Which Is Worse....vsg Or C-Section?
iggychic replied to Nick'sMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My whole story is in the stories section, (called someting like the story you don t want to read but should). Basicallly I had a COMMON complicatiion of internal bleeding. My life not consists of living in druggy lala land or having spasams all day. And just to add grins to giggles....I havent lost any weight at all. I butchered myself and and now debilitated, and still over weight. I am a very strong person....I cry a lot! -

I would have six hundred c sections before i'd do this again. I was laid up 4 days on the c, i am still on full bedrest after 21 days from vsg. -

Has Any One Got Sleeved Throu Kaiser
iggychic replied to Jimbo_D's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I spoke with kaiser in seattle. it took hem three weeks to return the initial email in which she suggested I gain 40 pounds before calling back. She did not respond to any additional emails demonstratingg i met the self pay qualifications. i considered complaining but got busy. At a coctail party in seattle we ran into a member of the board.. I shared my experience with her. She was horrified. I received a call the next weekday offering to fast pace me through the program and elected not to do so. I have a short tollerance for lazy and if that is how their intake staff are...gad can you imagine the rest of them. One should never have to speak to a board member about an issue just to get a call back. Hopefully the kaiser you are dealing with is more on the ball. -
I Know I Shouldn't Complain But...
iggychic replied to Sleevedreamz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been purreeing my son's food for almost seven years now. literaly everything you can eat you can puree. the only real callenges are high bread based items. they turn gummy in the blender just as they do in our stomach. For my son, i make some favorites like cambels bean with bacon Soup. To enhance texture and vegis I do it 50 non diluted soup, about 30 percent pureed carrots and 20 percent ground ham. To ground ham appropriately you can add eiter sugar free syrup or the Water from the carrots. I add water (and for him syrup because i need to enhance calories signiicantly) to whatever texture im shooting for, which for him is aboiut mashed potatoes. Warm each item first. It will gound in a food processer easier (i prefer that a blender) Beef with aujus and potatoes woks well too. He loves that. bananas with vanilla yoghurt. i have blended whole pies...just add suga free yogurt. -
people say c section is the easy way out. these "people" are always men or women who chose "natural birth" (usually in a wading pool in their basement but i wont go there". im three weeks out tomorrow and still too weak to leave my bed. ya this is super easy!

August Sleevers. What Is The Progress? How Are You Feeling
iggychic replied to Lucabelle1313's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
you can read the full version in the stories section (its called the story you dontmwant to read but should) but basically i hav a 1 in 400 complication for any surgery, internal bleeding. it causes severe spasms which can only be controlled with muscle relaxants, which you cant take because your blood pressure tanks and it puts you in danger of heart failure. until the blood is worked out of my body i am in pain and very weak. i thought the cat scan would have good news yesterday but it isnt disipating as fast as we hopped. i may be stuck in bed several more weeks. -

3.5 Months Out - Bleeding
iggychic replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
suz, i have a strong affinity for live people. dead people are debbie downers imo. so when i see some one posting a question which could present a serious issue in the near future for a poster i respond with an appropriate level of urgency to the situation. note that idid not agree or disagree this could be hemoroids as she wished us to say. nor did i mention her tom because the absence of that in her first post lead me to believe that was not an issue. i in fact offered no possible diagnosis because she is not my patient and i am not her doctor. people offer up possible diagnoses to posts of this nature are in fact not living at the top of the mental food chain. that helpful chitter chat could lead to some ones death. im not going to shy away from a post like this because if one out of five people posting this type of thing goes "oh geeze i should go to the er". than ive done the right thing. DO NOT insult my medical condition. the valium makes it difficult to see my key board clearly so i often miss spaces or hit the wrong letter. it does not make me mean if you aretrying to say that. not funny and definately worth an apology. -
3.5 Months Out - Bleeding
iggychic replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
this is a classic case of why people "rant" elsewhere. ok no blood now so ill just wait til it happens again. seriously folks, when blood flows from areas of your body it does not normlly flow from. see your doctor tht day! if that was said with too much passion....i dont care. i used to be a volunteer firefighter emt. i prefer live people to dead ones so i take this seriously. when blood is involved, waiting for more is not terribly bright. -

Low Bmi Almost 5 Months Out 42 Lbs Gone
iggychic replied to AZ Sunshine's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
people with less that 100lbs tp lose in generql tend to have less issues with skin as others do. but there are some factors, such as how lomg youve carried the weight, do you exercise, etc. for those of us who exercise we have the best chance of having zero to no lose akin issues. -
id get some blood work done and check your Iron level. miscarriages are natoriously hard on them. yes eat better and keep potassium and iron in mind, but iron is going to likely need to be suplimented to bring you back up. this, wis have an amazing effect on your energy levels. btw, my one way of dealing with the loss of all my babies is to get very clinical talking about the situation so if i didnt say it, please understand i am sorry for your loss!
