I can understand why you're scared about failing a second time. It has to be hard going through a surgery, and then not getting the results you hoped for. With saying that, I believe the sleeve is a much better choice than the band I have confidence that we can lose the weight and keep it off for good!

I struggled with alcoholism in my early twenties... I have a few minor in possessions, I have a DWI but should've had many more, I've done a lot of hurtful things mainly to myself all because of alcohol. I know for a fact that I never want to go back to that lifestyle so cross addiction to me is completely out of the picture. To me, getting alcohol out of my life was a big head game. And so is this. It's hard and it's going to be harder than I could imagine I'm sure. But just remember that you are doing this to better yourself. Don't take two steps back by starting to drink or get involved with any kind of drug. let's make our new addictions gym time and healthy foods

He's on the same team as Dr. Garcia so you're in good hands. I've heard really good things about Dr. Garcia as well.

I'm about 5'6 1/2 and my goal is 140-150. I'm just going to see how I look and feel along the way... That goal may drop more or it may go up a little more. I don't have to be super skinny. I just want to be healthy

ALighterme is having a special right now with a Dr. Jesus Ortiz for $4500. Has anyone had surgery with him? Or know of anyone that has had surgery with him?

It's just disheartening. I know that I want and need to do this... I'm doing it whether I have support from them or not, but this entire process would be a lot easier on me if they were supportive I'm already nervous and scared to death.

That's true. They just don't know anything about it at all. They have their opinions of what the surgery consists of, too bad it's all wrong :/

And what's kind of depressing to me is I have a terrible support system. I told my Mom that they went ahead and put me on the schedule for March, and all I heard was negative comments. My sister said she was going to laugh at my funeral because she "told me so." (she's only 12, but still) the guy I've been dating briefly said "it's your money." I never once heard "That's wonderful!" or "I'm so glad you are taking control over your health!" it really depresses me.

I will be flying out of Houston to San Diego. Straight flight. I haven't purchased my tickets yet

Amanda, Janese put me on the schedule for 3/11/13! She said there was 3 others for that day on there as well. I don't know if you're one of them or not lol I'm so excited

I just emailed Janese AGAIN! Haha this time I was asking why Aceves and Alvarez were so much more than doctors like Lopez and Garcia. I read a comment earlier on here about leaks and I want to be 100% certain that I go with a great surgeon. I don't have any insurance, so if I get the surgery and have all these complications, I'm going to be in a lot of trouble. :/

Lol I know! I'm always sending them questions! I've talked to about 5 different coordinators so far just trying to figure out who I wanna go with. I know it's not really a big deal who the actual coordinator is because I'm ending up with the same surgeon anyway. I think I'm just wanting this experience to be pleasant overall. I have panic attacks and bad anxiety, and all it would take is one little bad thing to happen and I would freak! Haha

Lol I'm sorry! I'm nervous about sending $500 so soon. I keep thinking they will forget that I sent it or something. Haha
