Tell Me About Your New Clothes
Fiddleman replied to Boofster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought black speedos. And they fit. The tubs of rubber mares stored under my bed came out. These mainly contained clothes from when I was a large shirt size and 36-38 pant size. It happens to be winter so I pulled out the smaller sweaters also. All "big and tall" clothes are going to value village. -
Drinking Water will take your mind off the initial hunger. Hope it helps.

Hair Loss After Surgery
Fiddleman replied to RoseNP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My hair loss started about at month 3 and seems to be over at 3 weeks. Knock on wood. I typically eat 120+ grams protein a day and didn't take any special supplement for hair loss like biotin. I do take quite a mountain of vitamins daily. -
Whats The Worst Thing You've Eaten Post Op?
Fiddleman replied to suzjag's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think there are a couple foods that really pissed my sleeve off. One was a couple bites of real ham ( not the turkey ham). The other was a sausage patty with integrated cheese. I think the fat content in both was a big no no that lead to dumping syndrome and misery for 30 minutes. Luckily i learn fast and have not repeated. -

Major Complications !?!?
Fiddleman replied to imlosingit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Got a good snicker from this.... -
Have you ever considered beer might nowt appeal to you in the same way as pre-sleeve. I'm just saying this because that happened to me. Several things I enjoyed pre sleeve like alcohol, sugar, salty foods, highly processed foods and other foods no longer appeal to me. It is like the surgery flipped a switch inside me and j have no reason to flip it back, especially since a healthy lifestyle has improved my life in so many ways.

Let me check. Nope, no problem with that issue. You should up your calories a little bit with healthy foods until your body weight stabilizes. I have lost 110 lb and have 40 lb to go in order to end up at 180 lb for my 5'11" build. I don't really know, but I think the real body image will catch up with your actual body soon. You could also try positive affirmations or hypnosis if you would like more efficient control over this process of accepting your hot new body. Congratulations!

How To Break A Stall?
Fiddleman replied to krenzema's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Repeat after me: "this stall will pass". Keep repeating it. Seriously, all stalls will break on their own. You will wake up morning and say "holy crap...I lost 3 lbs last night". And then the cycle continues over and over again. Better get used to it. -
Sleeping After Surgery?

Thanks, I will switch to GNC mens formula and see if that helps. I used to take them in my earlier life pre- sleeve. My only concern is that they are not complete enough for sleevers. Do we need to take 2 doses, perhaps 1 in morning and 1 in evening?

Thanks, but I don't need any more reasons to throw up. The multi-vitamin by Celebrate caused me to be sick for 20 minutes this morning, losing all other Vitamins and my Breakfast. I really do need to find a multi that can stay down, even when mixed with other supplements like b50 and b12. I am almost 4 months out.

Kaiser Sleevers, I Need You!

Sounds much like my united health plan. However, the nutritional guidance sounds a bit different. I guess that is to be expected. -

Stop Eating Switch
Fiddleman replied to michelleooo513's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I measure all portions, but recently I have been getting full a lot sooner. It is as if the restriction sometimes is much more intense than other times. For example, I ate 2 bites of a chicken patty with onion and cheese tonight and got uncomfortably full. Two small bites. This is a little unusual as I can usually finish what I measure. I also get the hiccups when it is time for me to stop. -

Sleeping After Surgery?
Fiddleman replied to iggychic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I am about 3.5 months out as well and am tired all the time. Exercise does help get it up so I would encourage some kind of exercise to have more energy. Besides all those endorphins are a natural high! -
Kaiser Sleevers, I Need You!
Fiddleman replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What exactly is the kaiser program the you refer to in this thread if you don't mind me asking. It is a bit different from the plan I am following which does not have a particular name. My plan is basically eat low carb, minimal sugar and low fat 5-6 times a day with getting above and beyond 64 oz water and 80 gram protein. Most of these rules come from my NUT. I have been following it without deviation. I do get hungry more now especially between meal 4 and 5. Other than that, it is not too hard to follow. -
Does increasing the dose of PPI help with hunger for those 3+ months out? I take 1 Prilosec daily and found hunger returning. If it is acid, I can see an increase would help me.

Ingot a staph infection last week and had to amoxicillin starting yesterday. This pills are gigantic. If you thought the omega3 capsules were large these are 2x as large. Are there any alternatives for taking antibiotics in a smaller form? I would not want to get one of these stuck.

Well, I am almost 4 months into the post sleeve experience and the amount of time until I get hungry after eating is shortening. It used to be I would have no trouble going from meal to meal without feeling hungry. Meal to meal is about 3 hours for me. Now I get hungry father about flyer 1.5 hours. I am not totally ravishing, but I get the occasional tugs. I have been eating protein at every meal. In fact, all I eat is protein so no trouble in that department. I drink enough water so no trouble there either. My meal size is typically 3 ounces. Do you have any suggestions to avoid getting hungry 1/2 way between meals. Not that it matters, but I have never cheated or not eaten when I am not supposed to. I intend to keep it that ay in order to be the best success I can be. Thanks for your help. Again, I am at about 4 months.

I don't think so. It is just thrown in with my cocktail of pills and Vitamins that I take every morning. No issues with heart burn or acid, ever.

What Are Best Tasting Rtd Protein?
Fiddleman replied to WLJourneyJ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have not found any good RTD shakes, but have found a number of excellent RTE ( ready to eat) protein bars with a good set of nutritional stats. I tend to enjoy think thin bars because they are filling and sugar free. Cliff bars are also excellent, but too high in sugars.
