kaysonsmom replied to CandiKiss's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have 6 from my sleeve and another 4 from gallbladder surgery last Sunday. I kinda feel like a pin cushion. I think mederma will be in my future. -
I'm on the depo shot and have had no issues.

Vsg & Hypo Thyroid
kaysonsmom replied to ChristyLove's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My thyroid problem was noticed in December. I have been on the lowest dose of synthroid since then and my level has been normal but I still feel blah. I am just over 5 weeks out from being sleeved and just had my gallbladder out last Sunday. I have absolutely no energy. It sucks. I hope you feel normal soon. -
How The Hell Do You Drink Isopure?
kaysonsmom replied to Carrie's Journey's topic in Food and Nutrition
I like the muscle milk light. I think around 100 calories. I just ordered a small container of cookies n cream. Hopefully I like it. I tried the nectar post op and wasn't a fan. I had some isopure after gallbladder surgery last weekend and it was not the best. I have a container of injury chicken broth that I use once in a blue moon just for a change up. -
Where do you find them? I only have Walmart here to grocery shop and I haven't been able to find the wonton wrappers. Maybe they don't carry them?

Has Anyone Had To Take Magnesium Citrate Post-Op
kaysonsmom replied to lil4heartz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No but I take stool softeners daily because I had to "manually unclog" twice now and that is not fun. -
You will be so happy when its out. I had mine out this past Sunday. I had my sleeve July 12 and gallbladder August 12. Hopefully no more bumps in the road.

My NUT said to take 2 a day. So you are getting 200% of mostly everything. I take one in the am and afternoon and calcium in between.

Oatmeal 14 Days Out?
kaysonsmom replied to Texarkolina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like oatmeal. Just not plain oatmeal. I tried some and it went down good but I just can't do plain oatmeal. -
I was sleeved July 12. The past couple weeks I have been feeling pretty good, no pain, light exercise etc. Saturday morning I woke up with a stabbing pain right above my right hip. Thinking it was my appendix I went to the e.r. right by my house. They said my labs were fine and i wasnt dying and sent me home. Still in lots of pain, I went to the e.r in the next town over, about 30 mins away. I told the e.r. doc there I wanted to know why I hurt so bad. He felt my stomach and said something was wrong. He ordered ct scan for my appendix. Couldn't see much of my appendix so couldn't exactly rule that out. Then be ordered a gallbladder ultrasound. The just showed that it was really large and I had stones, which I knew already. So he called the surgeon and asked if I could be admitted and the surgeon did. I got to my room about 10pm and the surgeon was in to see me around 12:30am to talk to me. He said he would see how my labs looked in the morning. He came back around 8:30am and felt my stomach and decided it was a good idea to take it out. Surgery was at 9:30 yesterday morning. Everything went awesome. Surgeon came in later and told me it was a very good thing he had taken it out. My gallbladder had been blocked for quite awhile, so long that the bile in my gallbladder was clear. The inside membrane of my gallbladder had absorbed the pigment of the bile. He said that is extremely rare. I was released from hospital later that day. What a coincidence though that I had my sleeve on the 12th and gallbladder out a month later on the 12th.

Gallbladder Removed
kaysonsmom replied to kaysonsmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hope nobody ever has to go through what I did. I had stones for years and I told my surgeon that so he should have just taken it out during my sleeve surgery. But its ok. -
Gallbladder Removed

Yeah the day of my sleeve I told my surgeon I was having some pain but he decided not to take it out. It would have been a lot better having them out at the same time. Oh well this is just a hurdle during my journey. -
Saturday morning I woke up with a pain right above my hip. I went to e.r. and thought it was appendix. Ended up being gallbladder and had it taken out yesterday morning. All my labs were normal but when he took out my gallbladder he said that my gallbladder had been blocked for quite awhile, so long that my bile was clear because the membrane inside my gallbladder had absorbed all the pigment of the bile.

No. I went to one e.r. they said my labs were fine, I wasn't dying and call my surgeon Monday and sent me home. I went to another e.r. they did ct scan and ultrasound and was admitted to the hospital.

Ok so my surgeon took my stomach out through an incision on must right side, a couple inches over from my belly button. I had pain at the incision site for the first 2 weeks. I'm now just over 4 weeks out and haven't had any pain. This morning I woke up in a lot of pain but no where near that site its further over to the right. It hurts to breathe, it hurts to move. Does anyone have any ideas what it might be from? Appendix? I don't know if I should go to the walk in clinic or try to wait it out. I don't see my PCP till Wednesday.

Going in for surgery at 9:30
-
Looks like its gallbladder
-
Yup mine is on the right of my belly button. My labs at the e.r. came back as normal so I'm not dying and that's all they care about. They don't care that I'm in a lot pain. They sent me home with tylenol 3
-
Went to e.r. labs were fine they sent me home
-
And my surgeons office is an hour away so they would probably want me to go to the e.r. there instead of here.
-
It hurts to walk. I can't stand up straight to walk. I don't know if I should go to the e.r. or walk in clinic.
