it!" (yes, his exact words!). So, he wrote a letter to my surgeon stating I am cleared for surgery and that my sleep apnea was mild. Whoo hoo!

I am scheduled for August 6th. I am going July 9th for my nutrition class, then I start the preop July 22nd. This seems like a lifetime away!!

I'm scheduled for the 6th as well! For some reason it seems like it's sooo soon to me!

Hello I'm Jonna, and I just got approved for the lap band! My surgery is August 6th (so soon!! AHH!), and I've never had any kind of surgery before. So nervous, but SO excited!!

Just a little blurb about myself, I'm a psych nurse at a small census crisis stabilization unit, which I love. I also am musician (classical), have a wonderfully supportive fiance, love to spend time watching anime and reading manga, and love playing video games!

Anyone live in massachusetts?
