Is there anyone who has had to have a revision to an arm lift. I had one last year and while it is significantly better, it's still bad. The dr. said he can do it again but that the skin is so stretched that while it will be better it won't be perfect. He said the scar tissue shouldn't be an issue. I always heard working around scar tissue is difficult. Before and After pictures - thoughts? Would you do it again? (he said he would do it for free if I had lipo on the thighs which I had been thinking about) (see other post on flabby thighs)

Arm Lift Revision
shellbell125 replied to shellbell125's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
HAve any of you ever been on the site realself? I typed in the arm revision in search bar and got lots of good feedback that comes from doctors (at least let's hope) =Having a secondary arm lift, or brachioplasty, is not as uncommon as you would think. Further weight loss, under-correction are common factors that lead us to consider secondary brachioplasty. The "flaps" are actually more hearty after the primary procedure and there is usually less to do, resulting in a more spot-on post-op result that my patients love. =Yes, it is possible to have a second arm lift performed. It's not uncommon in our weight loss patients that they have skin that is poorly elasticized - that it tends to stretch out easily, despite a properly performed initial surgery. And if you have lost more weight, this may also be contributing to the looseness that you see. More skin excision might help the situation. Speak to your local surgeon about this idea. =You can have a second arm lift or brachioplasty. After massive weight loss, the skin looses its elasticity. After body contouring procedures, sometimes it is necessary to revise the procedures or re-excise the excess skin which develops over time. From El Paso, Las Cruces, Mexico. -
Arm Lift Revision

@@Djmohr Jess9395 said it best. He said the skin is already pulled, you can see the stretch marks. He said that sometimes things may have to be done in steps and I would get another opinion, but he's redoing it for free (since I'm getting liposuction in thighs). He's an extremely well known surgeon in bariatric patients in our area, so I don't feel like he's a bad surgeon or anything. I would love to see your pictures. -
I carried all my weight in my butt an thighs. Even after 145 pound weight loss my thighs still have to much fat for thigh lift. The Dr. said he would do lipo and that would take away some of the "bulk". Thigh still look big in pants and when I sit they spread over two states. The problem is that they are already lumpy and he said it could make it worse. I've talked to one person already who said they were so lumpy she had to wear spanx under her yoga pants. Are there any other experiences out there? Would you do just the lipo, or leave the bulk? Lumpy but able to in to pants, or bulk that still makes my thighs look big with my smaller waist. I'm so conflicted. Thanks

Arm lift / brachioplasty
shellbell125 replied to therealme89's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Hi, can you give me an update. how are you feeling? I'm scheduled for arm lift next Wednesday and suddenly scared out of my mind. I'm staying with my dad. Couple of questions. 1. Did you have drains? Were you able to care for them yourself? 2. Were you able to go to the bathroom by yourself? My dad said he can have a CNA he knows come in and help me get dressed and cleaned up in the mornings but I'm worried about going to the bathroom that first day or so. Should I have one of my friends stay with me instead? Any advice you can give me would be great. thanks -
So, I've been reading about everyone and wanting to lose weight and be there for their spouses/kids/grandkids. Now I want to hear from the single ladies (men). How have you been now that you've lost (losing) weight? Do you have dating worthy confidence now? Have you been on dates? Have you discussed the surgery? How have you handled going out to dinner? I want all the juicy details. Personally, the depression looms as I turn 35 in a couple days and I'm alone (no kids). I haven't been on a date in maybe 5 years. This is so embarrasing. I look forward to having the confidence to go back online.

Is anyone else on Facebook?

Search Sassy sleevers. IT's a private group that got me though this experience -
Erika, your timing is amazing. Thursday will be one year out from surgery and 128 pounds down and was JUST thinking about this. As in yesterday. I had forgotten all about this thread. I think it's still a great idea and I would love to be involved some how. I know there is a facebook group for WLS that talks about sex and body image and stuff but it's not a dating site. I'm going to do some research and see if anything has come about in the past year. Wow, the difference a year makes. I want to hear how dating has been going for people. I have not been out on a date but I do have a couple of profiles out there now.

I was sleeved the 31st and I don't seem to have a limit on liquids. I can't gulp, but it seems like I can drink a lot. Some people were talking about a medicine cup full every half hour or something, I can just keep going. Is this a bad thing? Will all this change once I can eat? Thanks for any thoughts.
-
I can't get the drinks down at all either. I'm 4 weeks out. Don't know what I'm going to do.
-
I'm 3 weeks out today. Last night they kept me overnight at the hospital for being dehydrated. Since I started mushy foods, I just haven't been able to eat, or drink my protein drinks. I can get a couple of bites of food in but it's torture. I feel like it's getting worse. The protein shakes are out of the question. What have I done to myself? I can't fix this, I'm terrified.
-
I agree with you but I'm only 2 weeks out and I can't stand the thought of eating. I'm also unable to get any protein drinks down... I know, that's bad, I'm trying a new one tomorrow.

Omg I Slimmed
shellbell125 replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
the burping is is ridiculous and I haven't even started pureed foods yet (tomorrow, yeah). do you think the problem is because the chicken dries out during microwaving? I'm so worried about doing any sliming/throwing up anywhere away from my home. Do have to scout out bathrooms everywhere I go? AHHH! What did I do to myself? -
Another Reason Not To Tell People.....
shellbell125 replied to Queen of Crop's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think the only reason I did tell people was that another lady at work told everyone she had it. I would never have even thought about it if she hadn't gone public and talked to me openly. If I can be an inspiration to someone else like she was to me then I welcome the "whatever" may be coming my way. I say "whatever" because tomorrow will be my first day back so I don't know what to expect. -
can you find that at a regular drug store? Thanks for your help.

Almost 2 weeks out and my stomach makes the loudest noises I've ever heard; it scares my cat. And, I'm belching like a drunken sailor. Please tell me this goes away. I'm picturing being in a meeting at work and belching loud enough to get fired. Also, I'm lightheaded when I stand for a while. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm not dehydrated so I don't know what's going on. I start pureed foods on Wed which is the same day I go back to work. What are some of the first things you ate when you weren't in the safety of your home. Please help, I'm a hot mess.

What calcium (chewable or not) do you take. I bought the Bariatric Advantage and its horrible tastes like biting into chalk.

the website www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com has lots of good recipes and all kinds of stuff.

I keep having these stomach spasms. Everything kind of restricts. Feels like someone squeezing my stomach tight. Only lasts a couple of seconds, but it is painful. Has anyone else had these? It might happen a couple of times an hour but I don't think it's bad enough to take the pain medicine they gave me. Although I am going to take some tonight so I can get a good night sleep. Thoughts anyone? THanks

How Do You Sip?
shellbell125 replied to fyre_storm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5 days out. bought a sippy cup and it works great, it keeps me mindful of how much I'm drinking. Of course I guess I'll have to ditch it when it's time to go back to work. -
Pre Op Liquid Diet
shellbell125 replied to bakawaka's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
cmf1267 - you will lose more than that, you still have another week. Tomorrow is my surgery so I'll see the exact numbers when I check in. -
Hmm, good thing or bad thing? At least it won't be a full moon. How is everyone feeling? I don't know how to feel right now. I know what's done is done but I can't help thinking "I did this to myself", and look and what I'm doing to correct it. I think Tylenol PM is in my near future, I'm not going to be able to sleep the next coupe of nights. My mind is just racing. Does anyone else find themselves just thinking about all aspects of the surgery 24 hours a day? Save me from myself!!!!
