Are you by chance still wearing old clothes that don't show the loss? I know on days that I wear my old clothes (always kept them in hopes I would return one day, and I am woohoo ) that fit more snug, people actually notice, but with baggier clothes (really trying to hold out on buying clothes as I keep going down pretty steadily) no one says a thing. But it may help I work in an environment with a lot of nurses, doctors, and health minded people, so they encourage getting healthier, if that makes sense. Like LovetheNewMe said, they may be jealous or just not know how or what to say. I have one person who is always complementing me, but at the same time, says she is afraid that she does not want to offend me in the same conversation. Like people don't want to make you feel bad about what you used to look like I suppose is what she means.

If it makes you feel any better, I ate some buckeyes today that someone made for me, but I added them to my food journal (MFP) and I'm accounting for them and adjusting the rest of the day to stay in my numbers that my nutritionist advised. They were really good!

I can't really help you with the insurance issue as I was self paid, but maybe the doctor's office (lapband doc) you are working through has a specialist that can advise you? I know the one I go to does, but I didn't use her.

I'm 5'4 and my doc set a goal at 160 if this helps and I'm 35.

PLEASE RESPOND. . .YOUR INPUT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I agree, I tried the protein shake in the morning early on and it went right through me, so I would only use these to supplement if your protein is lacking for the day (I do myself, but it's usually an afternoon snack). I also suggest looking up bandster hell on here, you are going through it. You have to heal and through this stage you will be hungry, your body is going through a big adjustment, but you will get there. And water will help like stated above, drink lots of it in between and make yourself stick to your docs instructions on eating as far as how much, you need to develop the habit now before you start getting the restriction to get used to it. Hope this helps. -
Honestly it sounds like this lady dropped the ball and just gave up. If you think you are stretched and/or have not gone in for a fill for that long, then go to the doc and figure out how to resolve the issue(s), she may have just needed a fill. Maybe I'm more motivated since I was self paid, but if I have issues, you bet your a** I'm going back to the doc. And see, 4lbs down, you are well on your way! It's difficult in the beginning, we are learning a bunch of new habits all at once so it takes time, but you'll get the hang of it. And if you are not tracking, I suggest it, it's very helpful, myfitnesspal is awesome (and free), I'm 2012ALM if you want to be friends.

Vj, just wanted to let you know you got me motivated by this post and I went through my closet and got rid of a lot of clothes today, actually I had a really fun time trying on pants and finding they are too big . And I see you are from Louisville, I'm only about an hour away from you in Northern Kentucky, not too far from Cincinnati.
-
Thank you, I'm feeling pretty good and people are starting to notice, not sure if I like all of the attention or not .
-
Do you wear the fitbit all day? Or just on and off?

Great job!

Hi VJ, I'm down 69 as of today (weigh weekly on Sunday morning) and was banded 09Jul2012. I'll admit I struggled yesterday while shopping for others in not buying clothes (usually end up getting myself presents too, lol) but I stayed away. I really don't know what size I am now, maybe I should shop my closet and see what I have in there. The droopy pants are significant to me because a few months ago I could not get them to fit, and I threw them on the floor of the closet (not a slob, just was not happy that day) and now they are huge on me.

Floridays I appreciate all of your posts and I like how you write them, so keep it up!

Well I'm bullhead and went Christmas shopping with my droopy butt pants all day long yesterday, lol. I kind of like the feeling of having to pull up my pants, but when I hit 100lbs down, I plan to go shopping. Although, I have quite a bit of smaller clothes since I have always kept them since I always thought I would be back to that size one day. I have gone to Goodwill and have had a little success and don't forget about consignments like Snooty Fox (or whatever is around you). I totally forgot about them until I saw one while out shopping yesterday. And I didn't even think about shoe sizes dropping, guess I'll wait on that too.

Wow, this person sounds like a complete psycho, thank goodness you are only "meeting" this person online, jeez.

I'm sorry to hear that you have to go through this. Is this a hiatal hernia, if you don't mind me asking? I had one, but the doc fixed it before placing the band, I didn't even know I had one.

Cheznoel, that is a good plan, I could probably make that work. Thanks!

Does anyone have any problem getting all of your water in for the day? I'm not a person who has to be drinking something all of the time and I know my water is not on par where I am supposed to be. I have a ton of different flavor packets and it's not that I don't like water, it's just that I'm not thirsty. Any suggestions besides forcing myself to form this new habit?

Thank you all, I really appreciate the input! Sometimes it helps just to hear others that have achieved this and/or are going through the same thing. I took the bottle with me to meetings today, so got a little more in , will keep on working on it. Liz, maybe we need to make it a competition or something to get ourselves to drink the liquids, lol.

Hey Kayla I just had my worst stuck episode yet tonight. Thank goodness I was with my dad and stepmom who has the lapband and can understand. We went to Texas Roadhouse and I spent like a 1/2 hour in the bathroom and it was horrible, worst paint I have had yet. I pb'd about 3 times and just did the pineapple juice (thanks Lassie) and now I'm finally relieved. That's what 3 bites of steak and 3 bites of sweet potato got me, still not sure what did it, but that sucked!

If it makes you feel better, my step mom had the same thing. She's had the lapband for 3 years (really skinny now and my inspiration to get this done too) and still has to take the BP meds. But hey you cut down on the pills drastically, still doing great!
-
Woohoo!

Great story, thank you! And I totally agree, I wanted the band to help me keep it off, I could always lose it, just can't keep it off.

For any of you looking for the book, don't forget about eBay. I found it for $10.00 from a Goodwill store. It's on the way! -
My band gets tighter, totally forgot about it today and tried to eat my lunch and only got two bites as I could feel a stuck episode coming along, had to switch to some diet hot cocoa. But I tell you I want to eat a house right now, not physically, but mentally, this sucks!

Hi Alcmnch01, what is your member name on MFP? I tried looking you up with your LBT name, but nothing came up.
