    2 days post op

I'm also two days post op. I am with Dr. Aceves in Mexicali. Day 1 was OK, I didn't feel too bad. You would think it would hurt but it didn't. Day 2 I couldn't hold anything down and had a lot of problems with acid Day 3 I don't throw up but acid is a problem. They though it was gas but meds that work are acid meds The staff here so nice, it makes coping with this much easier. In a western country a patient is just an annoyance. It seems everbody has a different experience with this...we hope we are going to be the lucky ones ....

  5. Thanks for the info Suzanne, I am scheduled for the 27th of May. Dr. Aceves has a great reputation, it is about the same cost as where I live but with him I think the chances of a complication are less. I have a 30 hours door to door trip home, I was wondering what to take on the plane.. I was thinking some whey Water mix and the medications you mentioned. Roger
  6. >medication that you will need after the surgery.... I would rather bring this with me Any other medication required other than the ones listed?

    Ghrelin and memory / learning?

I noticed this watching videos on youtube made by people who have VSG. They have a lot of trouble articulating. They stumble over their words, can't remember what they are saying, can't think what they should say. The effect is obvious so I am surprised nobody picked up on it. The wiki says something about the ghrelin stimulating nerve growth in the hippocampus. Since anti-depressants also affect nerve growth it might be possible to counter the lack of ghrelin by taking anti-depressants. I haven't had VSG yet so I am just observing.
