    So Coffee?

And by the way, when I got sleeved I told my doctor that coffee was the ONLY thing I couldn't live without. Go figure.

    So Coffee?

My Dr. said I could have coffee inmediately after surgery. Before sleeved, I'd had 2-4 cups a day. Funny thing is, at two weeks out, I am still waiting "to want it". Somehow, it hasn't been appetizing to me yet. I miss the ritual, and I'm sure at some point it will come back.

    Today Is My Day

You will have a million questions after. We'll be here!!!
  4. So after 2 weeks out, I decided to clean out my closet. An activity that took me 3 hrs. No heavy lifting. When I was done, the area around my biggest incision started to hurt. Like when at beginning. Feels so tight and tender. The pain has continued a day after. My PA had worned me that when people become more active, the muscles under start hurting. Its REALLY tender. I have my 2 week pre op appt Wednesday. Should I call before then, wait? Should I be concerned? Any one experienced the same?
  5. So I was doing fine, but my weight loss has stopped for 3 days now. Any ideas on why so soon? I am taking in around 500 calories and 50 gr of protein. Most of that from protein shakes. Any thoughts?

    Why Are/were You Fat?

Well I was 140 lbs beforw pregnancy at 28. Then I gained 80 lbs with my pregnancy and never lost them. The sad thing is that at 220 lbs, I was too comfortable in my own skin. I was wearing a tankini at the beach a remember! I felt beautiful. It wasn't until I went through a divorce, when back to school, got a stressful job and gained an additional 40 lbs when I started feeling uncomfortable in my own skin. For 7 years, I was between 250-262 until the day the day of my surgery. That day i was 258.5. That was 2 weeks ago, on July 9th. I am at 243 now . The lowest I've been in a looong time. Tankini, mama is coming back!!!!!
  7. Congratulations!!! Good job!!!!

    Soar Throat

I had the same experience at 5 days out. Sore throat, chest congestion, slight temperature. I called the doctor. He checked my lungs. They were clear. Had me do some blood work to check for any infections. Fine. He said it was gas resulting from anesthesia. Body responding to the surgery. I took Nyquil for a couple of nights and then I was fine.

    Weight Lost In 6 Weeks

What was your starting weight? I was sleeved a day after you. I started at 258 and now I am 244. I've lost 14 lbs in two weeks. I think you are doing fantastic.
  10. I have the pain exactly where you say. I have an incision there too that is so tight, that looks almost as a second belly button. I was told that was the incision where they took out the removed part of my stomach. I take Tynelol when it hurts. My Dr.'s assistant says it will go away with time.
  11. I wanted to ask if there are veteran sleevers out there that didn't have hair loss. What do you think helped? How many grams of protein you were eating at the beginning? How many calories? Were you taking zinc?
  12. Yay!!!!!! Congrats!!! What was your starting weight?
  13. I am sure that you will. And as someone that is only 2 weeks out, I can tell you that I can't wait until I can be a regular size. I am a size 24. My favorite store to shop is Target, but their plus size section seems so marginalized. On a little corner, with so little options. Cheer up!!!! You are right there where a lot of us would love to be!! And it is only going to get better for you.
  14. I was trying to project what size I would be if I lost x amount of weight. I remember being 166 lbs and a size 14. Seems like a size is 25 lbs. If that is so, I'd be a size 12 at 141 lbs. I've seen other people posts saying they are a size 6-8 at the same weight, with a hight not so far from mine. How is that possible? I have a large built, 5'4".
  15. Thank you so much for the info!!
  16. Ever since I got home I can't sleep. It's like my mind thinks I should be resting an recovering from surgery, but my body disagrees. I also find that reading, watching tv or being on the Internet make a bit dizzy and uncomfortable. I feel like I am not interested in anything to keep me entertained until I recover and do more things. HELP!

    Before And After

    Thank you for sharing!!
  18. Try sugar free popscicles when you feel you can't drink. Only 2 oz of water, but every little helps. I would focus on water intake, as you can get a little dizzy. As for protein, you can sip on protein shakes. A single one has 35 gr of Protein. Dont worry if you cant do it all at the beginning. Don't be afraid , or nervous. Every single day it gets easier. You can do this!

    Help With Co2 Gas Pain

I also was sleeved July 9th. I had gas pain between my shoulders up to yesterday. When do you have your first post op appt? It should be coming pretty soon. If its not gone by then, or if it gets worse, call the medical assistant from your doctors office. They are very helpful and she/he will have you go in if something is wrong.
  22. Thank you all for the good advise. You all great!
  23. Nyquil knocked me out right away. Now that I don't have a cough anymore, I won't take it, as its not a long term solution. I think I'll try the Tynelol PM and start with that.
