a lot of people i have heard from say that they have a hard time with eating breakfast due to the band being to tight in the morning and they just drink an instant breakfast for their meal. i have found after each filling that things change. this may be one of those changes or it may have been what you ate. on my last fill i have to cut my fried food up smaller cause it bothers me some if i dont. each fill is unique and you just have to find your footing and readjust meals. good luch.

I was turned off for about two weeks cause I was just so tired. I am a stomach sleeper and couldnt get comfortable. Just see how you feel and take it from there. You might have to get imaginative but that the fun part.

Protien Shakes......
isis3180 replied to LollieGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my doctor's office provided the shakes so I had no out of pocket expense for that, which I was greatful because friends who had the lapband said the shakes were getting pricey. I heard that there are a lot of options out there which is fantastic. -
Protien Shakes......
isis3180 replied to LollieGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the HMR shakes and they were very good. I was able to subsitute a shake for 2oz. lean protien a day and on top of that either 4 cups raw veggies or 2 cups cooked veggies. I had the vanilla and chocolate shakes, no strawberry in the lot but they did have chicken soup, I just couldnt drink it, it made me gag. With the shakes thou I was able to add sugar free Jello pudding onto them, just a small amount, and it changed the flavor. banana cream and cheesecake were my favorite along with the orange. I lost about 16lbs on the shakes and was uber excited about it. Those combinations sound very good!!!!!!!!!!!! -
I have 6cc so far and have found that nothing is a problem, hopefully it stays that way. Sauses are my friend. I special ordered small forks and spoons to help me out with the small bites, i still have trouble with the slow eating but it is a concious effort to slow down. I have only had two things that i took to big of a bite and had a hard time swallowing it but after a few minutes it was fine and both times i was in a hurry to eat so it was all on my poor choice. Good luck!!!!!

Cheshire Medical Center Banders out there?
isis3180 replied to whip22's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
HI I had my surgery by Dr. Dupuis on 5/1/2012, and had my first fill of 3cc on 5/30/2012. I am currently at 6cc and getting another fill on Monday. I am not sure on the actual weight loss since I started the process but I will ask at my next appointment. It was a smooth process for me and I am loving the fact that I am loosing weight!!! I am fitting into clothes that I havent been able to in years. Good Luck to anyone who is thinking about getting LapBand and it was the smartest thing I have ever done!!!!! -

thank you all for the super support, my sister is a great helper in this journey and she is considering it herself. It is fantastic to talk to people that have actually gone through it and get help from them. thanks again -
Hello~ I started my journey in December 2011 with an information seminar at the hospital that i chose. After that It was a quick turn around from my initial meet of staff at hospital to my surgery. My first official appointment was in mid January 2012 and my surgery was May 1, 2012. It was sheduled more then a month- month and half out. I had to do the three week pre-surgery diet and I had no issues with that at all and lost about 15 lbs on it. I have steadly lost weight lose since my first fill and am very excited to start my banded life. I am currently filled at 6cc and will most likely have another one or two. I have had no issues at all with eating any foods. I guess I am very lucky that way. I do small bites, slow chewing and wait a bit for my next bite (which is very hard for me as I am a fast eater). I have enjoyed losing the weight and seeing the results in getting to wear smaller sized clothes. New clothes and a reason to shop!!!!!! I had no reservations on my choice to get the surgery and am very happy that I did, this was my first surgery and it was well worth it. isis3180
