size 6 and 60 pounds gone ...REALLY????
2012 replied to goingfoit's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Great job!! I would love to see size 6, but even at my best and in a normal BMI range, I was a 10, but it's all good -
I just went to the doctor last week and mentioned I have had this reoccurring dull pain on my right side and I had also started walking 2-4 miles a day at the same time and come to find out (my port is on the right), she said it's very common to have soreness in your port area from exercise. This might be something to consider when speaking to your doc. She said that sometimes it goes away for people as you get stronger, but it may always be there too. I make an effort to hold in my stomach while walking so it makes sense to me. I do not put anything on it, I just deal with the pain as it's pretty dull and not really painful, but I was more concerned my gallbladder was going to give me problems since I've been losing really well and as you have probably read on here, a lot of people end up having this removed.

Where is your port located? And have you been exercising?

I went for a fill today and found out that my port is causing some dull pain on and off. I thought it was my gall bladder, then appendicitis, but come to find out it's from my exercising (walking 2-4 miles a day), I'm working the muscles and since the port is attached to a muscle it can be an irritating kind of pain, but nothing severe, and she said it will probably go away eventually as I get strong (I originally just sat around on the couch and now walk every day). But if you experience severe, then it's time for some x-rays. I talked to both my PCP and Lapband nurse, so I'm confident I don't have a major issue. But if you suspect something is wrong, please ask your docs because things can happen.

Thanks Lisa! -
If you have problems, you could always ground up your shrimp and put it in something. I occasionally have problems with it if I don't pay attention and eat it too quickly and don't chew enough. And it's funny that you ask about cake as I just ate some of the scraps off of the cake I just baked and got stuck pretty good, guess I'm not eating the final product after all . Although, it had no icing, so that may have helped too.

Asparagus is NOT my friend anymore...
2012 replied to BayougirlMrsS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I hope I can continue to eat asparagus, I'm like marfar7 and absolutely love the stuff! It will be a very sad day when I can't eat it anymore , so far I'm good and can eat it. -
I just had to share with people who would understand, but I finally went shopping for pants today as mine are all too big and I didn't keep anything smaller, so it was time I got out of the "droopy butt" (as I call them ) pants. So I went in thinking, I'm probably and 18, nope, too big, I'm a 16, woohoo! I'm really happy, I was wearing size 24 about 7 months ago.

I didn't think about looking at places like that, thanks for the tip!

Yes I would, just wish I did it sooner .

But it does get easier as you learn and keep going

Do we weigh in on Thursday or Friday next week? -
I keep debating getting the Fitbit, when I get enough points on my credit card (rewards program) I'll probably get one, but I don't want to spend the $100 right now.

It bugs me too, but I have not been able to fix it either, so I just stick with whole numbers and keep my real numbers written on my calendar hanging on the fridge.
-
I just friended you on facebook, so I hope I did this right.

I would like to join, this is a great idea and I didn't think about a second facebook page, I have not joined other LBT facebook pages because only 4 people know about my surgery and I would like to keep it that way .

More behind me than there is in front of me...
2012 commented on Terry Poperszky's blog entry in Terry Poperszky's Blog
Great post and perspective, a good way to stay motivated . I've been gradually getting more motivated with exercise and just got an HRM to help me with this so my workouts (cardio) count. Still struggling to get myself to do the strength, but I know I need to. -

8 days post op having trouble sleeping on my back, please help!
2012 replied to Happy2bhealthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a side, stomach sleeper and was sore when I tried to lay this way at first, so to lay on my back to make it comfortable, I took a pillow and put it under my knees and slept well until I could lay on my side again.
