    Vitamin C

I just bought a product from trader joes called "vitamin c crystals." The claim is faster absorption because no fillers in crystal form. The dose is 1/4 teaspoon and can be added to water or a juice. It tastes like lemon honey to me. It is 5 calories a serving and provides 1000 mg. they recommend taking it before and after a meal, but that applis to non sleevers so do abide by the standard 30 minute buffers around eating. You might try it as an alternative to sugar tablets or big horse c pills.
  2. Anyone know where I can get a good chewable vitamin c? I went to look for one today at target and all of them had sugar as first ingredient. I could not find any sugar free brands.

    Sugar Alcohol

Those are pretty good. I have not had any post sleeve, but had them pre sleeve. They are really filling too.
  4. Good thread, but I can't get over the imagery of a 3 lb log. I must be twisted to find the humor in it. To OP, laughing with you, not at you of course.
  5. Thanks for the article. Wow, overdosing on various b50 complex components is bad news. I want to take enough to be healthy as a fellow sleever, but not so much I end up in the ER. I take 2 a day now and will switch back to 1. See above for various DV with regards to my b50 daily intake. Any of advise?

    Coffee

My coffee use history after surgery is the same. I also have expressos and regular coffee ( not as often). That said, It is not advised to drink coffee before 5 or 6 weeks due to healing and dehydration concerns. My NUT actually said the only time we had to abstain from coffee was 24 hours prior to surgery.
  7. I use a 3 oz cup for solids that can be molded and coerced into the cup. Otherwise I have a mechanical scale. Sometimes I put food directly on it and sometimes I put food on a 1 lb small plate and then measure 3 oz. System seems to work pretty well for me. If I am out to dinner or at another house, I do my best to visually measure 3 oz portion. If I am not feeling like I am measuring it right visually my wife jumps in and helps because she is an expert at visually measuring as she spends 1/2 her time cooking and baking.

    I Want Some Candy! Help!

I was just going to respond with same info. The sugar free calcium chews and Fiber gummies are so low in cals, you can have a few extra. And they make them in so many different flavors. My personal favorite is caramel, but chocolate and strawberry are also good. Just don't eat too many a day or you will end up with a different, let us say less desirable, issue. Good luck.

    Fluids

I am only asking the following because I am curious. And no, I am not a cat so cannot be killed! What causes lots of folks to make the decision to go to the ER for dehydration? Is it a deathly feeling? Or a passing out feeling? I have read a number of posts from folks that say they had to go to the ER and it occurred to me that could a person just increase their hydration for the day? Or is it like a point of no return that cannot be fixed at home. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity.
  10. You might keep it around though because you never know when a flare up might start. A daily PPI also helps people with perceived hunger issues. Not sure if it does for me, but I would not know because I have taken it since leaving the hospital.
  11. I have not eaten ay protein bars post sleeve purely because no interest yet. However, I might get interested in the low carb variety post sleeve. I used to like thin bars from trader joes and the ones that Costco sells (quest?). Additionally, I used to be a big fan of cliff bars when I went on hard hikes or scrambles. Now I would not be so sure about Cliff bars because of the high sugar.

    Getting Dressed!

Pass some of that "good weed around." I do not smoke, but would not mind one that drops inches. LOL!
  13. My doctor prescribed a whole year of Prilosec. I intend to stay on it for at least that long. At one a day, I have not had any issue with acid reflux that I know of. Knock on wood. The generic of Prilosec still costs a bundle over the counter, but I have seen the prices somewhat lower if you buy in bulk from Costco. It is a huge supple! Good luck.
