  1. hey Deb, we should be hearing from Lady Q soon!
  2. :whoo::clap2: Wow that is so great!!! I'm so excited for you! That was fast!! Hope mine goes that fast! I too, will be waiting with baited breath to hear all about it! :clap2:
  3. Congratulations Lady Q!! Debbie, it sounds like you are doing great!! I hope to be joining the fun soon! Your both right ...I'm sure there are enough things wrong with me to get me approved.. but I have been thinking about just gaining 12lbs so I can be sure they will approve me, then I can lose 100lbs!
  4. Hi Lady QT, I'm still working on it. The nutrition class is the only thing I have left to do from the list and I have an appointment with Dr. Choben Aug. 7th. I am afraid the insurance might turn me down because my BMI is only 37 and they require 40 or co-morbids. I think I would have to gain about 12 lbs to get to a BMI of 40 and I really don't know what to do! If anyone has any suggestions or thoughts on this Please let me know! I am sure at the rate I am going that I will gain that much in a year but then I will have to start this thing all over again..money and all... plus I will be a year older and I'm 62 now!
  5. Talked to my insurance co. today...BC/BS Mass. The lady I talked to was shocked that they charge such a large administrative fee....it of course is not covered. She also said that since I have to pay the nutritional fee upfront it must be out of network and therefore not covered either. She suggested that I ask if I can take a nutrition class with someone in network so it would only be a $20. co-pay. I'm pretty sure there would be a reason why I can't do that so I don't think I will even ask. Maybe someone on here knows the answer. Oh well! I have an appointment next week for my cardiac evaluation....the wheels are starting to turn. :clap2:
  6. Hi ladies, I hope to be banded at Mt. Carmel also. I just got my packet today and am very excited! I think those fees are standard....$300 for paper work then another $200 for nutrition classes. Has anyone checked with Insurance to see if they will cover any of that? Seems that we have to do a lot of the paper work....should get a discount!!:nervous I have to have a Phych. eval ( could be in trouble there!!) and an EKG they also want a diet history but said nothing about a 6 mo. diet.
  7. Thank you, I will try to keep you updated my journey.... I hope it's a short one! LOL
  8. Hi, I'm Sue, I'm 61 and have been dieting for about 30 years and getting bigger every year. I live in Perry County, OH and I was glad to find this Ohio forum. I have been reading these boards for a while now while trying to decide about lapband. I am attending one of the classes at Mount Carmel next month. I have had a lot of my questions answered here and and have decided that lapband is for me. Now I will start jumping through hoops for BC/BS and hope they will pay for most of it! It's nice to know that I have someplace to come for support. Thanks to all of you!!
  9. I am looking for a good LapBand Doctor in either Columbus Ohio or Zanesville Ohio? Any recommendations?
