Halloween Contest October 31 2012
Fiddleman replied to sexyme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Really great job. I bet you can feel onderland just out of your grasp. Good luck. -
No, I didn't mix anything. I bought a RTD version from a gas station and drank it.

I ate some diced onions with some garbanzo beans, Edime (sp?) and some chives for lunch today. It king of burned a little and gave me dizzy spacey blacking out feeling. Lots of ringing in the ears. It is strange because I am pretty sure I have eaten some onions post op. maybe it was the chives, not sure. The sleeve was iffy about something.

Thanks for the information. I read all about it on Wikipedia and think a few of the trigger points apply to me. It might not have been related to eating too fast or too much, but may have been caused by other reasons like stress, prolonged siting or loss or sleep. All have applied in last week. It appears it is fairly benign unless you pass out and hurt yourself by hitting something on the way down. That being said, I do have a tendency to eat way too fast, working on that.

I tried muscle milk post-sleeve and sleeve got upset at it. Made me "sick" for about an hour. I don't trust it now and will stick with nectar or matrix shakes. I had the no sugar version.

Need Breakfast Ideas...?
Fiddleman replied to Donedeal091212's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly, i like having a protein shake for breakfast because there is no time to make anything more than that. -
Donate Excess Skin

Is this legitimate? That would be great to get the surgery for free when insurance won't cover it due to it being cosmetic. -
Had A Date And My Insurance Wants 6 Documented Diet
Fiddleman replied to steelergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow that sounds fairly draconian on the part of the insurance company. I only had to give a list if all the diets i tried and failed at over the years with starting and ending weights. -
I got a cold about 2 weeks out of surgery and took Nyquil for about 4 days. It had 10% alcohol in it and it was probably not the best choice on my part. No problems taking it, but burned a little.

I have been very much on the cold side in the last couple weeks, much more so the ever before. Sitting inside our thermostat is at 63 ( not that cold). My fingers and toes feel almost frozen, but the rest of my body is very cool also. I am wearing a sweatshirt and wole socks. This is so strange because I used to be the one always roasting ( figuratively speaking). Drinking very hot apple cider helps for the day, but then I am frozen again later on. Does this happen to others and do you have some suggestions?

Does Vsg=Lactose Intolerance?
Fiddleman replied to BigChrisATX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it did for me at the beginning. Everyone is different. I could not tolerate milk for the first 2 months, but now seem ok with it. I have got used to drinking soy milk ( lite - 70 calories), so only drink milk if needing to have a shake for breakfast where soy is not available. Almond milk is good too. They are both sweet tasting, but I guess without the sugars. -
I had my 100 day check-up yesterday and my blood pressure is 121/ 79! I was on blood pressure meds pre op because of hypertension. The reading only 100 days ago was 158/ 92. Also my BMI went from 43 to 27!! I am so psyched about the BMI drop because it on needs to go to 23. I no longer need to use my cpap machine either. Doctor basically said keep doing what you are doing and congratulations. Thank you sleeve!

Glad I am not alone on this issue. I guess paying more for electricity is a cost of this surgery.

100 Day Check-Up Nsv!
Fiddleman replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you! -
I might not be getting enough iron. After fed up with BA multi tabs, I switched to Celebrate capsules. You are supposed to take 3 daily. I have to take these at separate meal times or I dry heave. I am good about taking at breakfast, but usually forget to take at lunch and dinner. Not always, but most of the time. I also have been feeling light headed and almost fainting. I have been eating a ton of protein ( about 125 gram daily) and drinking 100 + oz water a day. My sleep for last couple weeks has been bad because of work deadlines. Usually getting about 3-6 hours a night. Last 2 nights has been 3 hours.

If you want a peanut cup taste, mix the nectar truffle protein shake powder with PB2. It is fantastic and good for you.

I used to like eating the weight watchers Thai Noodle. It is probably too high in salt, carbs and what not post sleeve. Does anyone know?

What Are Sleevers Eating 5-6 Weeks Out
Fiddleman replied to lvnvmom1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 4-5 weeks out I was just transitioning from purée to solids. For me, it was easiest to eat wild salmon and chicken at about 2 oz. I had to be really careful or it would lead to severe uncomfortable feelings ( eg chew and go slow). I did not add beef or pork in until about 6 weeks. If in doubt, eat something easy like scrambled eggs. I also was still drinking shakes for 1 to 2 meals. Today I usually only have a shake for breakfast because there is no time to make anything and one for bedtime to keep my metabolism happy at night. -

I'm Gaining Weight 2 Weeks In?!?!
Fiddleman replied to Kelly123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have the right idea there in your last post. Great! -
I typically mix 1 scoop ( 35 grams) with 6-8 oz of water or milk and shake shake shake. Mini workout right there.
-
I also really like cookies and creme in addition to chocolate truffle. Had the same issue with clumps. I switched to the matrix brand and it mixes oh so well with the blender cup. Matrix tends to be about $ 10 more expensive then Nectar, but worth it. The technology behind Matrix has been perfected so protein does more for your body and also keeps you full longer( extended release). Try it out. You might become a convert like me.

I'm Gaining Weight 2 Weeks In?!?!
Fiddleman replied to Kelly123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find it really helpful to drink a water protein shake at bedtime.
