    Protein

What? It is listed on the Internet so by golly, it must be true.

    Protein Bars?

What do you think about the Think thin bars that claim zero sugars and high protein. I think trader joes sell these and I have seen them on Amazon.

    Nsaids

My sleeve doctor and his team said no NSAIDs ever. I would like to take some anti-inflammatory I have from pre sleeve for a previous surgery on my foot. It is achy all the time from walking long distances post sleeve(love walking with my dog), but I have been a good trooper and have abstained from it. It was a reconstructive surgery from a bad car accident in 2010 and I think I will be with the aches for a long time. Any advice on NSAID alternatives because I want to go hiking again and definitely want to keep walking long distances. I used to be an avid hiker on the PCT(pacific crest trail) and other long hikes. Tylenol does not help, but stronger pain meds that require a prescription do.

    Sliming..or Throwing Up..?!?

You will get used to it after about the 3rd time. Lol. Best to roll with it as part of the process of learning your limits as they change on a daily and weekly basis. Different foods will cause different responses from sleeve. As I said in some other posts, scrambled eggs go down really well, but chicken and raw vegetables almost lays lead to stuck in throat feeling and then slimes. The good part is that as sleeve heals more, the pain from taking that extra bite or two goes down significantly.
  6. I have had surgery twice where the surgeon put me under. Both times it went fine and the doctor's support team did everything to make sure I was as comfortable as possible. It is a very relaxing experience, but over in an instant. Coming out is a little like waking up slow ( which never happens to me). Before your eyes are open, the sounds of the recovery room start to become more and more audible, until yours eyes open slowly. You usually are not able to feel much because of the IV pain meds. I personally like the experience and must be the odd person out in that opinion. I put complete faith in the doctor and the team of medical professionals. Please be comfortable that the doctors are very good at what they do and will do everything to ensure your comfort.

    Protein Bars?

Yes, cooked is fine. I just struggle on the raw ones.

    Protein Bars?

Even at 4.5 months raw veggies are hard to at. I have tried broccoli / Brussels sprouts (diced) and both did not digest so well.

    So Flipping Miserable

If you are looking for just tastes, I am sure there is nothing wrong with licking or chewing something. Sometimes even smelling something you miss will satisfy you. Then again, maybe it will trigger even more old habits. These suggestions are only given if they are used in moderation and if you feel like it is making the problem worse then stop. I didn't really have any addictions to food that followed me into post sleeve, so I consider myself fortunate.
  10. Ditto, that is exactly what it feels like. Sometimes the saliva is accompanied by food, but most of the time it is not.

I also like 1-2 eggs scrambled with feta cheese and dill herbs. On the side I like to have 2 chicken maple sausage. They are very tasty, but also healthy.

    How Much Weight Loss?

15 a month is more than great. I am 5 months out and lose about 10-15 a month. For month 1 and 2 I lost about 45 a month. It definitely is slowing down and getting much harder to lose as I get closer to goal. I am extrapolating that goal is going to be in about 4 months if I can continue at the 10 a month. I do definitely exercise much more now than I did even a month ago.

    Chia Seeds!

I tried the chia seeds with both a Water shake last night and a light soy shake this morning. Both were much thicker which made me happy. The only problem is that I woke up this morning with some mild dehydration as I didn't want to drink a lot before going to bed. I think the solution may be to keep some water by the bed at night. Overall, I am pleased with the grounded chia seeds as they will take the bite off of an empty stomach at 2.5 hours (eat every 3 hours).
  18. ....tonight. my mother in law wanted to have thanksgiving again so we ended up having left overs tonight. A couple ounces of turkey and some brocolli side dish of 1 oz. Just letting you know that it is possible to get thanksgiving seconds as a sleever.

    Sliming..or Throwing Up..?!?

You definitely ate too much or ate too fast. It will get better as your sleeve heals more. For me, that took about 3 months, but I still slime all...the...time from eating too fast. I need to play chariots of fire in the background. LOL!
