  1. I'm glad you are on the mend! My palate/taste buds took a month to recover and it still isn't what it was for wine.
  2. I've been playing around. All features work just fine even that "send button" thing (where you had to hit enter to get the button to work) seems to be ok. Perhaps there was some interference from previous versions in my cache? (I don't speak computer my dear so that's all I can guess LOL). If nothing else you got me to clean house And I'm happy to report an issue. I love the site so we have to support your efforts!
  3. I'm worried about her If you are only reading Liz (I hope so) please know you are in our hearts and minds! Do what it takes to get better hun! We are here if you need to talk! (Even when high on massive drugs....some of my posts were dang near impossible to figure out without significant amounts of dilauded.....so I've learned to read dopey) Love ya hun!!!!!
  4. It's working now...how odd is that? Honestly I'm not a complete dork LOL I have the latest Ipad (is that a 3?) which I purchased in August. I'm on 6.0.1. I went ahead and removed it again, cleaned out all of my history, rebooted, etc., and reloaded yet again. It appears to be better (I'm in landscape mode and it's allowing me to type). I'll fiddle around a bit and see how it goes. Alex I am sure this must be a major headache for you every time there's a change. That's the worst experience I've had, which isn't terrible Just annoying. But if I was a first time user it would probably have been a bigger deal so I wanted to bring it up.

    Family, Kids, Vsg, And Hospitals

Have your sister come. I was in hospital 22 days and if we didn't have the support of a loving nanny and grandma, it would have been hell (ok it still was but it was not as bad) on my husband. Having them meant he could be with me when they had to make major decisions about my care and he was with me for both surgeries. My first doc was 90 mins away and the second hospital was almost three hours with ferry time. Honestly, the kids don't need to be with you during recovery. You will need the break and the little ones won't understand anyhoo. It's better not to have to put up a good front for them. My son is 7 but was six when I was in hospital. He came a few times with DH to visit...which was hell on me...we've never been apart that long, but when he was there I was really really sick. He is used to hospital (he was in for a couple years himself) so he takes sick well...but most kids would find the fact that daddy has tubes in his nose and arms and where ever kind of hard to see and understand IMO it's better you just have your wife and come home weak and tired, verses seeing all of the hospital stuff on kids not used to seeing that.
  6. It's worse...or more bugs. Now it has to be in a specific portrait mode and it crashes every time I turn the ipad. I think I'm signing off for a while...it's really annoying!!!

    Low Bmi'ers...how Long To Goal?

This thread is nice as it puts my loss into perspective. I keep having rather long stalls, then drop a big amount overnight. The stalls seem to coincide with when I started drinking wine LOL So I was going to do something drastic and quit drinking wine but given that my average loss is about 3lbs a week...maybe I don't need to go on the wagon heh heh
  8. Thanks for the work around! I'll give it a shot. It must be driving you nuts!!! ::now turns ipad to be able to hit send::

    I Wish I'd Known...

I wish I would have known just how common and BAD complications are. Skinny is nice but not in a coffin. All of the stories I read were people with high BMI's and other risk factors....so there I went, expecting my low BMI no risk factor body was going to sail on through....I wish I would have known the trauma it was going to cause my family and those I love even three months out it's still there. And I wish I never knew about the pain and agony and complete debilitation....I wish I would have known it's not worth it for some, including me.
  10. Oh wait, this is even more fun....I can't hit the subscribed or forums buttons without being in landscape.....
  11. Liz, I'm just sending out some love hun. Hope all is well. You're on my mind!

Why Cant We Have Red Gatorade ?

I think I covered the legit reasons I laughed off the silly rule so I'll leave it at that. Do they also avoid orange and green? heh heh it's just silly but I find poop silly sometimes I guess Such is the life of a mom with a sick kiddo. As to V8, it was on my full liquids options so I'm sure it's fine. But it is red so if you spill a drop on your shirt while driving, please keep in mind that you haven't suffered a gunshot wound, an alien invasion (or is that devasion...when they come out of your chest) or internal bleeding heh heh

    Good Morning Please Read

If the pain is centered on the left, call your doctor right now as that is sign of a leak. If it's just general, and not debilitating than it may just be from too much time in bed and use of different muscles due to protecting the surgical wounds. Weakness is also a leak sign but is normal when you've had major surgery. If your heart is racing and you are experiencing the weakness, again, don't wait, call your doctor now.

Why Cant We Have Red Gatorade ?

Darling they were all world class gastro docs at major children's hospitals in the US (our son was FTT with unknown cause for four years...we spent a lot of that time in hospitals all over the country chasing diagnosis). It's not better safe than sorry when it keeps someone from taking in fluids if that's the flavor that might help her handle fluids better. Maybe gastro docs are just a lot poop smarter than regular docs After all, it's their living LOL

Why Cant We Have Red Gatorade ?

Actually I kinda was mocking the rule. If your doctor does not know the difference between red dye and blood you desperately need a new doctor! BTW..I was served red Jello in the hospital. Apparently by smarter doctors To get too in depth on the study of poop....red food, orange food, green food and blue food can tinge the color of a stool somewhat. But because its a digested material, the tinge is an all over/uniform coloration. Blood in stools on the other hand is streaky or spotted/clots or even tarry black dots the size of pin heads. Blue poop, red poop, orange poop....it means nothing I spent four years studying poop with my son who has a blood disorder. Not a lot of fun but I am damn near a leading poop expert world wide now heh heh He's seven now, and still has issues, but not once in seven years, with many surgeries and hospitalizations has any doctor in the United States told us to avoid red. It's beyond stupid. I don't mock many doctor's rules...but that one is beyond the pale!
  19. Oh my god liz! Our whole towns internet was down yesterday so I didn't see this until now. You were not supposed to be joining the Leak Survivors team honey!!!! I had you slated on the Smooth Sailing team instead! Tell us when you are able to how you're feeling. I will say Liz that I was almost immediately "better" once the second surgery was completed. I felt like people are supposed to feel after their first...it was amazing and I'm hoping you'll have the same experience my dear. I know its scary but if well wishes and loving thoughts help, you have lots of them coming your way!!!!! I wish I was there to give you a hug...I feel so badly that you are having this awful experience

    4 Wks Post Op Miserable

Lux I had the tube. It's miserable I'd agree. I actually "rejected it" (vomited bile for 48 hours) and they had to go to IV feeding (TPN) instead. You will stay healthier on the tube than TPN though so try to get used to it! Gad I hate to read every time I see a complication, but I'm glad you have at least somewhat of an idea what is wrong. What are they going to do about it though???

Why Cant We Have Red Gatorade ?

And it would somehow be ok to see Blue LOL Neither of my docs gave me a "no red" rule. I think it would be fine.
