Sleeved July Second, Still Can't Eat :(
Fiddleman replied to Mike Kristian Marshall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We were sleeved on the same day and have lost about the same amount of weight. I hope that your sleeve experience gets better and that you are free from any complications. My hair started falling out a few weeks ago, it then reversed in last week and is not coming out so much. -
Prilosec has worked great for me post-op, no issues whatsoever.

Vitacraves And Other Gummy Vitamins
Fiddleman replied to aprilcarrie's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Yup, these chewable tablets were tossed the moment I got the Celebrate multivitamin capsules. Gummy multivitamins are probably ok, but I am unable to find a sugar free version. I don't really feel like adding more calories. -

Wow, you are so close. Great job! -
I ran out of both about 5 days ago and am wondering what are the consequences of not taking. Just ordered some from Celebrate off Amazon, but they won't arrive until Tuesday. In general, I am feeling fine. However, my hair has started to feel brittle and am seeing a few hairs here and there. I am 3 months out so am not blaming it on the missing supplements. What are your thoughts?

Whats The Worst Thing You've Eaten Post Op?

I think it was about 5 weeks before it was comfortable to sleep on stomach for me. Generally I don't though. I find sleeping on back or side is much better.

Can leaks occur later than 6 weeks? What would cause a leak, say, 6 months post-op?

Whats Wrong With Me?/
Fiddleman replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Isn't it a good thing that you are not throwing up? I am envious that you skipped this part of post-op as it napped to me almost every day between week 6 and week 9. It had a little to do with eating too fast or eating one bite too many. Sometimes it happened because my sleeve was not ready for certain foods. You might try eating foods that are more dense like chicken or beef. These tend to fill me up quickly and I cannot eat more than 2-3 oz without a visit to the bathroom. I like eating every 3 hours because it keeps my appetite in check and gives me fairly level energy response through the day. Good luck - I hope you are able to figure out some solids that will give you similar benefits. -
3 Months. 60 Lbs ( Pic)
Fiddleman replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's really awesome. I can tell you are on cloud 9! -
I am not so sure weight watcher meals are that for you, ignoring the obviously high sodium values. I lost 50 lbs once eating Thai noodle smart ones every night for a couple months with peas and the yummy brownie sundae ( alo weight watchers). Those sundaes were seriously awesome and only 110 calories.

Started out at the beginning of the week as tenderness on crown of head. Next it was back of the head. After that my right shoulder got tender and very sore. Near the end of the week my right side of neck got sore. Today, my jaw is sore and tender. The tenderness and sore seems to spread every day this week. Should I call the on call doctor this weekend?

Pain On Right Side Only
Fiddleman replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to the clinic today and they said it is swollen lymph nodes and shingles. Now how did I end up with that. Back on the pain meds tonight to cut some of this pain. If you have any advice, do let me know. -
Would crushing them enable an instant response rather than the usual 30 minutes. I have never crushed pain meds before, but the taste has got to be nasty. Ever have a pain pill stuck in your mouth or throat and how bitter it tastes? Drinking crushed pain pills has to be 1000x worse, definitely seems like it would cause a gag reflex response.

Protein Shakes - Are They A Forever Thing?
Fiddleman replied to lucky8mb1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really do like the syntrax shakes, especially the Oreo flavor. My nut said that we did not have to consume them any longer after 3 weeks, but they are so enjoyable as a breakfast when there is no time to make anything. The extended release version is the best because it gives you energy for 3-4 hours instead of the standard 1 hour or less. Unless my nut specifically says something, I am not going to give up my daily habit of 1 protein shake. -
