    starvation mode

    How are you burning 1400 a day? Are you wearing a body media or something to show calories really burned?
  2. It's when you body has some sort of reaction to tell you to stop eating. You may think you can still keep going if your only half way done with the amount your doc told you to eat, but it is best if you don't. For example, when mine was still around, at one point, if I did a small hiccup, I knew I better stop eating or I won't feel too good when I'm done. I have heard of noses starting to run, a burp, a sigh (I thought that was a weird one, but I actually had this happen at Red Lobster once), hiccup, and that's about all of the ones I can think of, but there might be more. Not everyone experiences this either, but quite a few do.
  3. Is this a hiatal hernia or another type? Sorry if this is an ignorant question. The hernia I had repaired at surgery was a hiatal hernia, but what you described is exactly what I've been experiencing the last 2 weeks thinking it was my gallbladder or something, it's right under my right rib cage too. I go to my primary doc next week, but depending on what she thinks, may be visiting my lapband doc as well.

    Hiatal Hernia

    Mine was included with the surgery cost and I had to sign a release that I would allow him to do this while he was in there once he found it. I had no clue I had one, so I'm glad he automatically does this.
  5. Thanks both, I was actually due for a fill last weekend, but a snow storm came through and I cancelled my appointment (not driving 45 minutes in a storm), so end of the month I have one so I may get it back .
  6. I'm sorry to hear that Linda, but hopefully it should not have much of an impact on your band. I had mine fixed at the time of the surgery and got my band at the same time. Some have it done afterwards and they still have a band (at least what I have seen on LBT). I hope all turns out well for you!

    day 2 pre op diet

    The first 3 days were the hardest for me too, I was quitting caffeine and sugar all at the same time and it was not fun and I tried to avoid people because I wasn't the nicest either . But you can do this! Popsicles were my fav too
  11. I'm glad you had a nice dinner, Indian food is really good. Isn't it nice to actually taste things again? I eat something now and it tastes so much better, not that I need more of it, but it's just good and I savor it.
  12. I tried the Bio-oil and it did nothing. I also used the Scar away silicone strips in the beginning and they seemed to help. I'm almost 7 months out and the small incisions are barely noticeable, but I think the larger one will take more time. It's not horrible, but it is raised slightly and darker pink color, but the middle of it is my skin tone, so it's making it's way there .

    Curious about Quinoa

    I can eat it with no problem. It probably helps that it is small, a little firm and easier to chew thoroughly than say noodles.

  16. I like Isopure low carb chocolate and it may seem expensive, but you can't absorb the full 50 grams at once by using the 2 scoops as the suggested serving size, so I only use 1 scoop a day. And it doesn't cause me any stomach issues like other whey proteins. Vitaminshoppe is really the best price and they ship for free over $25.00 and they are fast.

    Do you have a Marcos Pizza around you? They have a cracker thin crust and really good pizza and they have the nutrition information on their website.

    Hiatal hernia

    Same here, mine was fixed during lapband surgery and I had no clue I had one. I was having symptoms of reflux before surgery, but not bad enough to take anything, and now no symptoms. Nice added benefit

  21. Thanks for the input. I got Metamucil last night and a tea laxative that worked a little too well . And like you Kim, I'm more on the reserved side, but my personality comes out a lot more as I lose more weight. I can't believe how many people are noticing the weight loss Now if I would just wear something that actually fit, I'm really trying to hold out to get smaller, but eventually I'll have no choice and will have to get clothes. Someone even offered to buy me a shirt the other day as a joke since I was swimming in my blouse, but I just said it's a nice reminder. And I have no regrets, at first I had buyers remorse only because I was self pay, but hopefully taxes will help pay down this loan and as good as I feel, I'm not to remorseful anymore. Kim, I hope you get better with eating, if it keeps up, may just be time for an unfill for short while.

    enough protein

    Shrimp is loaded with protein and really good. I had some for lunch today and I believe it's around 21 g for 3 oz. I supplement with a protein shake or protein bar (Quest bar) if my numbers are running low. And I love cheese. Cottage cheese and peaches is good, that's about 14 or 15 grams, Danon Light and Fit Greek is good, love the Cherry flavor and the carb count is much better than most other Greek yogurts.
  23. Oh and sorry I keep posting, but I keep thinking of different things . Anyone have problems with not being regular (I know gross topic, but a reality )? I was good for the most part up to this point and recently am starting to have problems. I am see the NUT Saturday but wanted to see if anyone found anything that has worked for you?
  24. If you guys are not already involved, the monthly challenges that Lisa has are really nice and she keeps an awesome tracker each week to show progress. February should be starting up soon. Look up January 2013 challenge to see what I'm talking about if you are interested.
  25. I feel a fill about a week later, it's weird that it does that. Some say it's a matter of the fill getting through the tubing to the band and others say it's because you don't get to solids until a few days later, but it still takes me a week. Kim, thanks for the complement I do notice in the mornings I'm tighter and also after exercising. Some ladies and I started walking at work around lunch time and I have noticed that when I get back and eat lunch (at my desk) it's harder to eat and it has to be the exercise since this did not happen before.
