A southern Hello to you all,
I had lap band surgery 06/2012 lost about 85 pounds in a year, started having severe issues with acid reflux, which caused damage to my esophagus, and had the band removed on Jun 29, 2015. Before my removal, I had to complete a six-month program to get approval to have the sleeve. I started in March of 2015 and completed the program in August 2015, and was sleeved in December 2015. Acid Reflux dissolved and no issues until one-year post-op from VSG.
In 2017, the same issues returned but this time worse. I had to sleep sitting straight up for several years. EGD done in Sept. 2019 found Hernia, Gerd, and Espophgus damage. On Jan 31, 2022, EGD shows Barretts Esophagus, Hernia, and GERD. The new bariatric doctor is currently seeking RNY conversion. However, insurance is denying repairs of the Hernia and Esophagus. Seeking peer to peer next week for approval of repairs and then will only be responsible for RNY conversion. Prayers that we can get this moving, and I will no longer deal with acid reflux that has been going on now for ten years this year. Regardless of coverage, I will have to pay out of pocket for the conversion. I will update you when this happens.
Anyone else had all three bariatric surgeries? If so, I would love to hear your story.
