  1. I had the stuck feeling consistently after switching to solids until about the 3rd month. It wasn't too bad and I eventually just got used to it. At 4 months, I do not get the stuck feeling any longer. However, and this is important, I still try an eat the same quantities even though I could eat more. I don't want the portion sizes creeping up on me where it eventually turns into gain.
  2. Syntrax nectar and matrix product lines are the best. I really like the taste 4 months later of their "sweets" flavors and it mixes really well with water and milk derivatives (including soy and almond milk). It is not too thick in my opinion. It is sometimes easier to get through shakes at the beginning by sipping 1-3 ounces every hour all day long. This worked really well for me and I was not hungry once. Good luck.

    In Tears..overly Fearful..

I would do it again if the need came up. Overall a very pleasant experience before and after in the hospital. I had some slight complications, but nothing too bad. The surgeons team went all out to make it a good experience from when I checked in until I checked out 5 days later.

    Bottomless Pit

How do chia foods help. I get hungry at about 3 hours and eat every 3 hours at 4 months out. I would prefer not to get hungry. I eat about 100-125 cals every 3 hours in some Protein end centered small meal.

    Whats Wrong With Me?/

Actually, I think we do dump on certain foods. It happened to me 3 times on higher fat foods, more so between 1-3 months out. Not at all now that I am out 4 months. Do others experience the fainting, the feeling like you are in space, loud ringing in the ears, rapid heart beat, indigestion and more?
  7. Do you think that the WLS experience should be targeted and optimized for the obese in their 20s or 30s? Clinically, this age group may have fewer complications than those in their 50s, 60s and older. If WLS ever became socially acceptable and mainstream like getting glasses, do you think a person's age should have an impact on targeted WLS advocacy? In other words, should the health industry or government advocate addressing the obesity disease with WLS at an earlier age rather than an older age? Secondarily to the well being of an individual, it would save trillions in healthcare costs over time. In the future, I can see that either the obesity gene will be eliminated or government will mandate WLS to get healthcare costs under control.
  8. 3 weeks is probably he average amount of time to get better after surgery enough to make it through the day. I took 2 weeks off, but it took until about 4 weeks when my energy really returned. Incision pain took 3 weeks to mostly go away.
  9. Yup, that was me. Never found out what caused it. That was more pain then having the sleeve. It was the first time I have ever gotten a staph infection and I don't want another. Good part is my hair stop falling out after only 3 weeks.
  10. I am wondering if 2 PPI is better than 1 to help with hunger. I get somewhat hungry after 2.5 hours from last eating and would like to eliminate that. I eat every 3 hours a small amount of protein (3-4 oz).
  11. I took tramadol when n so much pain from a head staph infection. Tylenol wasn't touching the pain at all. I also used up the rest of my oxycodone on it.
  12. I don't get ravishingly hungry, but notice I need to eat some protein every 3 hours. If I don't, sometimes I will start to get a little weak and feel empty.i started to notice this change at around 3 months out. I typically eat a small protein based meal of about 125 calories every 3 hours to keep my mood and energy stabile and my metabolism firing on all cylinders.
  13. Let me clarify, I took the liquid form not the pills.
  14. I took NyQuil and DayQuil when I had a nasty cold during week 3.

    Chewy Vitamin Question

Stay away from the Bariatric Advantage chews. Nothing to se here. Move along. Seriously, the BA tablets gave me the heaves every single time. Then I switched to Celebrate Multivitamin because I heard some good things about the capsules. Gave me the heaves also. Now I am taking a trader joe high potency multivitamin tablet. Two actually to meet the WLS requirements. They taste good, are 5 calories and I no longer heave. Works or me!

What Did You Pick The Sleeve?

I picked the sleeve over the bypass because statistically it had fewer complications for about the same amount of weight loss. The sleeve also allows a person more freedom in food choices and does not have the malnutrition artifacts like the bypass. I have been super happy with the sleeve so far.
  19. I think more wrinkles and lines are to be expected because your face is getting thinner. You might try antioxidants, time in the sauna, mud baths or even Botox. There are lots of different strategies depending on what you are willing to do. Of course, I am generally ok with any wrinkles because I am a guy. Some others might have some more practical solutions.

It is good that people can find the humor in these situations. I say make lemonade out of lemons.
