    Running

Thanks for the comments. I am down to 235 lb so it seems like I could run based on your successes. I just gave to do it!
  2. I get cold fingers and toes all the time, for no apparent reason. Not enough to cause my teeth to chatter, but still chilly.
  3. Ok, I need to figure this one out. I switched from Bariatric Advantage Multivitamin to Celebrate multivitamin with Iron. I am still gagging / feeling sickvwhen taking Calcium and multivitamin with iron together. I also take b12, b50, d, c, krill and energy formula( from gnc). Am I taking too much of something at the same time?
  4. Why not take gummies? I have been taking them for a couple months and no issues...
  5. I know calcium citrate absorbs better than calcium carbonate, but is it really a big deal which one you take? I have both, but have been taking calcium carbonate for the last 2 months. I like the taste and consistency of the sugar free ones from costco. They are cheap too. These chews are pretty much where I get my daily calcium from(some from shakes also). I take 6 a day to satisfy NUT requirements.

    Calcium Citrate Versus Carbonate

By the way, I had a bunch of labs done last week by PCP and they all came back with no issues. I suppose you need a special lab for checking calcium levels. I will be having my 3 month checkup with the surgeon next week so they should be checking Vitamin and mineral levels at that time. I also drink the daily espresso or coffee so hope the caffeine is not messing with my bones on top of taking the wrong calcium. Can taking the wrong type of calcium mess with weight loss? The scale has been pretty frozen for a few weeks.

    Calcium Citrate Versus Carbonate

I am taking a daily PPI so I better switch to citrate.

    Viactiv

Costco also carries a good sugar free caramel calcium chew that is cheap and has few calories than the standard chews you are talking about. I really like the taste of them too.

    Are All Proteins Created Equal

I am at 3 months and enjoy 2 protein shakes a day, one when I get up and one when I go to bed. I drink them to ensure that my metabolism keeps grinding away, but they also taste good. If you are looking for a good brand, go with Syntrax. Both their Nectar and matrix product lines are yummy with milk or with water.

    Muscle Milk And Nausea

I had a muscle milk today that was banana cream flavored. It made me very nauseas for at least 30 minutes. This is the second time I had tried one of these, same flavor. First one was about 5 weeks post op and I was fine with it. Now I really didn't like it much at 11 weeks. Has anyone else had this problem? I am a little bummed because banana creme used to be absolute favorite flavor pre-op, especially in yoplait light.

    Cheating Already >:(

Getting in a habit of eating high quality proteins in 2-3 oz servings every 3 hours will help. I pretty much only eat protein and never have the urge to graze. Also drinking often helps.

    Eat To Fast

Yeah, that is my number 1 struggle post-op. I am really bad at eating slow. However, I never overeat for the sleeve because I measure out correct quantities. I do slime often.
  14. Wow, that is awesome progress.

    Severe Constipation

I have been taking miralax daily mixed in with flavored water. Be sure to mix with flavored water because I found it to be pretty nasty with tap water. I also take fiberwell sugarfree gummies. These are made by Vitafusion and are great tasting.

    I'm Wearing My Old Jeans!

    That is a great NSV!
  18. I've noticed times when i get hungry an hour after last protein meal. It is not very strong, but I do have to remind myself to wait. I try and eat eat every 3 hours to keep a normal eating cycle. This started happening at around 9 weeks out. I am now 12 weeks out. Hope that helps. Good luck.

    Normal

I was in the hospital for 5 days and came home with a present of 20 lbs. I knew it was all IV Water, but come on. It took me about 4 to 5 days to lose it all and I actually did not start weighing until end of week 2. On that first weigh, I was pleasantly surprised to see the water weight gone, but also 15 lbs. I was thrilled and did a happy dance right there next to the scale. The loss of lbs was fast and furious for the first 2 months. It has been hard to lose weight in the last month (15 lbs), but I sure have lost the inches. I went from 3x shirt to large and 46 pant to 36 between surgery and today. And I was an XL and size 38 about 1 week ago. Now i really need to stop being lazy and get my exercise program in gear. I have everything I need at home in terms of both cardio, weights and instruction ( books and dvd). We will see how that goes over next 2-3 months.
  20. I had ordered a side of 2 scrambled eggs and a side of ham at Patty's Eggnest this morning. It certainly was not a lean cut of ham and was dripping with fat/oil. I took a bite of egg and also two bites of ham, chewing in between each bite. Immediately after the ham bites, I didn't feel so good. The voices around me started to dim and sounded like far away. I started getting dizzy and got a bad case of needing to throw up both slime and food. I spent most of the remainder of our Breakfast in the restroom wondering what happened. Remember it was only two bites of it. I also got a bad case of diarhea. 3 or 4 hours later now I am finally starting to feel better. Boy, my sleeve was pissed off this morning and took revenge on me this morning for whatever reason. This has not happened before in the last 3 months. The experience disappointed me a little also because I was looking forward to eating there after shovelling 2 tons of manule compost this morning for the garden (zoo-doo as they call it). I worked up an appetite for some yummy eggs and Protein. Needless to say, I am going to think twice before eating ham cooked that way again and probably won't eat at Patty's Eggnest again either. I also noticed that all their food tends to be undercooked a bit and they even use butter for making their eggs. Is this sleeve dumping? Please let me know your thoughts.
  21. You are right absolutely right BTB. There was definitely a lot of grease on the ham probably because they cooked it with other greasy meats or didn't clean the grill first. I thought about it briefly but the right alarms did not go off for me until it was too late. We should be cautious and conscientious of how grease looks in prepared food as to not go through this horrid dumping experience again or ever Fortunately i am normally very careful about keeping my sleeve in a happy state by eating at home where I know exactly what is going into my mouth. A pissed off sleeve is not a fun experience. Imagine the talking orange on youtube with machine guns in a very bad mood...

    Slimies

Eating too much or too fast causes the slimies. Your throat feels like you are going to throw up. However, instead of food coming up extra thick saliva comes up. I used to get is all the time between month 1 and 2, but not so much as i enter month 3.

Will I Ever Be Able To Eat Bread Again?

I think low carb is the way to go. Why fight the weight loss by eating breads? I have lost almost 100 lb in 3 months on a pure low carb diet of most Protein. Inches have also fallen off. My stomach is MIA. This is a bit different from when I did atkins in the past. This time around the weight came of 4x as fast and I don't have any cravings for bread, fruit, whatever. Another difference is that I am truly losing inches everywhere. This did not happen when I did atkins 10 years ago or so. I will add in carbs that are good for you when closer to goal, slowly. Good luck.

    Typical Day

I have not been using MFP, but do journal every day. I write down things like 1, weight 2. energy level 3. pain level 4. Vitamins taken and at what times 5. food eaten including stats about Protein, calories and carb amounts. I also note the time it is eaten. 6. Water consumed including info about ounces and time 7. Activities including info about type, distance and approx calories burned. 8. Prescription meds taken 9. General notes I found that this tracking helped me stay the course and also to get an appreciation of good days, bad days and patterns. It also helped with predicting weight loss based upon the patterns. Good luck.
