Tired and sore, also. Largely because I am only on liquids. Yet I have regained some strength, but the soreness is still there. My surgery was the 27th, and I can't boast the large weight loss yet, but I have lost 12lb, my problem is I have had a very lengthily surgery , that took about 4 hours to do. So I'm still recovering from that alone. Things have gotten better, again, my fatigue is from only being on liquids. In two weeks, I will be eating soft foods, but only at one meal. I still have to have the shakes twice a day, and manage to get in 64 ounces of water a day. Right now, all I can do is try, try try. SMILE.

No it's not easy, but you must keep your eyes on the prize. This is not the best time of year to have the surgery, but it will test your will power, and strength to resist temptation. The best formula to remember about our weight loss, is, when you're able to eat no sugar, pasta, bread, rice, potatoes fried foods. It's frustrating, seems impossible and again it's not easy. You'll have to tap into your inner strength to get through it all, for now lots of water, and don't forget your protein shakes. When you see the pounds melt away, you won't turn back. So far I'm one week out of surgery and I've lost 10 pounds. I have some cravings , but that's normal. I know I'll get pass that. Because I refuse to turn back, when I'm doing so well. Good luck and I wish you well. I know you'll do we'll, and achieve your goals. Be focused and I will keep you in my prayers.

I had my surgery last Tuesday, and so far I'm doing well. Still on clear liquids, tomorrow I start the protein shakes. Oh how I'm looking forward to the protein shakes. Water and tea is good, but a new flavor will be very welcomed. I still have gas pains, but not as bad at the beginning. I know that to will soon pass. I have no craving for junk food or food for that matter, but I do find it insulting that when I go to department stores etc. food is in our faces at every turn, however, the jokes on them now, because they don't have me doing any impulsive buying anymore. So there! I guess ya gotta have a sense of humor, to get through the pig out season.

Tomorrow is the day, so I'm going to keep all my activities to a minimum today, just run a couple of errands, then, all I have to do is wait for the hospital to call me, and let me know when I should arrive for surgery. I wish they wouldn't wait for the 11th hour, I'm on needles and pins. For everyone going into surgery, I know everything will turn out fine, and ill be praying for you.

Happy Thanksgiving, this is John, my date is November 27th and I can't wait. I'm so excited and scared at the same time. But my eye is really on the prize.
  6. Anyway this will be my second surgery, I'm having the lap band removed, and having the RNY done. The 27th is my surgery date. I know I will get through this, but I'm a little afraid. With the band, I have lost 100 pounds and now, I'm ready to move on and lose another 120lbs. I feel this is a good time to have it done, and avoid the holiday pig out. I have come way to far to turn back now. I have begun donating clothes to the Salvation Army, this way I, I will not turn back.
  7. So far I have all the preoperative test in, I just have to see the psychiatrist. And hope the surgeon Has all the clearances. I am hoping to go into surgery by November or December. I have lost a Lot of weight with the lap band, however, I still need to go much further. I have had some problems with the band, which may have helped cause my Barrett's esophagus. My biopsy came back negative for cancer, thank God. I am looking foward to continuing my journey toward better health. After all, I have so much to live for. I know I must wait for the approval of the insurance company, but, I don't see them denying the surgery. I'm sure my surgeon will fight on my behalf to help me get approved for surgery. I do have a super great team on my side, and lots of support from family and friends.

    Lap Band To Gastric Bypass

About three to four years and 100 pounds lost. If the band didn't cause me problems, I'm sure I would have continued to loose more. Thank you for your thoughts, I am so eager to continue my journey.
