It's not so much that it's will power as it is fear of throwing up. lol Plus, after going through all this surgery (I also had a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time) and losing a month of work, I'm just stubborn and determined to see that number on the scale drop. :-)

I'm curious about this as well. In fact, the whole reason I had WLS was BECAUSE I wanted a panniculectomy. After 7 pregnancies (5 deliveries) at "advanced maternal age" and a haphazard emergency c-section with the last one, I've had a lot of troubles with the pannos. My insurance has 3 criteria for the surgery. I met the first 2 but the 3rd one is WLS. It forced me to realize that indeed I was a "fat girl". It was a bittersweet moment..... depressing that I had let this happen to myself.... and sweet because this has been the best journey for me. But with the c-section, because of excessive amniotic fluid and cardiomyopathy, I wound up with a pulmonary embolism. My fear in getting the panniculectomy is wondering if I will be putting myself at risk for another blood clot. I'm curious to know how your recovery is going and what type of incision is done.

So, when you move past the tread mill & bike then start adding weights..... can anyone be more specific for me, please? It's been 10 yrs since I did a regular workout routine & I'm just picturing myself staring at the weights, going, "Hm, I'm supposed to do something with you.... but..... I got nothin'". lol

Mine was empty at surgery. Got my first fill (5 cc's) 1 month later. But I still felt some restriction.... and since I tend to be a "puker" (lol).... I wasn't taking any chances on overeating. lol Plus, I'm determined to reach my goal because I've had it with this mess of being obese so I stick to the diet whether I feel restriction or not. :-)

My First Fill Is In Four Days
Josoliviamaid replied to SunshineAna's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my first fill on Monday.... thought I was just going in for a follow up and didn't have time to eat anything beforehand, except my protein drink. But my doctor said everything looked good (I'm a month post-op) and we could do a fill. The fill procedure went off without a hitch and I held down the water just fine. I was told to go back to clear liquids for 48 hours. But I was STARVING and I had too many things scheduled in my planner (plus being a single mom of a big family) and only went 24 hrs on liquids.... I needed more nutrition than that! lol I went back to soft foods in small bites last night and I feel fine. My doctor gave me 5 cc's for my first fill. I keep expecting some adverse side effects or discomfort but so far, so good. Which is a good thing because I don't have time available in my schedule for that mess. lol I think the key is to pace yourself and go slow. Give your body time to adjust and expect the best. :-)
