My 16 year old brother always likes to weigh before he poops for some reason lol and usually he ends up weighing about 3 pounds lighter or so.

I have Verizon as well, and sometimes the screen just goes pitch black when I log in to the app. I usually have to restart my phone a few times to make it work. Lol it's frustrating!!!

I don't know much about the ObamaCare, but isn't it going to prevent Doctors from not seeing patients because of stuff like this? I may be wrong, but from what I understand they won't be able to deny you for something like that.

Can you imagine with the technology what WLS will be like in 20 years from now? Lol that's crazy.

That's probably when I'm planning on going too! I have a 3 year old and he is going to stay with his Nanna during my brother and sisters spring break so it will be easier on her. I haven't decided on my doctor for sure yet.

I just recently started researching going to Mexico to get a Sleeve Gastrectomy. I don't have any insurance and will probably use my income tax from next year to pay for the surgery. My family is saying that I'm insane for even considering going to Mexico for the surgery. I've read other reviews and I'm feeling more confident about it, even though I haven't contacted them to get the ball rolling. I'm worried about a few things and would like some input from others that have had the surgery, or is anticipating getting the surgery. Thanks!

I haven't been quoted anything lower than $4,500 to be honest. Please do extensive research on all the doctors that you're considering. Don't go to the one with the best deal. At first that's what I was going to do but realize after reading several posts that I do not want to take the cheap route. Lol I mean, there are other good doctors that are reasonable too.

I noticed that a lot of surgeons have summer specials. Is getting the surgery usually cheaper in the summertime? I'm having to save up for the surgery and may not be able to get it until next March or so, but I may hold off until next summer if that's when the deals are!

How far away is Mexicali from San Diego?

It really depends on when I can come up with the cash for it. I don't want to go through a financing company because of all the interest charges. I'm looking at probably spring of next year, but I may wait til summer because prices tend to be lower then.

I'm still researching doctors... I get so confused! Lol I've heard good things about Dr. Ortiz, but I may go with someone a little cheaper. I know their are just as good surgeons that don't charge quite that much, but he's in a center of excellence.

I agree with you! I really didn't like the thought of having a foreign object in my body. Not only that, but I would always freak myself out thinking it's slipping or something. I did research the plication as well. Out of all the different options, I liked the sleeve the best. I like it because it gets rid of the hunger hormone for one. Also, if I'm not going to be using the other half of my stomach anyway, go ahead and cut it out! Lol I haven't talked to any of the coordinators yet because I still have to save up for the surgery. I figured that I would contact them when I get the money for the deposit and airfare. I haven't really talked to much family about it. The ones that I have told look at me like I've lost my mind... So, I believe I'm just going to save up, book the surgery and tell them like a week before I go. That way I won't have to listen to everyone telling me not to do it for months.
