I didn't have acid reflux at all until I put on all this weight. I'm on Nexium now so hopefully after I lose weight the acid reflux will go away as well

North Chicky, I'm looking into going to Dr. Illan as well. Just now started my researching. If I don't go with him then its going to be with Dr. Garcia. But, I will more than likely be going in late August or September! Maybe I can get a date close to yours! -

The OP is absolutely beautiful and I can see why he was attracted to her as well as probably many other men there! -

I guess what gets confusing is when a man acts like they want to be with you sending mixed signals. If its just a fling then act like its just a fling. Don't bring flowers and romance into it if you just want a one nighter -

So I can get my sleeve AND have sex with a young, hot doctor?! Lol -
I'm still saving as much as I possibly can. I'm about $1,200 away from having it all! I can't wait! I haven't scheduled a date yet because I'm afraid I won't have all the money by the day I pick. I've changed my mind so many times its ridiculous. I thought that I was for certain going to go to Dr. Aceves, but I just can't afford that right now in my budget. I'm about to have to get a new vehicle and I need as much money as I can at this point. So, I've decided on Dr. Fernando Garcia. After annoying him and alma for months with my questions, I'm just going to try and push all of my anxieties to the side and go with it! I'm scared out of my mind, but I know this needs to be done in order for me to get my health and life back on track. I'm more than likely going to go in August or September. Just whenever I get the $1,200 and I'm gone!

I have been keeping up with all of your stories, and that's what's reassuring me that I'm making a good choice. I know that you were worried like me, Olivia. I take your word on it when you say that things were fine.

Have to delay surgery by one week.

Which surgeon are you going to? -
I received this text message yesterday from someone who is supposed to support me and care about me. But instead, all I ever hear is this negativity from everyone in my life. It's so disheartening...
-
I'm used to hearing this stuff from him so I kind of let it go through one ear and out the other. It doesn't hurt my feelings because its just how he is lol I'm going to Mexico and he won't be told about it until after the fact.
-
No, I never asked for his opinion.... He tells me all the time how he feels about it Lol he's on a diet and has lost about 40 pounds so far so he feels this surgery isn't necessary for me. I feel it is. No matter what I say, I will never be able to change his mind. This is a guy I've been seeing for a couple if years btw. I completely stopped talking to my family about it. All they want to do is talk about how dangerous they think it is to travel there and how the Mexican drug cartel is bad down there. Every little thing to scare the crap out of me! Lol

Dr. Garcia July 3rd... anyone else?
Jesser replied to GeorgiaSleeverCatLady's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Financially I need to go with Dr. Garcia. I'm struggling as it is trying to come up with the money. I just had my heart set on Dr. Aceves is all... But I've read so many good reviews on Dr. Garcia that I'm not really afraid to go with him anymore. -

Jesser replied to GeorgiaSleeverCatLady's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I am still trying to save up the money for my surgery, but I'm almost certain I will have it by July... I hope! I'm trying to decide between Aceves and Garcia. It's definitely a very hard decision! -

I can't pick a Dr! Help!
Jesser replied to mlecompte's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I don't believe Dr. Garcia is a part of the FACS or ASMBS... I could be wrong though. I think I asked Alma about this a few months back and she said that he is applying to be a member, whether or not he is at the moment, I'm not quite sure. But I agree, being a member of both is definitely reassuring. -
who all had Dr Fernando Garcia in Tijuana Mexico, and are you happy with your results

I'm still preop, but I've been wondering about long term issues that may arise. I read somewhere that the new stomach may produce more acid and eventually lead to a stomach ulcer resulting in possibly having to remove the remainder of the little stomach that's left. Has anyone else researched this? It's worrying me. Any advice/input would be appreciated
