Been 24 hours since I has my last smoke. The hypnotist that I went to was so worth it. I was cranky this morning, but I'm sure a big part of that was the fasting for the blood draw. No urge to smoke. No desire. No struggling. No craving. No want. No need. No nothing.

The Pain Is Like"blank" Compared To Plastic Surgery
Heyher replied to drexelgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have not been sleeved. But I had a breast reduction at 17, and I woke up in recovery screaming in pain. So needless to say the possible pain freaks me out. -
Yay!! I'm working again!!!! Thank you!!!

At What Weight Limit Did You Say "you Have Had Enough"?
Heyher replied to Gonnabeslim1day's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When I realized I'm close to 30, and my grandma passed away at 62. I had the scary thought that if I continued the way I was, my life was almost half done. (I am very similar to her in the genetics department) -
Ohhh I like your menu!!! I may steal the protiene powder in the coffee idea. Big congrats on such an amazing accomplishment!!! And you got the 10lbs in the bag!

This is actually the result of a bug - that's all there is to it. We're currently working on a fix for this and will update this thread when it's resolved.

Did You All Know About
Heyher replied to kmbrlycool's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is there info on why this happens or what (if any) proactive steps can be taken to minimize the risk? -
Will he be checking lung function? Your breathing and blood saturation improves every day you go without smoking so that will help. I can't say what he will or won't do, but the fact that you quit is huge. Be honest with them and just go in positive. I'm trying to quit so I know the struggle. I hope you will get the all clear.

Is The Best Case Scenario Really Realistic?
Heyher replied to Ready4success's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry I don't have advice, because I'm the exact same way... I don't even have my authorization let alone a surgery date to fret over... Hope you get some great answers. -
Yeah sorry, but I agree with izuri. The doctor sets the limits for a reason. They have the degrees, expirence, and school loans to show they do know what they are telling people. I don't think that was judgmental at all. Now if the post was along the lines of name calling and belittling, yeah I could see a time out needed.... But I mean we are all grown ups here. (Well I think so) :-) If people come here asking what they are doing wrong or looking for advice or any input, then I don't think they are worried about positive criticism.

Help! Everyone Wants To Feed Me!
Heyher replied to 303Gal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Respectfully decline and tell them you are trying to be very mindful of your eating. And that much temptation so early in the "diet" could set you back. It's the truth, just not every detail of the truth. :-) -

So I am sorry if this upsets anyone, but before you say "I only lost 20lbs" or "I only lost 2lbs this week" maybe take a step back and remember the excited thrilled feeling you got when you hit 20lbs at WW. Or how great it felt to go down 2lbs in one week with Atkins... Just remember this is a tool, and you get out what you put it. Also remember there will be stalls. This is a tool to help us lose the weight. It's hard not to be discouraged, but maybe count each day with your sleeve as a victory. If you tumble, pick yourself back up and we have this amazing gift that each day is a new opportunity to do the best we can. One step and one pound at a time. Marathon... Not a sprint. :-)

I agree MamaM (tee hee I think I need to start calling my mom that. Murt is getting played out) I am still pre op and can't fathom being upset about losing "only" 10lbs one month. Shoot I'm thrilled when the scale stays the same in a month! I do wonder if some "light losers" are trying to compare or keep pace with someone who has 150+ to lose. Not gunna happen. Sorry. I have the goal of 50lb in 6 months, so I will be pleased if I beat that!! Be happy with the weight loss people!! Think of the sleeve as a gift. And be thankful!! I shall step off my soap box now.

LoL!! But isn't that how you got the name sleeve of steel? I worry mine will be the sleeve of diva behavior...

Heyher replied to Mzluvee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My consult is the 16th too!!!!! Did the seminar in July. Had my pcp meeting last week. Go for psyche eval tomorrow. Get blood test Saturday. Then I get to go back to pcp to get my referral next Friday! Getting sleeved in sept would be so awesome !! Good luck! -
Went PCP, and he is behind me getting the surgery!! I get blood test next week and have to set up psych eval before I go back on the 10th. He will give me the clerence letter at that time to take to pre-op on the 16th!!!
