How is everyone doing with that first fill? I started out doing well but am back to being hungry again.

I had to fill out a quiz of about 500 questions on a computer(at least it felt like that many!) and thats what took me so long.

Lisa, sorry I missed you. I thought you were ahead of me, but I eavesdropped and found out that her name was not Lisa. I agree, it was kind of freaky feeling, but aside from the little bit of burning when she did the first shot, there was no pain. I'm sure it's different for every one, she took me up to 5cc's and I was completely restricted so she backed it off to 4. Greg, I hope it works that well for me. Sounds like you're doing ok. When I went up to get weighed today, I was telling my daughter...that was my room...SpecialK was there.. Greg was there.... I felt much better walking that hall this time! SpecialK, I got hungry just reading your post. Sounds like you had a lot of willpower. Good for you! TM, you still hanging in there? How's it going?:thumbup:

Grammy in Columbus, my daughter went with me and watched the procedure on a monitor just out side of the room. I like having someone along for moral support....and of course we went shopping afterwards, so that made it fun. You don't need anyone with you though, I just don't like doing things alone.

OK, had my first fill...it wasn't bad. She put in 4ccs so I hope it works.

Congrats on your first fill everyone! I'll be getting mine on May 6th. I sure hope it works because I gotta tell you.....my appetite has returned full force!

Finally, it's done! The correct form was faxed to my job and I can go back to work tomorrow. About an hour after I left the message for Melisa she returned my call. I told her that I thought the problem was taken care of but that I was very frustrated at not being able to speak to a live person when I had a problem. She was very sweet and said that if I had any more problems to ask them to page her and she would get right back to me.

Another rant...I am soooo aggravated! :thumbup: Heres an update on my fun and games with the bariatic program at Mt. Carmel. Called Melissa Webb,got her voice mail, said she would return my call within 72 hours. Called Dianna, got Charlenes voice mail, said she was not in the office today but would return my call when she was. Called main reception,told them my problem, was transfered to Dianna,and guess what...according to her ,this is all my fault!!!! She said she called me Friday(my second missed day of work) to ask me what I wanted on my release form ,(I left specific instructions on her voice mail both on Monday and again on Thursday)and that I never returned her call! I have caller ID and an answering machine...She did not call me. Anyway, she said she will fax it to my job today...We shall see.:Dancing_wub:

Can someone please give me a phone number for Melissa Webb? Dianna has not yet faxed an corrected restriction list to my job so I was not allowed to work again today.

I don't see this as post surgery let down...it's not about my health, I'm feeling fine. It's about people having the common courtesy to follow through with simple paper work requests so that we can get back to work, get paid and pay our bills.

Well I sure feel stuck! I can't go to another surgeon and I can't talk to the one I have. I used up all of my vacation time for the surgery so this is time off without pay.

Hi TM, I agree..just keep bugging them. I am so mad at them right now I could just spit, I called this morning to get a list of my restrictions faxed to my job and of course got the dreaded voice mail. I left a specific list...3 things involving heavy lifting that I did not feel comfortable doing yet. When I got to work today at 3pm my boss told me that she had just got a fax from my Doctor stating that I could return to work but....... COULD NOT do any of my normal duties! :eek: I tried to call Dianna to get it corrected but just got her voice mail again. I left a message. So I was sent home, losing another days pay plus the gas driving an hour round trip. I came home and cried. There has got to be a better way. At this point I would not recommend this outfit to anyone!:bolt:

Lisa, glad you're doing so well...it just keeps getting better. I have never had a problem with drinking. Except for trying to remember to take small sips, I can drink the way I always have. I'm sure that will change after I get some restriction.

I have a bit of a rant..I have some redness and some white, yellow, clear looking discharge on one edge of my port site. Probably not a big thing ...maybe. It worried me so I called Dianna at noon today and got her voice mail...of course.... I explained my concerns and told her that I would be home until 2:30 and after that at work...gave both numbers. She had not called me back by 4pm so I called her back from work ...voice mail again and told her that I was worried about infection and would appreciate a call back. She called me back a short while later and has decided that it is a reaction to the steri strips since they have only been off of that spot for a couple of days. I told her that I had absolutely no reaction any where else from the tape. She said to watch it and if it got bigger or I ran a temp to let her know. I guess she means for me to leave her another voice mail. Well I think it is just wrong that I have to go through voice mail and calling back and waiting hours to talk to someone when I think I might have a problem. I am not at all impressed with the after care that we receive from these people. There ....I feel better now! :huh2:
