What is your Pre-Op diet?
isis3180 replied to Oregon Rocks's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
when i had the 3 weeks restriction diest before surgery i had the HMR 800 i could have up to i think 6, and up to 2 cups raw veggies (low starch ones) or 1 cup steamed veggies. i could also substitute 1 shake once a day. for 2 oz of lean Protein. i was never ever hungry and i lost 17lbs on it. good luck on your new beginning!!! -
Eating question, PLEASE HELP.
isis3180 replied to princesstuiaki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i ate alot less then what i did before my surgery but i still ate quite a bit of food, more then the cup. i actually went on vacation the third week after my surgery and ate till i was full. it is a huge adjustment that you need to learn slowly. my first fill was a month after surgery and i was like BAM!!!!, down to eating nothing like i was. it just takes time, it did for me. -
50 pounds until I hit the goal weight!!!!!
isis3180 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am very excited that I have only 50 more pounds to lose before I reach the goal weight that my doctor set. I am very happy with myself and pleased that I see the results I am working very hard at. I can not "weight" until I am there and have accomplished that 110 pound+ weight loss for the new me. -
Mine are pretty much the same. I get lidocaine and then wait for it to get numb. I just lye flat on my back and arms behind my head and that is all, no pillow. Mine are also pain free.

i love peanut butter too so much that i can not have it in the house anymore. i have not kept it here for about 6 months. there is a health food store that i make my own right there thou. i am envious that you can stop after that one container. that is my one weakness.

I have just recently started dating again after about 8 years. I am still so nervous but am more confident in myself and have more self esteem then I have ever had. I am starting to really like the new me.

Not loosing weight 5 months out.
isis3180 replied to Mr. Morris's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i would call you doctor and see what he says. i didnt lose weight until my band was properly adjusted. each person is different but your situation doesnt sound healthy if you are "expressing" that often in a day. also depends on what you are eating as well. -
i am one of the lucky few that i have absolutely no restrictions on what i can eat. if i eat to fast then i have to run towards the bathroom to vomit but other then that i am good to go. my doctors are amazed that i have no issues with any type of food at all. i tend to not eat out frequently because of that fact but i do go out occasionally but lesser and lesser now that i make all my own healthy less processed foods at home.

i traveled during week three just to TN for 10 days. i had no issue at all but i was still in the USA, i did try to swim thou and that was not a good idea as it was painful as it pulled on the stomach muscles. so i just floated. walking was fine and such. GOOD LUCK!!!!! AND HAPPY VACATION!!!!! i am going to England in the fall and can not wait, my doctor told me he would be willing to let out some of the fill in order for me to eat the local cuisine and would put it back in when i return. i am still undecided about that.

i drink about one diet soda a week, if that. i don't have a problem with the carbonation. my doctor said i would have an issue drinking from straws, i don't but i don't use them. they have a drink called SWITCH if you want a little carbonation, it is an all natural carbonated fruit drink.

yeah shrink i saw one time said that you will feel better about yourself and not be a wallflower anymore and people will give you attention and things can get crazy. a few of my friends did that when they had to gastric bypass. i didnt really tell anyone i had the lapband thou just a handful of people. i am dipping my toe into the dating scene lol, and so far it has been interesting but nothing whirlwind. casual. congrats on the outcome though!!! hope my luck is as good as yours.

i exercise at various times during the day. depending on what classes are at my local swim club. i work third shift so i do some right after work and then other days i do some after i take a few hour nap. it totally varies. but i actually look forward to going to the gym now and taking all the different classes they offer. I AM MOTIVATED MORE NOW THAT I CAN SEE THE RESULTS!!!!!

not sure what to do. help me please
isis3180 replied to supnicolette's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i to had shoulder pain from the gas. i slept on the opposite side of it and rotated/moved/stretched it every 10-15 minutes while awake. it eventually went away after about 4 days after surgery. -
yes do check out the nutritional yeast and let me know what you think. i luckily dont have any food restrictions at all, so i can eat what i want that way. i loveth larabar's though they are my new favorite. they only have 9g protein but are so healthy and good for you.
-
i dont watch Dr. Oz or any show like that. i dont agree with a lot they say (just my personal feeling and they promote things that the sponsors pay them to say) i took a 12 week class on healthy eating and that was one suggestion they gave us. it tastes like chick bouillon a little so you can add it to any and everything you want.

for more protein try nutritional yeast. it has something like 8g in 2tsp. its tastes great and you sprinkle it on things, so the proteins add up that way over the day.

One Year Check Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
isis3180 replied to isis3180's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am going to post a picture of myself with the updated weight loss as soon as I can find my camera. -
if you look at the ingredients of most protein bars it is mainly a candy bar with higher protein. i would suggest protein shakes. there are many varieties out there to choose from. GNC has some, that are good. look for the more natural ingredients.

isis3180 replied to isis3180's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 45 pounds lighter one year later. I am doing fabulous and they are very pleased. I go back only if i need a fill and will be seen one year from now. I think that getting the lap-band was one of the smartest things i have done in this lifetime.
