Sudden stop in weight loss with low calorie intake.
Fiddleman replied to Ms skinniness's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Great read! Thanks for posting. I am always thrilled to read about the "why" behind certain physical processes such as weight loss. It is like we all bought in to the same Rules of weight loss before, but then never asked why certain rules should exist. What if the rules are wrong or they do not equally apply to everyone? It was like a dumbing down of information for the masses. I suppose there is a place for that to help the gaussian averages succeed, but it lets the minority hang out to dry when something deviates from the Rules. The more you know, as they say... once we know the why behind the rules, then we can form our own customized set of rules that help us succeed at an individual level. It is kind of like knowing that 2+2=4 and then finding out the proof behind that is 4 pages long of abstract mathematics and number theory. -

My Suggestion-Stop The Obsessing. Rules Are Meant To Be Broken

Ha, that is kind of funny. -
Oh and I started to wear medium spandex last week. That might be helping my run times.

Cool, thanks for sharing!

Going through a sensory memory lane

New PR today for 5 k of 22:30. Sweet spot was 6.5 mph adjusting up to 7.0 every few minutes. I could have gone longer, but I was having trouble with balance after a while. I try and keep my center of gravity right in front of my core while running chi style. Any thoughts about how to work on balance and form at faster speeds? I was not tired, but just a tad unsure of my footing at times which caused me to move out of my running "zone" just enough to be distracting. Losing the weight has allowed me to take running to another level. Love it!

Definitely go. It will be worth it!

Going through a sensory memory lane
Fiddleman replied to Susie1226's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is an interesting aspect of having the sleeve surgery. Some people refer to this as head hunger because if you are not careful your head will tell you to eat when you are not supposed to. I didn't really have this experience in the same way you did, but I have read a lot of posts from others that have. Instead, I had a few "food dreams" following the surgery where I would dream about eating certain foods and then realize that I just had surgery and how could I eat that? The first few of those dreams were interesting, but a little confusing as well. The memories of food will begin to fade a little bit over time as you progress through the various stages of post op. at least that has been my experience. Now when I think back about eating certain foods it is not really me any longer. Think of it like breaking up with a SO, putting your dog to sleep or similar experiences. It is painful at first. However, with the passage of time, the memories will fade and not define you any longer. They will still be there, but are really going to seem removed from who you are going to become. Hope this helps. -
Is it time to try Milk of Magnesia? (Time for some more TMI!)

A combination of miralax and chia seeds works really well for me. -
When did u eat solid food again?
Fiddleman replied to Tyson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tyson-begun eating solids on week 5. No bad food cravings for me, but others have had it ( use the search function to find their past posts). -
Would you say webMD is a good site for information?

Probably, if you just drink the liquid at first. Be careful though as it is going to be high calorie if you drink a lot of it. I think we should wait several months before eating the fruit because it is so stringy. Same thing with oranges. I do not eat grapefruit, but wanted to make a suggestion.

Might I add fiber one as a good choice for cold cereal. My favorite cereal and low in calories, but oh so high in fiber goodness.

Belated sympathies to you! Hope you get to see them again when they are in the states.

Running is probably the best thing after losing the weight!

Muse puts on an awesome concert. Saw them 2 x in Seattle, once in 2011 and recently in 2013.

iPod with mp3. I got jawbone bluetooth ear buds with transmitter. Just need to plug the transmitter into my oldish iPod (2nd generation) and it just works. I have so many good things to saw about the earbuds in terms of sound quality and noise canceling ability. The only negative is they need to be charged after each run, but that is a small price to pay. They add so much to my quality of running.

That's really great! Keep up the good work.

I like Muse Resistance CD when I run. I also put together a list of running songs from men's fitness. It was supposed to be top picks for 2012. However, I still like running to muse better.
