I was banded 7-05 and in Dec I had my gall Bladder removed. Trust me when you have those attacks the idea of another surgery is worth it. My attacks would come out of nowhere and I handle pain very well but when they hit I was on the floor crying like a baby and I looked like a fish flopping around-It felt like something was tearing my insides out(childbirth was a breeze compared to this). My doc said it was because of the weight loss-I had an ultrasound and he thought it might have some sludge but when he took that joker out it was full of tiny stones. The surgery wasnt that bad I left the hospital the same day and in 2 days I was up truckin again!

I actually clicked on the tickler thing on another profile and it took me to the web site but I thought it might mess up their tickler so I exited the site.
-
My doc says when I loose 20 more pounds he should be able to get it in the office-he better because I got a fill the beginning of this month and he did it under x ray-the hospital accidentaly billed me( Im still in the one year frame The Dr is responsible for the bill) and it was $504.76-so I cant be paying that everytime I need a fill.
-
So did you exit this web site totally or what--my tickler skills suck!!
-
Thats the way I feel mine. It sucks when I get fills because my port is tilted so I have to lay on my side a little bit and he has to do it under x-ray otherwise I become his pin cusion. Even under X-ray he usually sticks me at least 5 times.

I was banded 7-5-05 and I had similar prob and I was having attacks-felt like heart attack, it would last a couple of hours and then as soon as it came it was gone. Went to my doc and he said I needed my gall bladder removed. He told me when you loose alot of weight your gall bladder can get gall stones and even bile obstruction or something like that. The day I had my gall bladder removed in pre-op there were 6 other women waiting to get theirs out also-he said women have more problems than men.

Me and my husband plan on having 2 more kids, and the thing I wonder about is I know when you get pregnant they take all the saline out of the band, but with my first baby throwing up was a daily ritual for most of the nine months? Has anybody had any babies while being banded. I had to pay $18,000 for my surgery and it also covers fills and the risk of slippage and erosion for 1 yr and my year is up 7-5-07. So if it slips, I'm in big trouble.

To be honest I dont have a clue. My insurance is very crappy. I stay at home with my 16 month old and we are self employed-its hard to get good health insurance when you are overweight. But I totally see what you are saying.

Homosexual Liberal Atheists ~ What's UP with that?
ghettofarm24 replied to paladin's topic in Rants & Raves
I think you misunderstood me i am not a homosexual and the Bible is clear that, that is something God hates-All I was saying is that as Christians-which means little Christs-we are commanded to love everyone. -

God answered your question about being a believer thousands of years ago when he sent his only Son, Jesus to die for your sins. I am a conservative Christian and I love homosexuals they are people just like us-the only thing is I hate the sin not the sinner. Trust me I am not perfect myself but when we ask Jesus to forgive us and truly mean it you are a new creation in Christ-his blood covers all of your and MY sins!! -
I just joined this yesterday and I have really enjoyed it and it has helped so much. I do notice quite a few have had slippage and erosion of the band - How do you know when it slips or when it erodes? :girl_hug:

Drinking while eatting? I'm having a problem.
ghettofarm24 replied to skinnyrebal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded 7-05 and I still struggle with the whole drinking while eating issue. It defeats the purpose if you drink while eating because it does wash it down and I can feel it- when I drink liquids I eat more than I should. I am having to break myself of this habit because I have been doing it my whole life and little by little I am getting much better. Its esier not to drink while eating when you are at home, when you eat your meal just dont fix yourself a drink, but at retaurants its harder to me because if you dont get a drink people think-OK, whats wrong with her- but I will just get a glass of water and take like one or two tiny sips. Just remember some habits are hard to break just be persistent and we will all learn our new habits together. Good Luck!! -

New from Oklahoma - question about surgery
ghettofarm24 replied to tulsarose's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I thought that they just placed the band around your stomach I am pretty sure my Dr didn't suture me? I had the LapBand 7/06 and it was so so worth it. Recovery -to me-was not that bad at all. I asked my Dr about slippage and he said unless you eat a 20oz T-Bone and wash it down with a whole pie or cake the chances of the band slipping are very rare. I just joined this web site so i guess we are both new. If you have any more questions I am here to help. -
I feel the exact same way as you. I was banded 7/06 and I have had several fills I now have 2.3cc's and I can feel a little restriction but I don't think I am at my magic number yet. I tell my Dr hey Im not eating a cup or 1/2 a cup I am eating more than that and he is like thats fine-he always says the lap-band can hold more than the bypass. I see him 3/13 and I am gonna tell him I need another fill because I know I need more restriction.
-
Thank you so much, you have really lost alot of weight. How much is in your band now? To me I still eat alot more than they say I should but my Dr says lap-bands hold more than the bypass. I am just so ready to get rid of all this weight. Thanks for the encouragment
