Need Advice Im 21 Yrs Old And Im 3 Weeks Post-Op And Im Getting Tired That I Can't Have At Least One Bite Of Foods I Love.
iggychic replied to Karen2012's topic in Food and Nutrition
I think benj gave you some very great feedback that you obviously don't want to hear. At your age, with your mindset you could end up being one of the few for which this surgery fails if you can't get a hold of your issues. My doc wouldn't have approved you for surgery if he read "I'm addicted to food and just want to eat less" because he would know that failure is a high possability. No one wants to see that Hun, that you post here a year out with no significant changes because it wasn't the effortless program you had hoped for. Really, we don't, which is why benj shared his thoughts as he did. -
Alcoholic Drink Recommendation
iggychic replied to Gastricsleeve4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here's a fun drinking scenario....I have a charity martini party on the 17th which will be pre op. so no drinking. I will be doing this entirely sober in a huge blonde Afro and a kagpftan of yellow orange and green with five inch platforms....yes a 70s party. I'm not sure it's legal to wear that get up sober....lol -
August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
iggychic replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Our preop is Atkins so I'll be fine at Disney. Honestly I love a great steak so I'll do fine. I may just miss my wine...given the whining that the kids will do lol but otherwisenim so invested in this happening I'll be great! -
Alcoholic Drink Recommendation
iggychic replied to Gastricsleeve4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Despite what people think, white or red wine has very low carbs (both are about the same at 4 per glass). Sangria is high in sugar as is cranberry juice. I'd sip a white wine and enjoy it. Riesling from Germany is lower in alcohol by the way than other whites. So it won't go to your head as fast. -

Woo goo! Talk about fast track. I was supposed to meet with the nut the week of the 23 but I'm having a dozen house guests that week so ummm it's tomorrow. Surgeon appt on the 23 and I'm pencilled in for my date on aug 21! (as long I can prove I'm otherwise healthy, have the cash, and am not a nutcase)! Pencil me in!!!!!! Weeeeeee -
Why Are My "supporters" Questioning My Choice.....? (Long)
iggychic replied to charmichelle's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My doc (when I was doing ivf) used to say to women who claimed women who used drugs during child birth were taking the easy way out. She said that the aztechs have been proven to have preformed major surgery, including heart surgery without the use of modern antibiotics and anesthesia. She suggested that if they needed a bypass etc, that they do so not taking the easy way out....put their money where their mouth is . She said she once handed a future dad a clam shell (tool for cutting) to illustrate the point. Again, it shuts them right up lol. -
Removal Of X-Tra Stomach?
iggychic replied to ConnieSings's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In a worst case scenario of needing additional calories, I've been through it with my son who was FTT for three years with chronic malabsorption due to diarrhea. There are ways to get small amounts of highly nutritional calorie laden fluids in your body. For him, he had small amounts of special formulas every hour 24/7. In addition there are very easy to absorb calorie additives that can be put into foods. Needing "more stomach" just isn't necessary in today's medical world so let that one go . -
Be sure to add your name to the August threads. There are other folks on the same date that you can chat with (that's my target date btw so hopefully I'll be joining you!)

Minnie, I'm going to Disney land aug 6 (which will be unbearably hot I know) with my six year old and a friend of his (2 moms, a dad, two kids and a nanny). When you are ready to back look at this house we are renting called the Disney theme home. (you can google it). It's a bit pricy if you don't share the costs but for us it was better than multiple hotel rooms and it's so freaking cool! My surgery will be right after the trip hopefully so I'll want to visit skinny again as well lol. -

Why I Don't Like To Depend On Others

Yup butter that's my box. That pic was taken in the 80s (that fence is long gone and we've put in a more appropriate one). I've also redone the gardens in a more formal style as they were in 1890ish). Funny I was at the garden store a couple of towns away and the gal knows me because I've bought so many hydrangeas (I have 73 different ones now lol). We got to talking and she asked if she could stop and see the garden...conversation went to where it was and I found out she spent her honeymoon at my house...in my bed lol! (we bought it fully furnished). Thank you all for the compliments. They mostly belong to mr james, the original builder (James street in Seattle, James island off of the coast and the founder of pioneer square in Seattle). This was his retirement home away frim his native england. We do love this old box but I do like to caution folks looking at these big old houses. This one is in great shape, but our original estimate to rehab was 500k which we now realize will be more like a couple mill. It's 8000 sq ft of work work work! Eventually work that's hopefully museum quality, but even at half of that it wouldn't be enough. But we've been blessed and sharing it with the house feels right to us. We share those blessings by letting charities use it for fund raising as well which is fun for us too. Lol I feel like this is the old house website! This topic has taken a different turn...but an oh so positive one. I hope the end of the day was a great one for all! -
Pre Op Diet Question
iggychic replied to JourneyOfAFatKid's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh I love hearing that time line Kerry! Did you have to do a sleep study by any chance? I really don't want to but will do what I must. We are going to Disney aug 6 to the 10th so I am hoping either the next week or the week of the twentieth because the little guy will be back in school (he's year round this year). -
Why I Don't Like To Depend On Others
iggychic replied to CJ_Redux's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cj...omg that is one sexy house! I mean truly sexy lines! What a gem. Mind you I can tell you from experience you probably need to pump half a mill or more into it but what's money when you have your own Cinderella turrets! They have a pretty tight timeline on restoration though. We are on a six year plan (one major project a year basically) and even with all or most of the work being done for us we are still pushing it to be done then. But I hope someone saves it. It's unreal! Our house is the original McMansion (1890s version). It fills it's entire lot and blocks the neighbors views. Better construction than today's McMansions, but it was still built to show off the original owners money bags lol. I wonder if he would keel over again if he knew what it will cost to restore it right? I don't know how to post a link here but if you google James house port Townsend aw you'll see a gazillion pics since it was a b&b for so long. I couldn't tell you how many people have slept and even died in my bed lol....but we have since changed the sheets . -
Why I Don't Like To Depend On Others
iggychic replied to CJ_Redux's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol yes it's sheer glamour...I like to think I'm one of the real housewives of Beverly hills, but am probably more akin to the Beverly hillbillies. Whenever I'm getting too full of myself my son or dog or cat tends to drop a hair all or whatever they've hacked up into my lap to bring me back to reality heh heh. -
Pre Op Diet Question
iggychic replied to JourneyOfAFatKid's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did talk with Swedish as well but settled on billings. Interesting they do the same diets . I'll read your other post Kerry, and thanks! I have my first appt this Monday then with billings on the next. They think I can be fast tracked into an August date because I am a lower bmi with no complicating factors and I'm paying cash which means no insurance goober. I'm hoping for the week of the 20th when my son goes back to school. I can't wait lmao...for surgery no less...what a goof! -

Soon your cloths will be so small they'll not weigh much in a basket . And I'm glad it worked out finally. I'm kind if the go to girl as well but I've learned to put my foot down when life becomes insane (remind me of that next week while I'm getting ready to host 12 house guests for a week lol). -
August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
iggychic replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think it's absolutely hilarious that we are jealous of other peoples surgery date (I am included in the jealous group because all I have is a "looks like August" date). What kind of freak is jealous about surgery lmao. Ok me heh heh. So how about a fun q of the day? Do you have any major award planned for yourself along the way down the scale or at the end? I had planned a major shopping spree with a personal shopper at nordstroms but for the same outrageous amount (heh heh) I am thinking of buying a piece of art crystal that dh and I are both coveting. The reason being that while it's a Victorian abstract piece, the shape looks like a very sexy lady to us both....and I want to look like her . Looking at her in the parlor everyday would be a great reminder of my success. And then I'll go shopping later lol. -

Skye....that shirt is out of fashion...and I can't wait to see you bring it back in lol! . I'd kill to look hot in that heh heh. I need to photo my suit . It's my half way goal and probably as out of vogue...but honey I'm gonna rock it just like you
