Hi ladies I have been off this site for a couple months, but I'm back would love a band buddy ) -
Hello there! I got my band through True Results Scottsdale, AZ on 6/26/12. Let me tell u they are wonderful! I researched this procedure for years prior and was actually going to do it thru another doctor/ facility (terrry Simpson) a couple years prior but they were no help with anything!! The insurance part I had to do all the work and the staff was just RUDE! Then I found true results what a difference Wow! Got my surgery covered in 6 months, they did all the work. The staff is Amazing! I hope u experience the same! Best of luck

1St Fill Turned Into No Fill.
sharklove82 replied to lexx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That actually sounds pretty normal. My first fill took 3 pokes, with 2 nurse practitioners. They explained to me that if u have a real fatty stomach the more they have to push and probe around until they find port. They also told be they almost always have to try more than once your first fill but they documented measurements of where my port was so next time it would only take but one time. My second fill I also had to have 2 pokes 2 nurses. So just prepare yourself for they next couple of times it might be the same. The surgeon does not do fills at my office. Best wishes:) -

Stuck At This Weight!
sharklove82 replied to dalia93's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes totally understand, first the biggest thing I've learned with being banded is patience. Something I don't have very often but it's true it works on its time and very different for all. I was banded 6/26/12 and I am down 43 lbs but it has been a struggle. I am like u I exercise like crazy, hit the gym everyday sometimes twice a day. I find that I lose increments of 8 to 10 lbs. So like 2 weeks ago I lost 2 lbs everyday for a week then boom nothing for 2 weeks or more. Best of luck -
Thank u all, yes it's a hard balance. But I will increase my water intake hopefully that will help. I guess my issue is much harder cause if I don't go for a day with hemmroids, I'll pay big time when I do, so painful with hemmroids! Ugh <<sigh>>

Do u take daily? Or is it just when u haven't went in a couple of days? I will try thanks

I was banded 6/26/2012, and i just can't seem to stay regular! I take stool softener 2 to 3 times a day. I take fiber supplement twice a day besides eating fruits and veggies. I drink water all day long! And still dry, hard stool is what I get, which has caused hemmroids. Not fun stuff! Sorry if tmi but wondering if any one has any tricks, advice to help? O yeah miralax has stopped working for me as it seems everything else.

So I'm going to flagstaff, AZ tomorrow. The elevation is 6,910 feet above sea level and it has me worried. I just got a fill today Friday 9/7/12 of 1/2 cc for total of 8cc in a 14 cc band. I asked my doctor if it was ok to go, she said yes but my band would get tighter but I should be fine. Has anyone expircenced being in high elevation with band?? Please comment, I'm super nervous

For me I love to shop and buy new clothes all the time but I have found myself slowing down since I won't be in the same size for to long. Ive always been after good deals though, I don't know if you have a DD's discount or Ross near your area but I can find shirts and bottom for a steal 3.99 to 9.99 on tops and bottoms no more than 14 dollars. Also I have a couple of friends I sell my clothes to when they don't fit or have a yard sale to get cash for new clothes. Also check at your doctors office for support groups, mine has a group that exchanges clothes every month. Best wishes!
