  1. The typical "natural miscarriage" (the only correct kind) is to have a miscarriage that happens naturally, not induced with drugs or other poisons to the fetus and to not have a D&C afterwards. All of my miscarriages were "natural" because I didn't need the further procedure. Then there is the bad kind...people choose to poison their fetus (done with drugs or herbs that will damage it) which often leads to nothing more than a brain damaged, or physically damaged baby who makes it to term carrying the maiming their parents chose to inflict on them. If you are not ready to have this child, I carry no judgement and suggest you consider a medical abortion before it's too late legally. But don't try to kill your fetus on your own....that's nothing more than torture when it does not work. We shared a room at Hopkins with a little girl from Mexico who had experienced her mother attempting an herbal "natural" abortion. Half an arm and severe mental disturbances due to the damage done to her brain...and she was only 3. Don't be a fool...don't do this to a child you don't want. There are pain free options for the fetus you can easily take advantage of verses attempting to kill it on your own. And miscarriage "natural miscarriage" is an easy way to say abortion for many. I'm not against abortion...but when you knowingly remove a viable fetus from your body it's an abortion. Clear and simple, no matter how you label it. When I was pregnant I had testing done on each fetus to determine if it carried any serious issues (down syndrome etc). Had I have had a down's child I would have aborted the fetus. NEVER would I have taken that medical procedure into my own hands.
  2. I hope you are able to move it, but really...you can not host that party. You'll never make it and taking a risk so close to surgery is playing with fire. I almost died from a leak and hate to hear of them, especially when brought on by overdoing it.

    No Energy! !

It needs to be sublingual b12 at this point, and you also need to assess your food intake. You are early out and not getting enough Protein which means your body is not healing properly. You mentioned not enough calories....how many shy are you? You really have to concentrate on protein, calories and liquids early out of the box or your body won't heal and you'll be tired constantly, no matter how much b12 you take. And I sound like a lecturing fool....but honey I give myself that same lecture every day. I also was trying to avoid the shakes but finally after several weeks of being shy of my protein goal I have decided to add one a day to my routine so that I make goal (I'm in a stall as well). When I am able to eat more food due to less restriction I will cut the shakes back out, but they are a necessary evil for some of us....
  4. The other thing I think of is that if you are remotely normal, like 95% of us, you won't be able to do this and you will leave those guests scrambling for where to have their holiday meal. I had scheduled a charity dinner for 20 at my house two weeks after surgery. It had been scheduled months in advance, prior to even knowing I was having surgery. I originally planned to do it, but as time went on, it became clear that I was not going to be in shape to do the party, even though I hadn't planned on eating. Finding another house able to seat 20 for a sit down meal, with china, silver, blah blah blah was not an easy task to say the least, but had we tried to go through with it we would have had a disaster. I paid handsomely for another family to host it and the guests had a wonderful time. I thank god I made that decision to cancel, because it would have been not only a negative for me, but for those guests as well. In my mind, the comfort of my guests is key to a good time!
  5. I once dated a guy....he must have lost 700lbs No brains what so ever...but I liked to say he had charms only apparent to the naked eye

    Scared Im Done Losing

have a glass of wine and a cookie and you'll feel bette....umm thats another board, scratch that Stalls are common, and after six months they tend to last longer and become more frequent than in the first six months, but you just have to reassess what you are doing and see if it's your body adjusting, or if you've adjusted and let some stuff slide into your daily life that you might have to let go of again until you've met goal.
  7. Or you could have terrible complications and feel horrific. Let's not sugar coat it. Do you really want, and are you committed to this surgery. It will change your life, and yes you can stay "thick" or get thin, whatever you wish, so that worry isn't a real concern. Will it hurt and will you struggle after surgery, yes, most likely for some time as you deal with the changes in your body and food restrictions. But why on earth did you sign up for this in the first place if you didn't understand that? There must be a reason and if there was, you need to be thinking about that reason and why you want to either move forward or change your mind. If you decide not to proceed, you need to ask yourself what else you are going to do to accomplish whatever your goal was in deciding on this surgery.....
  8. Sausage is not soft food. It's for near the end stages of your restrictions. Did you also use cheese? I'd watch the type of cheese in the early soft food stage. Soft food is eggs, SOFTLY scrambled. Was your omelet cooked through? That alone could be an issue. When I was on softs I had scrambled eggs, with which I used Water to mix them, not milk (you get a fluffier and softer egg that way...milk with egg makes custard). I also had either ketchup or salsa with it to keep it moist. Adding meats and cheese (which cooks up hard if you did use it) equates to "hard" food, not soft. Stick to the cottage cheese and if you want an egg, make it just one, and skip the fillings for now.

    Tattoo Ides?

OK here's one not to get....I worked in banking, the higher you get on the food chain the moe conservative it gets (we have a saying...."tattoo yourself unemployable"). So I was looking for a new assistant and got the resume of the goddess of assistants....I wanted to hire her over the phone but she was too good to be true so I met with her... She comes in, with a low enough cut blouse I could see her entire tattoo...It was a snake, wrapped around her neck, the head, hissing with forked tongue ended on her cheek and the tail disappeared into her breasts. For the first time in my life I stared at a woman's breasts because I absolutely hate snakes! Tattooed herself unemployable...and back to the mail room she went. Silly girl. That said, in a discrete place please, what about a snake that has just had it's meal recently? Fat lump in the middle....ie the old you and thin for the top two thirds of his coils???? Please remember your neck is not a "discrete place"
  11. My surgery was repaired by Virginia Mason in Seattle. I've spent several years in and out of hospitals with my son, so I am a total hospital snob! I will never have any work done that isn't done at Virginia Mason. Their bariatric group is in Seattle and they have Satellite offices (I go just outside of Tacoma and am seeing their bariatric head of staff). Love them!! I really can't say anything more than they saved my life using new technology that would have been unavailable elsewhere. The hospital stay was long (22 days) but that was due to complications from the first surgery (they did not do that one). Honestly...I'd not go anywhere else myself!

    When Do People Notice?

We were in a bar last night and I guess the bartender hadn't seen me for a while. He was funny....said, Oh geeze I didn't recognize you...you've done your hair different! Yes, I've framed it with 35 less pounds LOL My weightloss is all over, but my face went first. I'm half way to goal which helps it show more but his reaction cracked me up. I know he wanted to say something else but was worried about offending. I'm in a town where no one here has known me skinny so it's kind of fun to have them discover what I "really" look like.

    Thinking Of Not Doing It,

Just a quick thought....how far out of fertility treatments are you? You can't be doing those (and can't get pregnant) while doing this surgery. I wouldn't even attempt to do this surgery while in treatment for fertility. I KNOW the hell that puts your body through and it would be a real issue while in the early stages of this surgery. Then you can't get pregnant safely for at least a year, so I'd get all of that behind me prior to even considering this surgery dear. And I will tell you, it took my body about a year to level out after three of fertility treatments. I was doing some pretty aggressive treatment and don't know what you are doing or were, but it's worth waiting for your body to refind normal before going into another drastic (and fertility treatments can be drastic) procedure.
