LOL Gabby, I'd trade you hospital stays ANYTIME!

In 22 days of hospital, not eating anything I gained 40lbs LOL So much for weight loss surgery. I've been out a week now and while it's coming off, my stomach is so bloated and uncomfy from the extra Water weight I whine about it constantly LOL

where were you when i needed you lol

it only takes one leak to kill...people develop leaks via doctor error as well as through patient error and just bad luck. but they are all diagnosed the same way.
-
-
anyone who actually experiences a leak will beg to differ with that level of arrogance i would agree not everyone needs a barium swallow (leak test) but when you do, even the most progressive docs know that a swallow test is not old school.

YUP and i barely lived to regret it! major surgery should be done in a hospital.
-
i answered in the other question you asked. why the same q twice?
-
I did for my first surgery. For the second (due to complications of the first) I was in a hospital. i chose outpatient because i was so low risk and because i spent years in hospital when my son was a baby. this is MAJOR surgery. a day surgical center is not properly equipped to handle serious complications. i needed a blood transfusion which i had to be sent to hospital for (in an ambulance in great pain at additional costs of course). this is not outpatient surgery. not in the US nor in Mexico. Have your surgery at a hospital....a good one!

honestly i was just curious my prev nut was of the opinion that after you lose you should maintain a balanced diet including carbs, fat etc i could see that a rice cake would be a nice crunchy treat
-
I'm not trying to start anything LOL but just wanted to ask....would't a rice cake be sort of a slider food? (I'm actually not against slider foods if you can control yourself, I'm just curious).

Actually, what she is trying to replicate is the artificial and fake cake. A healthier alternative is to make your own cake. FLourless chocolate cake is devine and given you can only eat a few bites it won't blow the calorie budget and will satisfy the craving. Cake from a quality bakery (not safeway type) is better for you than a twinkie etc.

I love a woman who is obsessed with my fav couple...Anne and Calvin. You know...if those two had a love child of fashion design...I'd be bankrupt LOL What a nice story to read first thing in the morning. You're rocking your sleeve and some fashion! Way to go!

Low Bmi So Not Eligible For Surgery.
iggychic replied to taide's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I read about it in a thread that was about mexico (she actually did have severe complications and had to be rushed to the US via ambulance). I'd suggest that anyone who is interested in this should post a question in the mexico or self pay forum and I'm sure whoever brought it up will answer with details. I believe it was offered through their mexican doctor but covers US medical coverage. -
I'd I spell that right? I'm curious. Have any of you used these during the early stage when the surgery weight was bloating you? It's not on my " never use" list and I was thinking it might help eliminate the bulk and pain in my midsection (from below the breast to the top of my legs) . I feel and look like a starving baby from those commercials that I always turn off cuz they break my heart. I know it's swelling and Water weight gain from 22 days on ivs in hospital, but it's fairly not comfy..I feel 15 months pregnant!

Low Bmi So Not Eligible For Surgery.

Most won't cover for complications/ additional care necessary after a no covered/elective surgery. It's a fairly standard clause. ( I was a licensed agent when I was a private banker). Ours is only covering because we are self insured (our company) and we pay the premiums. But we were surprised they did, even in that case. So budget in the insurance. It's better than nothing and I know that the 250,000 we will pay minimum for complications would have been painful to cough up! -

Low Bmi So Not Eligible For Surgery.

i told my friends it was basically risk free (aside from normal surgery risks...which are lower laproscopic). boy was i wrong! i had no comorbidities, was relatively active, followed the program to a letter...and had a doc with horrible followup. i have heard of complication stories with mexico and the major issue is they cant really follow up and you end up having difficulty getting follow up if you need it here. and then if you do have complications your insurance typically wont cover them. so i had it here...paid four times as much as you to be butchered and we will see at least $250,000 in additional bills due to lack of follow up! I think there are good and bad docs in both places. if you are in a quality hospital there i think you are in good shape on the risk level. But i would definately buy followup insurance...which most of the good ones sell). In mex or the US I could afford either so i went local thinking id not lose as much time with my family. i lost 45 days id say you made a better choice lol
