Im Down Too A Size 14 Was A 22...just One Question... Soda
iggychic replied to angelofmercy36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
nothing is "bad period" as long as moderation is used. my doc (the good one) and i were discussing champagne day 3 after my second surgery. he said the main issue is discomfort due to trapped gas so give it some time after surgery and dont drink it with food....let it slide down through easily. i imagine soda would be much the same. -

My Journey Is Starting
iggychic replied to Pepper Paul's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I of course wish you the best Paul. Dr. C was the first to deny me a leak test while I was in hospital because it was expensive. That was day two of my journey. I'm fairly certain that they don't nearly kill all of their patients though because most of his staff is posting today so hopefull you'll be fine -
Can You Fly For 10 Hours 4 Days After Surgery?
iggychic replied to bakawaka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, not only do you risk DVT but you won't have the energy. You will also be putting yourself far away from your medical care and most issues arrise in the first 7 days (leaks). I think you should change your surgery date if you can't change the trip. -
Men: Telling "the Guys" About Your Surgery
iggychic replied to OneManWolfpack's topic in The Guys’ Room
Thats already been done...he has to go with something more original. How about the "if it lasts more than four hours seek medical attention" line we hear on tv now a days? Or is admitting a limp dohickie and a little blue pill worse than going straight vagina? Do you know how hard that was to write within the rules lmao? -

Will I Ever Enjoy Another Latt Again?
iggychic replied to akwitham72's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You do know that doing this puts your tummy at high risk for ulcers. Ulcers in a sleeve means you can lose your stomach..... -
I sat next to dinner with a gal who owns a large winery who drank along with us all night just fine. She's two years out I believe but wine is their business so I think she gets lots of practice I'd guess she had four generous glasses of wine that night at least.

Heavyness In Chest? First Couple Of Weeks
iggychic posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey ya'll. It's been 8 weeks and 2 weeks since my surgery and I've forgotten how you "feel" the first few weeks, partially because I didn't feel normal last time, and partially cuz well I've forgotten what I've read since it's been so long. So I know I have more bloating than usual because of multiple surgery's and complications. But I'm basically in week two again and I feel full up to my chest (if that makes sense). I'm having a really hard time getting in liquids and Protein and I need them both. I'm on full liquids now. Is this normal? Or for those with complications....is this normal for us? I'm wondering if the chest pain (which is not dangerous) is just pressure from my rib cage pain and swelling when they stuck the garden hose down there....that most can't comment on LOL thank god! But how did you feel normal or complications a couple of weeks out? -

Sadly, attending a church makes you no more of a christian than standing in a garage makes you a car. Some people don't get what they're supposed to out of it As we've seen here.

Weigh More After Surgery
iggychic replied to UTGal99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I left the first surgery 18lbs heavier than i came in. I then gained a total of 40lbs over the next 44 days due to further surgery's. But today I'm down 25 from the original weight...though my belly looks like those starving kid adds. Doc said I may lose as much as 20 lbs in the next week or two from post (I had three more surgical procedures) surgery's. So how much have I lost LOL I find it quite confusing. I didn't even put the 40 overage in my tracker because I knew it was all IV Fluid and swelling. HE did say that the trick to letting go of the surgery weight is to get your Water in and WALK! Moving helps a lot. -

Shocked By Sleeve Experience!
iggychic replied to TamaraS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Actually, Having had mine break without me doing anything stupid, (ie eating textures prior to the doctors schedule) I would have to say I'd disagree with you. Apparently you had an easy journey....try having tubes stuck down your back into your lungs daily...or a garden hose forced between your ribs for a week...leaks kill and they're worth panicing over.
