I just really want to never gain wait again and I'm so afraid this will happen, I know I am the only that can control this and not let the obsessive thoughts take over. M-F I do great 10 + cups of water and all. The last two weeks I've only lost 3# I feel I was loosing more before surgery . I also measure myself and waist line has remained the same for the past 3 weeks. Please help

First Time Drinking Alcohol Post Op
Dinora7 replied to learning to fly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish I had not started drinking so soon, I waited 2 months after surgery. I was a big drinker pre-op lots a beer lots and lots, I realize now that was also part of my weight problem. I've now replaced beer with wine or champagne and yes I get drunk quicker which is a problem because I then just want to continue drinking and it could totally ruin my awesome efforts a a low carb low calorie diet. It is a bit hard, having drinks is just such a big part of our lifestyles, finding harder to not drink alcohol than to have given up Soda! One peace of advise, stay away from mixed grittier drinks those are a complete sabotage to our diets -
Another thing I recommend is when you are not feeling all that great because the weight is melting emmediately of or it fluctuating step back and take a look at the whole picture. I my self was having trouble and just recently I went back to my original weight and had my scale chart my progress, my jaw dropped the chart had a line drastically shooting downward and I realized how far I've come. By the way I recommend the Withings scale to everyone, it also does BMI and muscle mass and links to the computer and phone automatically.

Don't weigh yourself on a daily basis it will only drive you crazy. This gain and loose a lb or two thing is crazy and hard to comprehend even as much as others may say that it's your body adjusting or your building muscle. Which is all true. I say stay away from the scale and try measuring and you will have a better idea

I'm 4 mos 3 weeks post op and I started Zumba at 3 weeks. Just speak to the instructor and they can always modify the routines a little for you. Just remember to take it at your own pace. It is your workout you manage it! Enjoy this class that is loads of fun and Zumba the pounds away

Preop 238 At surgery 210 Current 159 Height 5'3" I was told that I should keeps carbs at no more than 80 a day, I feel like I have been loosing very little, exercise at least 5 times a week some times twice a day calories at 800. Advice please on carb intake and your experience please trying to find the problem with my stalls? Driving me crazy, maybe I'm just stressing too much and should be happy with the rate I am loosing weight, but not having the scale move or the measuring tape change is killing me and makes me want to just pig out!

Forensikchic I think I will go down on the carbs, I'm not too sure if I can cut out fruit but I have changed the kind of fruit definitely no bananas, I'll cut out the flour completely thenand I'll try my hardest to not have tortillas, pastas and rice I don't have and I'll still stay away. Thanks

I'd appreciate any input suggestions etc. thank you for the support

Chimera I do 55 - 65 Protein at least 80 oz Water a day. I take opurity Multivitamin and Calcium plus a gummie multivitamin that has a few things not in opurity. Most of my carbs are from fruit a vegetables but I do allow my self to have a bit of flour carbs. A small piece of toast, tortilla (corn) or crackers but only one in one meal of the day

Pokey I am not diabetic, thankfully I am totally healthy well except for a cold I'm still getting over. I appreciate the suggestion but I'd really wouldn't like dealing with yet another doctor. How is a sport doc different?

Should I Tell The Inlaws About My Surgery?
Dinora7 replied to soontobeskinnymini's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wish I had not told my sisters inlaw. They always say " but she got that surgery" always downplaying my commitment to this life change. I've even asked my partner to please not discuss my weight or size with them because it almost always results in negative comments. So if your inlaws are slightly negative people I wouldn't tell them, but I would make sure that your husband has a support group or someone close other than his family because sometimes we forget how this journey can also be hard on our spouses. -

Labor Day Challenge 2012
Dinora7 replied to jhansen71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay so so I started at sw 163 cw161 gw135 went to gym 8 times last week got sick did not go on weekend and still sick so have not been since. I'm going to try to go to the gym today I am not loosing too much still feel like I'm in a stall, any suggestions, I think I'm going to try a Faterday, I am sticking to 800 cal per day sometimes a little over or less, someone suggested my body may find itself in starvation mode so a Faterday would help. My water intake M-F is about 64-96oz on weekends I must admit I slack off but still get in at least 48oz. Also I get in atleast 50-60g protein daily as recommended by my surgeon. I'd love to hear any suggestions
