for the older age sleeve gents

I got the lab results back today and they said not UTI, but some prostate issue. Have to take cipro for 6 weeks. Oy! This medication is such a pain to take because it conflicts with minerals 6 hours before and 2 hours after. Said if symptoms worsen then it is more then prostatitis. I wish they would just tell me. Hope it clears up.
  2. You are talking about the Voltaren Gel? I just got some for when I get bad inflammation in my foot ( previous car accident, long story). I can tell when the weather is changing because my foot lights up! Does that make me a super hero with a special power? Lol! Seriously, how well does the gel work? I have not used it yet.

    March 20th!?

Yay! No issues.... 12 lb in 12 days? This is great progress. What do you mean slow?? Basically you wake up and you drop a lb every day. That is cause for excitement and happy dances. Repeat after me: I am doing just fine...
  4. I do not think you need to worry too much about the sugar content in the liquid Tylenol as it is pretty low compared to relief you are going to get from the pain. Let's see, pain versus tbsp sugar? I go for no pain because your pain will eventually go away and you can go back to pills later. Maybe you could order the SF liquid Tylenol off of Amazon? Amazon is my virtual store for any and every thing!! Also, talk to your doctor about prescription strength liquid hydro codeine (basically liquid Vicodin I think). I just have been researching some information about Flector Patches (Diclofenac sticky patches). these are NSAIDs, but are applied externally so might also be something to talk to your doctor about. I want to use them to help with chronic back inflammation unrelated or not directly related to VSG ( back inflammation may have been enhanced by weight loss and the body not adjusting fast enough). I know pain is no fun. The doctor should be able to help you out in this area so you do not have to gag down nasty bitter crushed up pain pills. :shudder:

Well, RNYers are not in the VSG clique. We are special and spiffier. You would have to pay someone off to get back in.

Has anyone taken "HYDROXYCUT" after VSG surgery?

I think everyone should be free to use whatever aids they feel will help them in achieving their goals. No need to condone anyone if they decide to use hydroxycut or some other diet pill. A warning might be OK if you feel such a diet pill is dangerous or detrimental, but no parenting please. We are all adults and live in a free society ( for now). This means we can do what we please if it is not illegal, dangerous or harming someone else.

    constipation?

I am glad those fiber gummies work for you. Everyone is different. For example, they did not work for me very well pre and post op.

    constipation?

Ducolax is good for unblocking, but not so good for long term use because your GI could come to depend on them. If you stop taking them after long term use, you may find regularity even harder. It could also be addictive in that more and more is required over time for same results. However, this is my speculation. I do not have any evidence to back this. It is better to take something gentler and non chemical reaction based for daily use. Osmosis based regulation products such as miralax and chia seeds work great because they draw Water into the GI tract for a more natural elimination process. coffee also works great for some people. I have read also others eat fiber Cereal such as Fiber One. Natural fiber is probably the best choice, but you do have to watch out for carbs and bloating that may come from eating fiber cereal. If you can manage the original Fiber One cereal and you are far enough out, it is a superb day to day regulator. It is one of my mini goals to start eating Fiber One original cereal again. Lol. Good luck!

    on top enjoying the view

We had 6 inches of snow yesterday in Everett area and it was a blizzard out. I had to do my training inside. Not today though. Sun is out, blue skies, and a beautiful day for a hike. Here is a picture from atop mount si. Mount Si is a hike for every one. 4000 feet of climb over 4 miles. Not terribly difficult, but you will get winded if not ready for it. There are runners, families, old people, young people, etc. Usually 100-200 people on the trail at a time so it gets a little crowded. I have not been up here in 20 years ( high school). Up in 45 min, a new personal record. The birds are hovering in front of me as I munch my Protein bar. The little beggars... First major hike since VSG. By the way, if you are interested in hikes this summer, I am looking for a local hiking buddy to do PCT, wonderland and enchantments. 18. See post @ 6:41pm yesterday. At 2 weeks, most will be eating between 100-300 calories and it will be liquids. You would be still very swollen at this point, so impossible to even drink much.
