I think it's okay, but I don't like how they mention that it's even good for those who have as little as 30 lbs to lose.
-
Good luck tomorrow! If I could get through this, you can too. I'm terrified of needles, but just imagine, after they give you some of the good stuff to knock you out, you will sleep through the whole thing. Think ahead about the end result, not the scary steps on the way there, that's what got me through it.

April Showers Challenge

Checking in at 169, no change. -
Another thing, after reading your title again with the word scoop , is that you can freeze bananas without the skin and blend them up to make "ice cream". This might be a nice treat if you have warmer weather coming your way soon.
-
NUT did a presentation just yesterday and bananas were brought up and she said that most people have the misconception that bananas are bad, but they are good for you. A serving size is usually just 1/2 a banana and people usually end up eating the entire banana, which means a lot more calories and why people have this misconception. Personally, I can only handle a 1/2 of a banana, not an entire one, but before surgery, I'd eat them like there was no tomorrow without any problem. Also, like Missy said, track it in your diary and you have control over if it's a "bad" or "good" fruit.

March 2013: NOT the Dryer!!!!
2012 commented on Karina150's blog entry in My Pants Went in the Dryer?!?!
Too funny, wait until you depend on the dryer to provide clothes. I got to the point where I was line drying everything since clothes kept getting tighter and tighter, and then I had to start drying things (after surgery of course ) to keep things fitting and now the dryer doesn't even help. I went through 3 pairs of pants and a belt this morning and all were way too big, happy dance time . -
Carbs vs net carbs
2012 replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did you find out about if you are doing net carbs or regular carbs? I was thinking about switching over to "a carb is a carb" and try that for awhile and knock out sweeteners, but it will probably be hard, but if I focus on just getting carbs from veggies/fruits, I think I can do it. -

Dont understand whats going on.
2012 replied to mechelle80's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just remember that misery loves company and that people will always post the negative and not necessarily the positive, so don't overwhelm yourself with the negatives/complications. I'm not bragging, but saying this out of support, but I have had zero complications and I am 8 months in and 92 lbs down and had both a hiatal hernia fixed and lap band done on the same day. Follow the rules and chew, chew, chew. Yes there is a learning curve, but you will get through this. Good luck tomorrow! -
Thank you and a happy Easter to you too! Have a great day!

Three Weeks Post Op & Pain Under Left Rib Cage - HELP!!!
2012 replied to jennifernj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Where is your port located? This can be sensitive for some time after surgery. Some people have it on there right side (which is where mine is) and some have it on there left side. You just had the port attached to a muscle and this takes time to heal. -

Have you had surgery before? Are you scared? We all go through this, maybe not necessarily crying (but we all react differently to things), but freaking out a bit because it still is major surgery. I doubted myself, wandered WTH was I doing, why in the world did I have to resort to this, and a bunch of other "fun" feelings and did this again even after surgery, but I know that I was going nowhere, I'm in my 30's and have more life to live, and am happy that I did this. Oh and wait until you wake up from anesthesia, within a matter of minutes I was mad, then wanted to cry, went back to mad and had no clue what was wrong with me, come to find out anesthesia can make you feel like that, once it wore off, I was all good . -
Hi all, I added some people, I'm 2012ALM from LBT, but I always identify that I'm from LBT in my message. It would be nice if everyone did this so you know where they are coming from, I've had some random people want me to be friends that I have no clue where they came from and they get denied .

Nine days post surgery and port poking me
2012 replied to balbuquerque's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All and all to stop feeling weird sensations (for lack of a better word, not painful), it took me a full 2 months. I'm 8 months out now and I only noticed it the other day when I was doing (well trying to do ) jumping jacks, I did not like the feeling, so I stopped. -
Congratulations and you look great! Where were you in the first pic, looks like some beautiful scenery behind you?

Moving to Notting Hill VIC, Australia, need a Lapband doc, suggestions?
2012 replied to 2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you, I appreciate it, I can give you gas (I think you call it petroleum) money too. I'm going to go ahead and email them to see if they need anything from my current doctor for the transfer.
