What about after chicken or fish? Red meat can be a bit harder to digest this early out. I only started eating red meat at three months. But if you try a moist chicken it might sit better. Also some of the grumbly tummy might just be new tummy noises. I would look more for a feeling of being empty more then a grumbly tummy as a sign that you should eat. Another thing is your tummy is still healing. Nerves that were cut are still healing. So for a few more weeks at least I would measure everything and stop once that is finished. When you are more healed you will feel the restriction. One bite too many is a very uncomfortable feeling..... Especially on a healing tummy.

My feeling of full is totally different then before surgery. Now I eat to feel satisfied. If I get to the full feeling then I feel miserable for a few hours. Like I do right now. This united way campaign is going to be rough... Santiago's breakfast burritos, candy social, root beer float social, lunch ins, ice cream cart, doughnuts.... 5 weeks of this all right before my wedding... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel my hip bones when I lay down and I tap my collar bones when I'm sitting at my desk. I have also started to feel my ribs. It's odd time to feel those because I have always carried my weight in my stomach area. Even my fiancé comments on how boney I'm getting.

I'm not 100% but it could just be some lasting Water retention. Just keep on keeping on and your body will "reset" itself soon. :-)

Stall here too. Been bouncing between 176 and 174. Boo.... But I'm keeping faith that this stall will break sooner rather then later.

I'm in my first true stall at 5 1/2 month. Have been bouncing between 176 and 174 for the past three weeks. Two of those weeks I was on prednisone, so I don't know if I lost weigh but am retaining a ton of water. But I am giving myself a hug pat on the back that I didn't gain while on it. 20lbs left to lose, so I'm expecting more stalls and slower loss. My wedding dress fits perfect right now. Only alteration needed is a hem. So I'm really hoping I can maintain until after the wedding in October, then jump start the losing again. It's a corset back so even if I go down a few lbs it shouldn't make too big of a difference. Just can't lose any more of the boobage between now and then. :-D Size 16 wedding dress which is about a 12 street size. Preop I would have had to order a size 26. -
Help i have stopped losing weight
Heyher replied to Pink Dragoness's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Exercise only accounts for so much. A majority of weight loss comes from quality and quantity of food. I have MS so strenuous exercise is not a possibility for me. But I still lose at a decent rate. Also on average men tend to lose weight faster then women. To the op, you are still new at this. Your body just went through major major surgery and then you lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time. Your body is probably taking a little bit of time to readjust. Also are you tracking your measurements? When you don't lose lbs you might be losing inches. Do you have a preop pic? Take a pic today and compare the two. I'm sure you will see some difference. Are you eating a lot of salty foods? Maybe sodium is too high and you are retaining some water. -
I don't know how long it is expected to last. It isn't being marketed as permanent. But I can't imagine it is supposed to stay in forever. And I agree it looks really easy to damage. And if it rips, how is a person supposed to know? I mean if it rips off, I guess they would find out when they went twosies.... Ewwwwww almost as bad as tape worms.....

There is some ring that the put in at the bottom of the stomach and sew in place. It looks like a big condom with a ehem... Ring of sorts on the end... My first thought was, how does this not have some effect on the pyloric valve? If there is something in there, can it "seal" all the way with dense Protein like the sleeve?
-
I'm interested in what the results would be, but I hope they are approaching this from a bariatric stand point and not just doing the procedure, but also working on behavior modification.

Some stupid new term they are trying to coin in "health conscious" colorado. Damn boulder hippies and capital hill hipsters throwing off the curve for the rest of us.
-
So what happens when they remove it? Also if its similar to bypass, and they can still eat copious amounts of food can you imagine what the dumping would be like??!?!?
-
You can tell for sure. Good job on your loss so far and not throwing in the towel with your first stall. Keep rocking your sleeve and your positive attitude.

I would hold off on weighing for about a month. It takes a while for the side effects to end even after you take your last dose. Boo prednisone.

I already had fine hair before surgery. But I was lucky that I had a lot of it. I started noticing hair falling out around 6 weeks and it slowed down around the 5 month mark. Around that time I got to start prednisone. Which can cause hair loss/thinning. I think someone wants me to be bald for my wedding in October!! LoL!!!!! But I got some clip in hair extensions to help make it look thicker for the big day. Then after the wedding I may just chop it off. I know I looked good in a pixie cut before surgery. So I may just have to go back to it for a while. Such is life as a bariatric patient with ms. :-)

I finished my round of treatment on Wednesday. I took mine for a recent ms flare up. Neurologist told me side effects can last for weeks after you finish. I was always given solu medrol and though it sucks I could tolerate the side effects better then prednisone. Protein shakes for me for the next few weeks. My hands look like baseball gloves from all the fluid retention.

There is a vets forum on here full of people who are 2+ years out.

I log, but not as diligently as when I was two or three months out. I need to get back!! One thing I have noticed is I gain a lb for a day or two, then the scale drops like 2. Man stop messing with my head silly sleeve!!!!! I know it could be Water retention or hormone changes or the moon aligned with Jupiter's fifth moon for 20 minutes while I was thinking about Burger King. But still come on man!!! :-)
