I keep a lighted magnifying mirror on my dresser with a pair of tweezers next to it. It is just the right height. I look for stray hairs just about everyday. Once a week, I shave with a razor.

Let's put this in perspective...When was the last time you were able to lose 57lbs in 6 months (disregarding childbirth)? Try hard not to compare yourself to others. Celebrate your accomplish. I'm proud of you! That number has no place to go but down!

We are all different, but for me, it would have been possible. A week after surgery, I was back at work with no issues. I slept a bit longer than usual. I started falling asleep around 9pm instead of 11pm. At 3 weeks post op, I was back to my normal sleep schedule.

For the first week after surgery, I was two pounds higher than my pre-op weight. It'll happen for you!

KeepingMySoul replied to ImprovedDreamerGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first bowel movement was a few hours after the swallow test. It went right through me. -
....worked So Hard...and Only 30 Oz Of Fluids...

I'm itching too! I haven't heard anyone talk about it before now, so I thought it was just me. I am trying so hard not to scratch. I do a light rub through my clothes. So aggrevated! -
Most Humiliating Fat Moment
KeepingMySoul replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At a public pool, I sat in one of those flimsy plastic chairs, and it crumpled. I didn't break it, but it bent to one side, and I fell out. I had never even considered that a chair wouldn't good my weight, so I was shocked. Of course being pointed and laughed at by teenagers in bikinis didn't help. What I hate the most is meeting my new boyfriend's friends and family. They stare me up and down -

I was able to go after the swallow test and again the next day, but nothing in the last 4 days. I don't have any pain, and I am still on liquids.

Migraines And The Sleeve?
KeepingMySoul replied to findingme2012's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I have migraines and had to come off my meds. I had a mild headache before surgery, and I was able to take my meds after the swallow test. -
I was there at the same time as the large group, and I did not get the same experience as others have talked about on this forum. I had different expectations and was disappointed with my experience. Ultimately, my surgery went smoothly which was the most important part. There seemed to be no coordination, and it was very unorganized. My opinion is that the large group monopolized much of the resources available for the patients. My friend and I managed to accommodate ourselves, but we did not get any meals away from the hospital or hotel area or any shopping trips. I met Sunny and her husband. She did stay an extra two days, and I believe it was due to an allergic reaction. I could tell she was bothered that her experience wasn't what she expected either. She is a super sweet girl, and we both have every right to be put off by what was going on. Ultimately, if you want individual attention, book on a week that isn't so busy.

Travel / Surgery Insurance?
KeepingMySoul replied to ATLSara's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Have you considered catastrophic coverage. It is sometimes called a high deductible plan.
