g25 replied to maygoddess's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks! I’m going to get my lap band to a mini gastric bypass revision and I’m nervous that they might not be able to do it at once, I have no problem with my band other than not losing weight -

biddynz, Did you have your band removed and came back for another surgery or was it done all at the same time? -
Is been less than a year but my fills are not included

I had my surgery July 2012 and so far I have lost 25 pounds my doctor has been giving me several small fills mainly .25 cc at a time. I think he could be more aggressive with my fills but he keeps telling he dont want to get me to tight. I feel im doing most of the work on my own with only 3.5cc on my band out of a 10cc band I'm always fighting hunger. I excersice 5 times a week and I just wish I could lose weight a little faster most people can't even tell I lost any weight.... Im tired of being fat and hungry. Has anyone out there experience slow weight lost and finally lost the weight?? How long can this take??

I know is not the best feeling I got stuck ones but I learned my lesson I though I was going to die. I think we all have to go tru that situation at least once so that we dont forget to chew again

I did pay for surgery cash because my insurance kept denying to pay for it for one reason or another so I just got tired and came up with the money and paid cash. Now they are going to pay for my fills after I meet my 1,000 deductable but the other problems is that I live 4 hrs away from my doctors which means I drive 4 hrs there and back in one day and is getting tiring and expensive

I do trust him Cheznoel but im also a nurse and know that medicine is not always about health but I might just look into seeing another doctor hopefully someone will take my case

Mexico Patient Needing A Fill Center In The Atlanta Area. Any Suggestions?
g25 replied to terrylou2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my band in Mexico and im following up with a doctor in oklahoma city he charges me $150 for each fill and he's great! So there is reasonable doctors around just keep looking don't give up -
I have 1.25 cc in my band and I feel a little restriction but I can still eat a lot I try to stick to 1 cup but is hard when you are hungry anyways im getting discouraged... Btw a cc and a ml is the same thing
-
Wish I could help you but I will have my first fill here in 2 weeks anyways good luck and keep us posted

I did 3 days clear liquids then full liquid up to 2 wks post op, then mushies, and the past week I've been doing soft foods I should be introducing solids slowly up to week 6. I have been doing protein shakes also I noticed that if I dont take them am hungrier than when I take them.
-
Im 4 weeks post op and have lots about 17 pounds and im stuck there. However, I've been getting really hungry the past few days, im not due for my adjustment until 2 more weeks. My concern is that I don't feel any restriction what so ever when I eat. I have been eating soft foods mainly in small quantities but Im afraid my band slipped since is am not getting as full as before or feel any restriction. I do get the feeling of fullness eventually and I stop eating. I haven't had no abdominal pain or any other problems, only mild heartburn occasionaly. Is this normal? How can I know my band is ok??
-
I think the longer on full liquids the better your band will heal and better results. Im hoping to stay on full liquids as long as possible i've only added protein shakes and thats helped my head hunger... Hang in there

I've kept the doctors orders so far but i understand where you coming from my adviced is start again and keep doing what you're suppost to. I keep telling my self there will be better days over and over again
