    Cherry tomatoes

Rediscovered these a few days ago and they are yummy. They are like a little treat almost. We usually buy them from Costco, but I found some exotic Mexican variety at TJ yesterday. If you are far enough post op, these little guys are a really good snack.

That is great. I would not encourage others to drink during the losing phase for the reason you mention, even if the doctor clears it. I think drinking in moderation is OK once you are 6 months out. It really depends on your personal goals and expectations in terms of weight loss rate and/or desires.

    new friends as a vet

Prior to WLS, I did not have friends outside of family and work. Honestly, I think it was because I was such an introvert before with antisocial tendencies. My self esteem was in the dumps after years of being rejected as an obese person. Now that I have gotten to goal weight and have made many lifestyle changes for the better I am finding myself to be a much more social individual. I am seeking friendships. The question is how do you guys go about making new friends now that you are at or near goal weight? I know it is about finding like minded people in shared activities, but it seems a bit foreign to me. I joined cross fit partly last week in an attempt to meet new folks and widen my social circle, not just for the physical training. Is getting involved in shared group events the only way or should I swing into bars? Any advice?

This Amazing grass is really good stuff. I am impressed. Also found that mixing it with pineapple/ coconut dasani flavor is a really good combination.

Yes. You are correct. We all have different levels of tolerance.
  7. Hi there. I have been seriously sleepy today, took two naps and still feel like I should just go to bed. My diet and drinking is not any different. Taking the same vitamins. I am 7.5 months out so this is kind of unusual. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I have observed also that urine has been foamy on multiple occasions ( unusual), feces is a lighter color and stomach area has been aching a lot over last few days. At least two nights this week had some night sweats. Also had some minor aches in one location on lower right back. A sort of deep ache. Not sure what to think about these symptoms or if they have anything at all to do with terrible case of just wanting to sleep today. Let me know what you think. I normally have tons of energy from 5am when I rise to 9:30 pm when I turn in for sleep.

    Protein Bars

I think that should be fine as long as you meet protein goals for the day.

    Protein Bars

I have not heard any limitations around eating Protein Bars, but it would be good to wait until you ate cleared for solids. Also, protein bars tend to be pretty dense so it may take a little longer until your stomach can handle it properly. Most folks here eat pure protein bars and others eat atkins or nugo. What kind ate you going to eat? Try and stick to high protein and low carb.

Yes, love that flavor. It got me hooked on Dasani drops; we spent all our time together she and I. Then I had an affair with Pink Lemonade and there was no going back. Try that one out also!

Has anyone tried a long island? Another prior favorite. I bet those take your sleeve for a ride.

I used to enjoy apple martinis on business trips. Those were really good. I am not much of a drinker since being sleeved, but it is nice to only need one.

What about a pint of Guinness? Or two? Anyone know impact? Have not tried any beer post sleeve yet and maybe Guinness is too bubbly.

Is that all at once? With the sleeve, 3 will probably cause pretty severe intoxication. Heck, one glass of wine makes us drunk.

    It works body wraps.

Good analogy! I've been thinking about the whole permanent versus temporary view points and think it does not really matter anyways. If a person likes the results of these wraps, they will go through the process of repeating the wrap every 2-4 months. Not a big deal. After all, losing weight is a " temporary" thing also despite us telling ourselves it is permanent. If we do not reevaluate our status on a daily, weekly or monthly interval, we will gain weight and our " permanent" solution to weight loss quickly becomes " temporary." I think there are very few permanent things in our world, but can be certain of two: death and taxes!

Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?

You are awesome! Thanks for sharing your experiences in order to motivate others.
  19. I am always sliming or getting the uncomfortable feeling after eating 3-4 ounces of dense Protein (a little dry) at lunch and dinner meals. I am eating seaweed salad at lunch. It feels like the Vargus nerve feeling because I get numb/cold hands, dizzy, light headed and ringing in the ears, even 10 min later. I am trying to eat slow, but that is my biggest weakness. Takes me about 5 minutes to chew the protein. Any suggestions so I can eat my veggies to get the nutrients? I like the taste of seaweed salad!! As you know, I am 7 months post op. Edit: move this post to POST OP forum.
