    Post Surgical Temp

I didn't have trouble with stomach spasming, but everyone is different. I did have some esophagus spasms later on, after I was on solids for a while. You can always call your support line to ask the MA or MD if the spasms is something that should concern you. They are here to help you as your healing progresses. Asking for advice about a medical issue on this forum might be iffy because most of us are not doctors and like to tell anecdotes. That said, we all like to help each other out if possible.

    What's Your New Addiction?

Mine is walking. I like to walk an hour a day with my dog. He loves it too!

    Organ Shifting?

I've never noticed this and it sounds interesting. Would I still experience it at 4 months out? I'm into weird things...lol

    Post Surgical Temp

I had a 101 for a few days after surgery while in the hospital. It went down by the time I left at 5 days. I was in the hospital an extra 4 days because of trouble swallowing, breathing (o2 levels were at low 80s), eating and keeping my pulse up (consistently at 40 and got to 30-35 at night). Everything was fine after leaving.

    Weekly Miralax Date

I typically take a serving of miralax every day to stay regular. I also take sugar free gummy fibers throughout the day. Just the past week I ordered a large shipment of smooth tea from Amazon because I had success with it in the past for another unrelated surgery where pain meds made regularity an issue. Will see how well this tea works with sleeve eating. Does anyone have experience that they would like to share?

    Queston?

Good point. I also tend to enjoy a Protein shake for breakfast. It is yummy and gives me the right amount of energy until 3 hours later at my 9 am snack time By 9am, I can eat a 3 oz chicken sausage with no problem. I sometimes feel like the same chicken sausage is too heavy if I eat it when waking up. The chicken sausage works really well for any meal and I can buy a 24 pack from costco that does not cost too much. They look like a big, curved hot dog and are 3 oz of good quality protein.

How Many Carbs Are You Eating?

I don't work out yet so could explain how 20 carbs a day works for me. My energy levels are normal, but I am no energizer bunny yet. I have enough energy to feel pretty goof from 5 am to 9 or 10 pm. I do walk a lot. It has been working great so far. I think exercise that some are doing is a little extreme and overrated. 3 hours a day 6-7 days a week. Sorry, I cannot devote that amount of time, only about an hour for hilly and brisk walking. I am sweating at end so feel like I am getting a good hour of exercise and my dog loves it. Down 115 since 7-2 with 40 to go. No lose skin ( 120+ oz of Protein daily might be helping with this). I am getting quite lean and have a good muscle tone everywhere. I used to be an exercise junky when heavier before sleeve, but it didn't really do anything when diet was screwed up with too much food and the wrong type of food. I would exercise for 2-3 hours a day on treadmill and ellyptical. I am glad current plan is working for me. I encourage others to find something that works for them. I am sharing my plan in case it helps someone.
  8. I am about the same. Also never eat carbs and just pure Protein with some veggies. Generally ok with this. Try eating every 3 hours a small amount or if in liquids, a shake ( 2 oz) every hour. This will cut the hunger and really work the sleeve.

    Top 10 Mistakes After Wls

I also remember eating a whole box of donut holes between the store and home on commute home ( about 15 minutes). LI was baaaddd.... Thankfully, I am a new person now that no longer has these food issues.
  10. This may be TMI, but what the heck. Ever since phasing into solids I get this nasty methane-smelling gas that fills a small room. The dog cowers in the corner. The flies drop on the table. The neighbors wonder if there is a gas leak in the neighborhood. Obama calls me to create a new clean energy company. Ok, maybe I am throwing in a little humor and hyperbole, but it is true. Do you think this is because of all the protein I have been eating? I hope it goes away eventually like hair loss because all I can think of is that old garbage pail kid card from the 80s with an atom bomb coming out of his behind. Thoughts.

    Room Filling Gases

Rick, thank you for the useful information. You are correct on both counts. I wat a lot of protein shakes ( 2x daily) and am not taking probiotic supplements any longer( stopped a couple months ago). I will start up on the probiotics again, but will keep blaming the dog because he knows no shame. LOL!

    Fibromyalgia And Knee Joint Pain

Oops, and i thought it was not. I had a few doses of this every day and it did help with the pain, but it was not the usual trip like oxycodone ( even this does not affect me like it used to)

    Spasms

I have also found that taking a serving of veggie and fruit powder helps. I bought a good mix from gnc.

    Fibromyalgia And Knee Joint Pain

My pcp and the clinic doctors always want to prescribe me nsaids and i keep reminding them i cant take it per sleeve surgery. They all work for Everett clinic and all can see the same history so go figure. Recently, I got some kind of staph infection on my head, and again, they want me go take ibuprofen with the antibiotics. They finally gave me tramadol because tylenol was not touching the pain.

    Top 10 Mistakes After Wls

I think it gets better. I felt the same way for 3.5 months after surgery. In last week i have started to drink tap again without flavor. That said, I am still really enjoy flavor in the water. I want to wan off flavor because it is getting expensive to buy mio all the time and want to cut back on the additives found in mio/crystal light/etc.

    5 Confessions (Join In)

I admit my confessions 1-3 overlap with you. 1. I drink coffee every day : expresso, latte or cappuccino. 2. I weigh just about every day. I take the stalls in stride. I take the + 1 or +2 in stride. I love the end of a stall when the scale drops 2-3 lbs, just had that happen 2 day ago after 6 day stall. Since 7-2, my stalls end up averaging about 5 days and occur at least 2 x a month. Again, I take them in stride. 3. I wanted to start a diligent exercise program a month ago with c25k and weight lifting, elliptical. However, I have been taking my dog on brisk hilly 3 mile walks every day (40-45 min). He loves it and I still am doing pretty good at 115 lb down. 4. I think about eating a nice meal from time to time. It passes pretty quickly. 5. I enjoy being thinner than my twin brother ( first time since grade school and he has also lost some weight during my journey so it is a moving target). It feels good to be an identical twin again and confuse people.
  18. I remember when I woke up if I could see my wife in the recovery room. They didn't say anything. Li was not able to see her for 3 whole hours!! She was worried.
