  1. Feeling the same way. It's nuts to feel no hunger. My tummy will get chatty if its empty for too long. But little "food" and it will quite down for several hours. I have to pay attention to the clock and make myself eat. Crazy... :-)

    8 days post opo

Every surgeon has their own requirements. But only you know what your body will tolerate. If your tummy says no to meat, try cottage cheese, sf pudding, refried Beans, and a Protein Drink. No need to feel stupid. :-) We are all here because we are unsure about eating in the beginning. Start with one oz, and then if you feel you can eat more try the last half half oz.
  3. I stalled for a few days after one week. Scale moved this morning. 1lb at a time. That's how I gained it, so that's how I'll lose it. But 19lbs in two weeks was never something I could do on my own. So I'll take it.
  4. Sleeved 2/26 down 19 since surgery. 24 in all. No liquid diet pre op.
  5. Your stats are the same as mine. I was shocked too at how fast it came off! Excited to see what the next few weeks will bring. Congrats again!
  6. I was down 10lbs in one week. Day of surgery 245 and one week out I was 235. Almost two weeks out I'm 226. I don't know what would be normal, but I think your loss is really good!! Congrats!!
  7. First five days were not fun for me. Morning of day six no pain meds needed. I was able to tolerate liquids a lot better. I bet tomorrow or the next day you will really turn the corner and start feeling much better. :-)
  8. Good to hear it wasn't something serious! I asked my doc because I was having tightness in my legs. He told me if you aren't getting enough protein that can cause muscle aches. Also with MS I know too low potassium can lead to muscle cramps. Crazy what a slight deficiency can do to the body....
  9. At one week I was down 20lbs. I can see a difference in my face and arms. Hope the pic upload worked from my phone.
  10. Heating pad for gas pain. Chapstick. Small pillow to place over tummy for when you cough. And my tummy is talkative as well. Has an opinion about everything. :-)

You look amazing!!! Congrats on you success!!!
  12. My doc told me it isn't the risk of stretching the sleeve. It is the sugar and calories. Pepsi max or dr pepper 10 maybe?

    Ladies - Your Thoughts?

    My DH is bald. Sexy.
  14. Aim for 30 minutes of activity a day. But start slow. Start with 6 five minute walks throughout the day. Then after a week try 3 10 minute walks. Then 2 15 and before you know it you are walking 30 minutes 2x a day. Congrats on your amazing loss!!!

    Pity party for one

Time to vent and whine. I'm 4 days post op and doing great. But I'm sick of sleeping on my back in a recliner. It's making my hips hurt. My back hurts. This drain is really annoying me. And I am counting down the hours until I can have cottage cheese. Also getting sick of reading through threads thinking there will be useful information. Only to get to page three and see it dissolve into flirting, sex talk, innuendos of orgies, pointless dribble that they can accomplish through PM rather then hijacking every thread. I get we are all adults. But this is VST. Not sexual function talk... No it isn't my swan song. I'm going to try to help people and look for help here. But just wish the overtly sexual conversations would be in PM and pointless random chatter kept to a minimum. Having fun and keeping it light is all fine and good. But it's really getting old and annoying. Exchange numbers or email or PM. But please stop hijacking all these threads. Now I'm achy, hungry, on dilaudid, and sleepy. Tomorrow is another day and maybe there will be a new thread with substance.

    Pity party for one

OMG yes!!! I was able to sleep like I normally do!! Still wiped out, but wow what a difference from yesterday!!
  18. So I was able to advance to my next level and start on full liquids/mushy. I kept it pretty low key and only had 1/4c fat free cottage cheese and 8oz protine drink made with skim milk. I also sipped on water, but that was my afternoon consumption. Now I am having horrible reflux 2 hrs after my last "meal". I'm on a ppi, so I'm not sure why the sudden surge in reflux. Anyone else have this?
  19. Okay. Last night it was bad. That SUCKED!! LoL!! Going to buy a few value family sized tubs of tums. :-) Thank you!!

Are you drinking cold water? I found the first few days it had to be cool to room temp or I would have horrible cramps/spasms.

    I regret..!

It will get better. You just went through major surgery and your stomach just had a major trauma happen to it. No need to be a hero. Right now is very important to listen to your body. Take pain meds as prescribed. Don't wait for pain to start. Stay ahead of it. If your body says to sleep, then sleep. When you are awake take small sips of room temp water and try to walk every 30 minutes. Even if its a lap around the room. Focus on small victories. Right now it might be too overwhelming to think about the big picture. Focus on sipping, walking, and protein. Remember it will get better. Every day you will notice improvements. No matter how small, those improvements are part of you getting to a healthier life.

    Taste Bud Changes

Yes. Things that were a little sweet pre op tasted syrupy sweet. I tried beef broth today and it tasted so odd. Didn't expect the broth to taste so odd.
