So If You Know, Why Don't You....
ugot2laff replied to UTGal99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm also getting this from my mom, who also fights her weight but isn't as big as I am. Some of it I think is jealosy, which she does admit to, but I do believe alot of it is being worried about it. When it's all over and we are healthy and dropping the weight, they will understand more. It does hurt my feelings, especially being it's my mom and that should be the one person who supports you the most, but again, in my case anyway, it's being worried of the unknown. I suspect she will change her mind and come around after it's all said and done. Good luck to you!!! -
Ideas For Pre-Op Diet... Please Help!
ugot2laff replied to MsDallasSleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm on day 4 of 10 day liquid diet. I use the Premier protein shakes from costco. They have vanilla and chocolate. I use the chocolate and mix in a blender with ice and a squeeze of lemon juice and a little splenda. It's very filling. Other then that it's water, crystal light and I made a big pot of chicken noodle soup for my husband and I just drink the broth, which tastes very good and is filling. If you feel light headed and dizzy at all, drink more protein. The premier shakes have 2 gm of sugar and 30 gm of protein. They are the only ones I've tried that tastes the best. Good luck to you!! -

Blood Sugar Spikes On Pre Op Clear Liquid Diet?
ugot2laff replied to ugot2laff's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They didn't want me to crash i guess, having my blood sugar go too low. I've talked to the surgeons office and my primary and they both say the same thing, just keep testing my blood and report in to them. I do have to take my BP med and my thyroid meds, just the diabetes i'm off of. Maybe its telling me to get out and move my ass and walk a little more huh lol Hope your doing well!! -
Blood Sugar Spikes On Pre Op Clear Liquid Diet?
ugot2laff replied to ugot2laff's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the words of wisdom. Yes my surgeon took me off all diabetes meds until surgery. I just don't like how it makes me feel. Took a walk at lunch and it went down quite a bit, so feeling much better this afternoon. Hopefully when this is all said and done I can get off it for good. Good luck!! -
Hey Joyce, how is everything going?? The liquid diet has been a challenge so far but I'm off to a great start. I've had the headaches and dizziness from the lack of food and also on top of that my blood sugar has gone up because they took me off my meds. So double trouble. I have a great attitude about it and figure if I can't do this before I won't have the great success I want after. I know our surgeries are getting close so I wanted to check in with you to see how you were doing. Crossing my fingers for a smooth surgery for both of us and great success on our journey after!! Take Care Kelly

I'm on my first day of the clear liquid diet for 10 days. I had a cup of hot tea with lemon and splenda and I blended up my chocolate Protein Drink with some ice a little lemon juice and vanilla. It was very filling and surprisingly tasted pretty darn good. I was told to buy the Premier Protein shakes at costco or sams club. They have 39 gm of protein. It's definately not a chocolate milkshake but very doable. I seem to be in the right mind set for this so I havent had too many hurdles. Good luck to you and do just what your doctor tells you to do and you'll get the best results!!

Anybody Else Very Nervous About The Surgery And The Strict Diet Afterwards?
ugot2laff replied to vssupermodel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just bought my protein drinks at costco. It's called Premier Protein shakes. They have chocolate and vanilla. They only have 2 gr of sugar and they taste great! Well great compared to all the rest. I also bought the Magic Bullet blender there too and have mixed the chocolate protein shake with some frozen berries. I start my clear liquid diet sunday so I cant add the berries then, but you can mix is with ice, and a little coffe and make a blended coffee. I'm so ready for this challenge and can't wait to start getting results. My surgery is Aug. 1st. Good luck!! -

I think it's all a mind set. Am I nervous? Of course. I'm also very excited and after 48 years, I've made up my mind. It's all upstairs in my head. I'm ready for this now. My kids are raised and I have nothing, or no excuses left to stop me. Onward and upward. August 1st can't get here soon enough!!! -

Just had my consult with my doctor Friday the 6th. Very overwhelming to say the least. I have made my decision to push forward with the surgery. Have great friends and family that will help me get througth it. I've been reading all of your wonderful posts for over a month here and never made the decision to join you all til today. We all need all the help, support and encouragement we can get! My question to anyone out there is during the clear liquid diet, which is the best protein supplement you have used that got you through 2 weeks of this diet. Any information would be extremely helpful as my head is still realing from all the information i've received since Friday. I have diabetes and I'm doing this first and foremost for that but also to enjoy a more comfortable life without the weight, and to enjoy my new granddaughter Madelyn Marie, who is the light of my life.

ugot2laff replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
August 1st is my day to be sleeved. On my no carb diet now and I start my clear liquids on the 22nd. Can't wait to get this started. My son is getting married in May 2013 and I would love to have alot off by then and rock a gorgeous dress on his wedding day!! But I do know I need to be patient because everyone looses weight differently. I have diabetes and am really looking forward to getting off my medication and active again. Good thoughts and best of luck to all my fellow August sleevers, we have sooooooo much to look forward to and be thankful for!! -
Anyone A Patient Of Dr. Srikanth In Federal Way, Wa?
ugot2laff posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just wanted to see if anyone here might be a patient of Dr. Srikanth. I'm scheduled for surgery on August 1st and wanted to know others opinions on the Dr., St. Francis Hospital or any tips on the surgery itself.
