    Making My Deposit Today...

You will love dr Lopez. He and his nurses are so cool.. Loved them. Tell Karen and Elizabeth hi for me. Don't forget the card that tells you have had the surgery so you can get discount or order off children's menu. And the girls will want a picture of you before you leave. The driver from airport to hotel is so funny. Ask him to take you shopping. And make sure you get some mexician vanilla. Sent from my iPad using VST
  4. Look for me on face book. Carolyn sue ellis. Same picture. It is an older surgery group, most had procedure done last summer. Lots of good info as we have all gone through it and are on other side. I will be glad to invite you to our secret page. Please remember it is an open talk group. Nothing is not asked or answered. Maybe sometime too much info is shared but you don't have to read or comment. Sent from my iPad using VST
  5. There is no regrets... Your Food life will change but how bad is that. Your focus will not be eating and what to eat or what you can't eat. Our doctor told us we would have to find another doctor, no help from him. I have not needed him either. From the the minute I woke up from surgery I had no pain and have truly enjoy this new adventure. Surgery was last of July and as of today I have lost 70 pounds not much effort on my part. I had a sleeve in Mexico with dr Lopez. I have gone from 18-20 pants and jeans to large tops and 10-12 in jeans. I can cross my legs sit in any chair fit in a booth at a restaurant. My husband is going for the surgery in the summer. We share our food at restaurants or I order off the child's menu. Most places are good about that and you can always get a to go bag and have lunch next day. Follow the directions about the slow addition of food back into your life. You will get tired of Protein drinks and soft foods but it isn't for ever. I use sugar free cool aide sticks added to bottled Water to get liquid in for a different taste. Make sure you eat your protein first. You can not eat fast and yes chew your food well. All things you should do anyway. Your new stomach, we all name them by the way, mine is Iron madam, will teach you what she likes and doesn't like. She will let you know fast when your full and the next bit will be a mistake. Learn to pay attention. You will like and dislike different things. I know weirded. There will be moments of passing wants but it your head not your stomach saying want. Avoid breads, no soda both these make your stomach swell. At some point you can add these but only small amounts. I didn't care for pop much anyway but with pizza enjoy a sip. Love pastry and yes now I eat or rather take bits. Just share. Join the Facebook secret page for sleeve. Ours is summer sleevers but we are open to all. Look for me on fb and I will add you. Carolyn sue ellis. I get such support and great info from them. We are family. Good luck. You will not regret it. I promise. Your health will thank you. So will your husband when it is over. 6. It is not a big deal. Had my sleeve done in July. Have lost 63 pounds. It is wonderful.. Started at 230 and am down to 167. Gone from 3x shirts to Xl and large. Am in size 12 jeans. Lost a shoe size too. I have collar bones cross my legs and can paint my own toes. Life is good. If you did a by pass the stomach is totally avoided. Much prefer the idea of having not to deal with the malisorbation issue. Make sure after surgery you walk to avoid any gas pains after surgery. Walk as soon as possible... Good luck. You will so wish you had done the surgery sooner!

    Tijuana Mexico In August!

I took heating pad. Did not use. I used fluffy socks I used bath robe I took a full suitcase and am not going to use hardy any of it. I did use my long sleeve t shirt and elastic waisted sport shorts. With pockets to but drain bag in. Wore flip flops. Hospital provided personal care items, toothbrush toothpaste shampoo. No hair dryer. Hotel has good one. I took iPad and books. For flight I took the broth packets out of the Raman noodles. You can find hot Water but no broth and I need the warmth to soothe me on the last leg of the plane ride. I also brought with me coolaide straws for my water bottles. I had a small travel pillow that I have not used but may come in handy on the flights home. If you have smart phone maybe a English to Spanish app. Hospital and hotel have free wifi. Did not use the gas x. Did not have any problem with it. I did follow the diet pretty close, maybe that is why no gas. Can't think of any thing else. If you have any other question please ask. Good luck! Sent from my iPad using VST

    Summer Surgery Cheaper?

I used Dr Lopez. He and his wife work as a team. All of the people on his team are great. There is not much out about him but that is because he is fairly new I think. My husband was very impressed by them and Mi hospital. My cost was 4700.00. The hotel is very nice very comparable to any nice room in the states. The price included food for me. Ron as to buy his own. Doesn't cost much. Room in hospital was for both same in hotel. Airfare was 350. I booked about a month ahead. Let me know if I can help. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Tijuana Mexico In August!

Just had my surgery on Tuesday. Dr Lopez at the Mi hospital. Am not resting at the Marriott. I can not say enough good things about the whole experience. From the driver, Roberto, who is a hoot, to the very nice accommodations in the hotel and the wonderful care I received in the hospital from the nurses and Doctor Lopez. Everything is exceptionally clean. TJ is not a scary place. We enjoyed a evening of shopping before going to the hospital and my husband had a fantastic seafood dinner. Ice tea for me dang. I remember them coming to get me in the room and then I remember being back and thinking did it happen? I was up walking within an hour and have not had any problems with gas. I feel no pain which I consider a blessing know that others have. My husband is with me and as gone exploring everyday while I rested in the hospital. I do believe he has been enjoying the trip!
