What Did You Take With You To Mexico?
damanda replied to Lollyx3's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My favorite things I brought were Gas -X strips, Listerine strips, hair scrunchies, Berts bees, soft no wire sports bra, flip flops (any slip on shoe) face cleaning wipes, my smart phone, my visa card, a couple loose sun dresses (I went in August )a cross body purse /bag,basic toiletries. -
Good question, if I need them I for sure would do them in Mexico instead of in the US, but who is on the best list for these types of surgery in Mexico and what are the prices?

A glass of wine, a bite of my kids burger, a piece of bacon.

Why No More Dr.kelly Threads?
damanda replied to mikeross's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I used Dr. Kelly, and I did have a drain while at Florence hospital, another patient that I spent a lot of time with while in Mexico was his patient at Mi hospital and had no drain. I did not feel a personal connection with the Dr, I did not have dinner with him or his wife, I am not having his name tattooed on my soon to be svelte arm. What i did get was back on my feet in one day, never even a hint of infection, no leaks, a sleeve that offers great restriction but not too much as I have never thrown up or gotten slimmies or anything like that. Bottom line is he is a good, dare I say great surgeon and that is what I was shopping for. -
Yes, Yes . . we are all very different in the way we lose weight. However with out sorting through every post ever made on VST I was wondering what are the most common times to stall through out the first year and do they last for different amounts of time. Example, if three weeks and 5 months are common stall points , does the three week stall only last one week where the 5 month stall last a month ? Stalls seem to get everyone in such a feisty mood I thought if i just prepared for one in my head I could psych it out

Hey, that is exactly what my husband and I were doing a little over a month ago. We did not hit the Casino though, but still had a good time with Omar shopping and sight seeing!

You are right, they are different and I do understand your feelings. Anyone would cringe at the idea that we went through all this for 25-30 or so pounds, but this too will pass for you and you will see promising breakthroughs I am sure of it ! -

Paigers, you are going to love your sleeve( after a bit) -
Cuban here! I am only 6 weeks out . So far have added salsa, hot sauce, and refried Beans back into my diet. Want to try tortillas, but am a little scared. I will spend Thanksgiving with my husbands Italian family, swear they are just as bad food pushers and advocates for thick extra curvy women!

How Soon After Surgery Did "you All" Have Alcohol ?
damanda commented on anayortiz's blog entry in anayortiz's Blog
I did, it is a sleeve sin I guess, but I am not a perfect person. I have been having wine since two weeks out. It goes down and stays down perfectly(for me). Happy early birthday! -

Verizon Cell Phone Service In Tj? Help!
damanda replied to Sherri297's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I put my Verizon Thunderbolt into airplane mode and then turned WIFI on at the same time and my bill was exactly the same as any other month. I only txt'd with my husband and another sleever who was there with me. I am unsure if putting myself in airplane mode did the international thing that OTR is advising , but I/it must have done something like that because I did get any emails till I got back over the boarder. Then again I told everyone I know I was going out of town for a week and they should leave me alone  -
Yup, perfectly normal. Not doctor recommended but perfectly normal. I ate everything that stood still in front of me long enough the two week prior to my one week pre- op diet .

Pain After Drain Removal?
damanda replied to SoonToBeThinKAT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt pain at my drain sight, more so than my actual incisions for at least a week after it was removed. There was no infection, those things just hurt when they are in and hurt even after they are out. Hope it is just a bit of healing pain and no infection for you.
